I Married A Degraded Alpha
Chapter 53: Victory!

Chapter 53: Victory!

The bustling arena fell into stunned silence. Officials from both nations turned their gaze toward Yuri and Tuss.

The enormous screen showed Tuss sprawled on the ground, a picture of dumbfounded shock. Meanwhile, Yuri, the cause of the scene, glared angrily at Tuss.

The audience stared, mouths agape. She kicked Tuss and now she’s the one looking mad?

Even more surprising, Tuss, the kicked one, actually apologized. "I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have... without your permission—"

"Quiet. Go compete," Yuri commanded with a stern face.

Tuss looked at her with a pitiful expression. "If you’re mad, I’ll be distracted."

"I’m not mad," Yuri replied with a smile hiding her fury.

Tuss still didn’t seem assured. "After this, wait for me. We need to handle our mecha’s rule violations."

"Sure," said Yuri as her mind began to wander. "Will we have to pay a lot of fines?"

Tuss stifled a laugh. "Probably quite a few."

A look of heartbreak crossed Yuri’s face. "Can the academy cover that expense for us?"

Tuss thought for a moment. "Hard to tell."

Disappointment flooded Yuri, she waved him off. "Just go."

Her dismissive attitude was almost repulsive.

Tuss looked back at her three times as he returned to his team.

"I never thought you were like this, Tuss." Tyrone teased.

Tuss glanced at him. "People without wives have no right to comment."

As if struck in the heart, Tyrone turned away, ignoring Tuss.

"Tuss," Hoolin, the grandson of the number one commander, said with a smirk, "Did you just not dodge your wife’s kick, or couldn’t you?"

Tuss shot him a ’what do you think?’ look.

"Oh, so you couldn’t dodge it," Hoolin deduced with a deep implication, "Her kick was so sudden and fast, not a bit slower than you, Tuss."

"She is very strong," Tuss stated seriously.

The crowd exchanged looks, unsure whether to believe him.

After all, Yuri was just an omega to them.

In the mecha match, each side sent out two players, each in their own mecha, and the match proceeded in a team battle format. Four new basic mechas were delivered to the competition platform. Before their arrival, both sides had checked to ensure there were no issues with the mechas.

Each of the four competitors randomly picked a mecha.

Basic mechas were manual versions, but the use of feet was equally crucial and greatly impacted the ability to pilot the mecha.

This time, however, no one was worried about Tuss. Everyone vividly remembered the red and green mecha in the sky above Planet Alpha a few days ago. The superb mecha control, the inhuman movements—

As expected, the Alliance sent out Tyrone and Tuss, but Tyrone barely got a chance to participate.

Right off the bat, the two mechas from the Empire side cornered Tuss, intending to take him out first, then deal with Tyrone.

But reality slapped them hard. Not to mention two, even if two more were added, they were no match for Tuss.

"The fear of being dominated by Tuss is back," sighed a student from Tuss’s grade.

"Why is he so outstanding while the rest of us are left in the dust?"

"I kind of understand Thanos now. He must be desperate facing an opponent he could never beat in his lifetime."

"Whether Thanos is desperate, I don’t know, but those two from the Empire certainly are."

"Practically defenseless."

"Only if their SSS-tier alpha from the Empire came, could he possibly match Tuss."

"But isn’t Tuss just SS-tier? Can he even compete against SSS?"

"True. It’s good that the SSS didn’t come. Speaking of which, the Empire already has an SSS-tier this generation, we still don’t know where our Alliance’s SSS is."

"Could still be a cell."

"......"

The faces of the Empire’s officials were sour, their glares could almost pierce through Tuss. They regretted their decision to agree to the Alliance’s substitution. If they hadn’t, they could have secured a chance to use the starstone, but they had been overly confident...

Tuss didn’t care about the Empire officials’ expressions. As soon as the match ended, he wanted to run toward Yuri, but Officer Lyao blocked his path.

"Can I help you?" Tuss asked, his gaze focused on Yuri.

Seeing this, Officer Lyao started gossiping, "How’s the kick?"

Tuss’s face stiffened. Without responding, he asked, "What do you need from me, sir?"

"Go get your alpha tier tested, right now," Officer Lyao instructed, "I will have someone escort you and ask the facility to give you greenlight."

"I violated mecha flying rules. I need to handle the fine tickets," Tuss stated flatly.

Officer Lyao laughed, "You’re clearly hoping that I will take care of that for you. Fine, I agree, I’ll have someone handle it. Now, you will go get your level tested immediately."

"Yes, sir," Tuss said loudly, "I want to bring Yuri along."

"Granted," Officer Lyao waved his hand dismissively.

Tuss and Yuri followed a soldier dispatched by Officer Lyao and left the arena.

"My name is Bassus Moyer, I’m also a graduate of Military Academy No. 1, you can call me by my name," the soldier greeted them with a friendly smile.

Tuss and Yuri greeted him.

"We’re heading to the academy infirmary. Professor Gawk is waiting there," Bassus informed.

Tuss was taken aback, "Professor Gawk is testing me personally?"

"Yes, he insisted on doing it himself," Bassus replied, looking at Tuss with envy, "This is the highest honor. Many would be envious."

Tuss pressed his lips together, "I hope the results won’t disappoint him."

Bassus patted his shoulder, "No matter the outcome, your excellence is indisputable."

Yuri wasn’t sure who Professor Gawk was, but seeing Bassus’s admiration, he must be a highly respected figure.

Upon reaching the infirmary, Yuri didn’t meet this Professor Gawk. As soon as they arrived, Tuss was led away by two doctors. She and Bassus were left waiting outside.

"Don’t worry, everything will be fine," Bassus noted Yuri’s gaze following Tuss and comforted her.

Yuri retracted her gaze, giving Bassus a polite smile, appearing rather docile—quite different from the girl who had kicked Tuss away earlier.

"You’re studying mecha manufacturing?" Bassus asked, his smiling face and gentle tone making him seem very approachable and easy to let one’s guard down around.

Yuri gave a small nod, shyly admitting, "Only for one semester." In other words—Please don’t expect me to answer any technical questions about mechas.

"If you have any professional questions, perhaps we can discuss them," Bassus suggested modestly.

"You also studied mecha manufacturing?" Yuri asked in surprise.

"I majored in mecha combat and took manufacturing as an elective. I did pretty well." Bassus continued in his humble manner.

Yuri thought to herself, Well, so he’s one of those, huh? By saying pretty well, it’s probably not just ’pretty well’, it’s probably excellent.

Yuri had been studying about mecha production recently and encountered quite a few problems.

The two of them continued their Q&A session, gradually losing track of time.

It was not until a flurry of hurried footsteps sounded that Yuri and Bassus both shut their mouths and turned to look at the entrance.

"Why are you here?" Bassus stood up and saluted Officer Lyao.

"I had to come for this," Officer Lyao said with a smile, walking directly toward the inside.
