I Married A Degraded Alpha
Chapter 41: Perfect Dodge

Chapter 41: Perfect Dodge

A massive fleet of mechas and starships burst into the sky above Planet Alpha, so crammed together that they could barely move. Forget about chasing someone—they were lucky to be able to move at all.

Only one mecha, striking in its red and green, continued to dart about with its fancy footwork, constantly leaping and teleporting, steadily advancing towards the spaceport.

The streamer tried to keep her camera focused on the mecha, aiming to capture its every move in the clearest detail.

"That red and green thing’s so flashy, I can’t even tell how it’s moving."

"Try watching in slow motion."

"I heard this Tuss guy was handicapped?"

"He’s an omega."

"But before that, he was the first chair student at Military Academy No. 1, the best in both academics and combat."

"Ah, that makes sense."

"...."

The online users were in awe.

But what they didn’t know was that their adored, admired Tuss was currently covering his mouth, his face pale. His features twisted in discomfort.

Tuss swore to himself that unless it was absolutely necessary, he would never hand over the controls to her again.

Yuri didn’t hear Tuss’s grumble, as she was fully concentrated, calculating each step, each route. Seeing the spaceport right ahead, she asked, "Who should I give the starstone to?"

"The first commander, his military flag is a mix of red and yellow," Tuss replied.

Yuri quickly spotted the red and yellow flag, guiding the mecha straight towards it.

As everyone watched, anticipating a horrific crash, many people closed their eyes in fear.

People like Ender, in particular, cried out uncontrollably, "No!"

But then, in the next moment, the flashy mecha executed a beautiful drift and came to a smooth halt.

"Ugh—" Tuss couldn’t hold it in any longer and vomited.

Yuri: "...."

No one would believe that the first chair from Military Academy No. 1 suffered from motion sickness.

The mecha stood within the camp of the first commander, halting any who had malicious intentions towards the starstone.

"I knew Tuz would choose the first commander," Ender commented, his scared heart finally calming down.

The others in the channel also started sharing their opinions.

"The first, second, and third commanders are all good, but only the first one came today."

"Once the first commander gets the starstone, the second and third will also get their shares. Whether they come or not doesn’t make much difference."

"The outcome is good, Tuz arrived safely."

"I wonder how many SS-tier betas the Alliance will have this time."

"I guess three. They can’t have less than the Empire."

"...."

Yuri exited the mecha, greeted by two rows of solemn, upright officers.

Seeing them, Yuri couldn’t help but straighten up and tighten her little face.

"Why aren’t you moving?" Tuss asked, stepping out of the mecha as well.

"Ah, there he is." The leading officer smiled.

Tuss, with a somewhat dark expression, said, "I thought at least you would send someone to back us up."

"I did." The officer kept his smile, but there was no warmth in it. "They thought you probably didn’t need any help, so they didn’t take action."

Tuss said nothing, his face grim.

Yuri raised an eyebrow. Did I perform too well?

"Don’t be upset. Come inside and let’s talk," the officer gestured for them to come in.

Yuri looked at Tuss. Mistaking her hesitation for fear, Tuss took her hand and led her inside.

His palm was broad and warm. For some reason, Yuri forgot to pull away and let him guide her, walking side by side into the starship.

The officer led them deep into the ship, all the way to the command room.

"Please, have a seat. No need to stand on ceremony," the officer said, sitting down first. His sharp eyes flicked between Tuss and Yuri, focusing especially on Tuss’s legs and Yuri’s right arm.

Tuss pulled out a chair for Yuri. Only after she had taken her seat did he sit down next to her.

The officer, seeing Tuss’s actions, raised an eyebrow and said, "I remember back in the old days, you ignored all the love letters from the granddaughter of the second commander. I thought you were just oblivious, but looking at your caring nature now, it seems you just hadn’t met someone who made you pay attention."

Tuss’s expression shifted subtly, and he instinctively looked at Yuri.

Yuri’s expression remained calm, as if she hadn’t heard what the officer said. Or perhaps she had heard and simply didn’t care. She took the starstone out of her pocket, handed it over and said, "Tuz said there’s a reward."

The officer took the starstone, chuckled and said, "Yes, there is a reward. What do you want?"

"I want a mansion." Even though Tuss said he could negotiate for them, she preferred to do it herself.

"No problem," the officer agreed immediately.

"I want the best mansion on Planet Alpha," Yuri added.

The officer looked somewhat uncomfortable.

"Is the starstone not worth it?" Yuri asked, confused.

"No, that’s not it," the officer thought for a moment and said. "I don’t know which mansion is the best, but I can give you one that’s among the top ten."

Yuri nodded and said, "Prepare the furniture too. Consider it as a wedding gift from you to us."

Officer: "....Alright."

Yuri caught the gritting-teeth tone in his voice.

Tuss chuckled and saluted, "Thank you, sir."

The officer was amused and laughed, "Nice bargain, young lady."

Yuri shrugged off the compliment, "If there’s nothing else, we’ll leave first."

"Go ahead, go ahead," the officer waved them off.

Yuri took two steps, then turned back, "Hurry up with the mansion, we don’t have a place to stay right now."

"Alright, I got it," the officer was truly a bit impatient now.

Yuri walked out of the battleship, feeling refreshed, "My dream house, my mansion, it’s really coming true."

Tuss looked at her affectionately, "You could have asked for more, you know."

"That’s enough. Let them owe us this favor, it might be useful in the future," Yuri replied.

Tuss remained silent and then asked, "Where are we going now?"

"Isn’t that what you should be telling me?" Yuri said, looking off into the distance.

Tuss followed her gaze, and there, Ender and the others were sprinting towards them.

Tuss instinctively wanted to hide, but the starship was right behind him. He had nowhere to go, and was engulfed by Ender and the rest.

Even Yuri was surrounded by a group of girls.

"Man, your mecha piloting skills are getting insane."

"Tell us the truth, have you been secretly practicing this past half year?"

"Tsk, tsk, you’ve only lost two legs, not three, yet your style has changed completely, it’s become even more awesome. Your evasive maneuvers were a showstopper, everyone was blown away."

"I want to learn too, the free kind."

"Today you were as charming as ever, just like your old self."

Tuss looked at Yuri nervously, signaling her with his eyes: you can explain something here.

Yuri only ignored his glances of hints.

Later, Yuri and Tuss did not return to the Hiro family, the two went to stay in a hotel.

"There is only one room with a single bed left, would you like it?" asked the hotel front desk.

This was the fourth hotel Yuri and Tuss had entered. Thanks to the starstone, Planet Alpha had attracted a large number of people in recent days, bringing a boom in the food and hotel industries.

Tuss looked at Yuri and suggested, "Maybe I should go to Daleks’s house, and you stay at the hotel?"

Knowing that Daleks’s home was in another district, and it would take at least two hours to get there from here, they had been on the run for several days, exhausted both physically and mentally. Yuri didn’t want him to continue the hustle, so she said, "Let’s just take the single bed room."

They had stayed in a smaller mecha for so many days, and even the room with a single bed felt large enough for Yuri.

The clerk at the front desk looked at them curiously, wondering, if they are a couple, what’s the problem with sleeping in the same room?

When they got into the room, however, it turned out that although it was a single room, the room was not small at all, and neither was the bed, it was 1.8 meters wide.

"I’ll check for cameras first," Tuss said.

"Then you check the bathroom first, I want to take a shower." Yuri had already started looking for clothes.

Tuss went to the bathroom, the thought that she would be showering here while he was outside, separated by just a glass wall, made his breathing quicken.

"Are you done?" Yuri asked.

"Yes." Tuss walked out of the bathroom, and in the moment they crossed paths, Tuss did not dare to look at Yuri.

When the sound of water started, Tuss rushed out of the room, and with a bang, closed the door.

He leaned back against the door, slapped his face with his hand, and muttered to himself, "Stay calm. Don’t scare her."

Yuri came out of the bathroom to find Tuss missing, she was surprised and asked, "Where did he go?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Tuss entered the room, holding food in his hand and said, "Are you hungry? Do you want to eat something?"

Smelling the aroma of food, even if she wasn’t hungry, Yuri couldn’t help but want to taste it, she said, "Sure."

Yuri tried a bit of everything, and the majority of the remaining food went into Tuss’s stomach.

After eating, Yuri went to brush her teeth, and then it was Tuss’s turn to take a shower.

Having eaten, Yuri was drowsy and kept yawning, she didn’t even wait for Tuss to come out from the shower, simply got into bed and pulled the covers over herself, and fell asleep in an instant.

Tuss, who was still in the bathroom, scrubbed himself thoroughly, making sure he was squeaky clean and didn’t smell at all. He hesitated between using a towel or wearing a bathrobe for more than ten minutes.

By the time he finally wrapped a towel around his lower half, exposing his attractive abs and tempting V-line, it had already been half an hour.

As Tuss walked out, drying his hair, he couldn’t help but sneak a glance at Yuri, wanting to observe her reaction when she saw his physique.

However, he couldn’t find Yuri.

After looking around, he found her fast asleep on the bed.

Tuss: "...."

It seems like he had misjudged after all.
