I Married A Degraded Alpha -
Chapter 30: Yuri’s Special Abilities
Chapter 30: Yuri’s Special Abilities
Tuss obediently widened his eyes, concentrating intently, but he saw nothing.
The next moment, everything around them fell quiet. The sounds of violence, the shouts, the animalistic growls... all vanished.
Tuss turned his gaze to the enraged alphas, who just a minute ago had been rampaging, were now standing in a daze, their eyes vacant. The volatile, bloodthirsty vibe had disappeared, leaving only a harmless, calm presence.
Yuri really did it.
Tuss was astounded. He silently counted the number of raving alphas—sixteen in total.
He took in a sharp breath. How did she manage to control sixteen people at the same time?
It wasn’t just Tuss who was taken aback. The commander was even more shocked, disbelief written all over his face. He stuttered, "You, how did you...?"
"Don’t worry about how I did it, just fulfill our agreement," Yuri said.
At this moment, her head throbbed with pain, all she wanted was to find a place to rest.
The commander, not mentioning the agreement, asked again, "Are you a beta?"
He couldn’t think of anything else, just wondering when the Alliance produced such a powerful beta, one that could calm more than a dozen alphas in a Sea of Consciousness eruption.
It was astonishing. If he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, he would never have believed it.
Yuri didn’t answer directly. "What if I am, what if I’m not? Do you plan to kidnap me, too?"
Yuri’s tone was cold, but the commander heard a hint of threat in it. He felt a shiver down his spine.
"I wouldn’t dare, you really love to joke, don’t you?" the commander wiped the sweat from his forehead. Kidnap her would only be asking for trouble for himself.
Yuri smirked, "It’s not that you don’t want to, you just don’t dare. So, you really are involved in beta trafficking."
The commander stammered, "We just can’t refuse what others bring to us."
"Enough, stop talking, open the door, let us go," Yuri was getting impatient.
"Don’t rush," the commander smiled obsequiously, "It’s okay to let you go. But before that, I’d like to discuss a deal with you."
"Oh?" Yuri raised an eyebrow, interested. "What kind of deal?"
"A business deal between betas and alphas," the commander teased.
The commander had a pile of things that needed handling. He instructed his men to arrange a large suite for Yuri and the others. The table was piled high with food, drinks, and fruit desserts.
Yuri leaned back on a single couch, her face pale under the mask, her eyes closed, and her brows furrowed. It was clear she was not resting peacefully.
"Tuss?" Rei slumped on the couch as well, alongside him were six alphas and a female beta on another single couch.
Once the name Tuss was mentioned, the other seven people’s eyes widened, wondering if it was the Tuss they knew?
Ignoring their curious gazes, Tuss bent down to help Yuri lift her legs onto the couch. He took a blanket from the side and covered her. After all these, he finally whispered, "Does your brother know you came to Star 814?"
Rei froze for a moment before answering honestly, "He doesn’t know. But he’s also in the Gamma Galaxy, the practical exam this semester is in the Gamma Galaxy."
Tuss paused, it had been a semester already?
"Tuss, you were amazing today. Even stronger than before," Rei said sincerely.
The others, having recovered from their shock, agreed enthusiastically, "Right, very impressive."
Tuss remained indifferent, his expression unmoved by their compliments. He frowned, "So you all should be taking your exams right now?"
"That’s right. It’s all because of those damned traffickers," Rei gritted his teeth.
Tuss sighed, not blaming him, "Later, send a message to your teacher."
"I’ve tried, it doesn’t go through," another person said.
Tuss frowned, picked up his opticomputer to check, and indeed, the signal had been blocked.
"Tuss, who is she?" Rei’s gaze shifted to Yuri, and he deliberately lowered his voice.
Upon hearing this, the others perked up their ears, their eyes full of gossiping expressions.
Tuss’s face softened, "Ask her yourself when she wakes up."
"Oh—" Rei mused, looking at Tuss with an accusing gaze, "Where’s your wife? Didn’t she come?"
Seeing Rei’s expression, Tuss knew he had gotten the wrong idea. The corner of his mouth twitched, and he said seriously, "My relationship with my wife very stable. You don’t need to worry."
Rei let out a sigh of relief, "My brother said your wife is a good person. You can’t let her down."
"Let who down?" Yuri woke up, and that was the first thing she heard.
Rei froze, laughing awkwardly, "No one, nobody."
When Yuri woke up, everyone in the living room became restrained.
She herself seemed at ease, picking up some food from the table and eating while saying, "Aren’t you all hungry? Don’t you like all this food?"
At Yuri’s words, the others finally realized they were hungry, and they reached out for the food on the table. They glanced at Yuri, grabbing whatever she grabbed.
Yuri pretended not to see their actions, trying everything on the table, and ate to her fill.
"Has the effect of the tranquilizers worn off?" Yuri asked Rei and the others.
Rei jumped up from the couch and used his actions to tell her, "It’s worn off. We’re fine now. Sis, are we going to fight our way out now?"
A vein throbbed on Yuri’s forehead. She didn’t expect that the shrewd Ender had such a fool-ish little brother.
"Sit down," Tuss said indifferently.
Rei, like a conditioned reflex, quickly jumped back to the couch. With his hands on his knees, he looked exceedingly well-behaved.
The others watched this scene in astonishment, as the little tyrant, Rei, seemed to be so afraid of this young man. But when they thought about Tuss’s identity, they understood.
After all, he had been the top student of Military Academy No. 1, an SS-tier genius.
"Sis, have you met Tuss’s wife?" Rei asked curiously.
Yuri responded with a noncommittal, "I have."
"How’s your relationship with her?" Rei asked again.
Tuss, sitting next to them, sprawled out on the couch, watching Rei digging his own grave.
"It’s okay," Yuri said nonchalantly, "Why? Are you have a crush on her?"
"No, absolutely not. I was just curious," Rei quickly waved his hands, then gossiped, "What’s your relationship with Tuss?"
Yuri looked at Tuss and said, "He’s asking about our relationship."
Tuss sat up and said, "Ignore him."
Rei pouted but under Tuss’s threatening gaze, he reluctantly shut his mouth.
At that moment, there was a knock at the door.
"Go open the door," Tuss ordered Rei.
Following the order, Rei jumped up swiftly, opened the door, and then returned to his seat just as swiftly, "The commander is here, and he brought others."
Tuss turned his head to look at the entrance.
"Sorry to keep you waiting," the commander said with a false smile.
Yuri and Tuss glanced at each other. Neither of them got up to greet the newcomers.
Unfazed, the commander introduced Yuri to the man behind him, "This is a high-level beta. She should be able to solve your problems."
The man was middle-aged and looked older than the commander.
"Are you the one who wants to do business with me?" Yuri asked, seizing up the middle-aged man from head to toe.
The man had a strong vibe of a killer. Either he had killed a lot of insectoids or, a lot of people.
The man also looked at Yuri and said, "Are you the one who subdued more than a dozen rioting alphas?"
"Didn’t someone tell you before you came here? If you don’t believe what the people around you say, would you believe me?" Yuri asked, puzzled.
The man choked, a trace of anger crossing his face.
But Yuri didn’t give him a chance to blow up. She said, "Let’s cut to the chase. What business do you want to discuss?"
"Why don’t you guess?" The man moved a chair and sat opposite Yuri.
Yuri rolled her eyes, "To groom your Sea of Consciousness, right?"
The man didn’t respond.
Tuss suddenly cut in, "I disagree."
Yuri was stunned, looking at him in confusion, "Why?"
"You haven’t groomed the Sea of Consciousness for me yet," Tuss said, his tone pitiful and a bit sour.
"But I did. Twice. I gave you my first time," Yuri said. It seemed as if she didn’t realize how ambiguous her words were and how easily they could be misunderstood.
Upon hearing this, Tuss’s mood improved. He blurted out, "But I want you to do that only for me."
"Holy shit."
Rei jumped up from the couch, "Brother Tuss, that’s not right. Don’t you know how much the Alliance is lacking betas? Especially high-level betas. How can you monopolize one?"
"Yeah, you need to overcome your possessiveness," another person also advised.
"Even if you want to monopolize, you have to wait until after the complete marking. But now the Alliance has a new rule. High-level betas can’t be completely marked until they are twenty-five years old," the female beta said.
Tuss’s face turned slightly red. He was regretting his words, wondering how he could have blurted out his inner thoughts.
"Hahaha, well, you’re young and in love, it’s understandable," the commander laughed, breaking the odd atmosphere in the room, "Shall we discuss business now?"
Yuri nodded and asked, "I can groom the Sea of Consciousness. What’s the payment?"
"It depends on how well you can do," the man looked at her and said.
Yuri thought for a moment and agreed, "Okay. But my fee is not cheap."
"Astracredit is not a problem," the man said, looking like he was not short on money.
Yuri’s eyes brightened, she sat up straight and said, "Let’s get started then."
The man also sat up straight, reaching his hand towards Yuri.
"No need," Yuri waved her hand and said, "Just relax."
The man paused, then laughed, "I’m looking forward to seeing your skills."
Yuri closed her eyes, the moment she entered the man’s Sea of Consciousness, she felt crowded, foul, and chaotic... This place was like a garbage dump.
Having tidied up Tuss’s Sea of Consciousness twice, Yuri knew what to do. She used her psychic power to "transform" the place.
The man sitting across from Yuri also closed his eyes. His eyebrows, usually furrowed, gradually relaxed, and he unknowingly fell asleep.
When the snoring started, the black market’s commander was shocked and couldn’t their boss actually fell asleep just like that.
It was well known that their boss had been suffering from insomnia for several years. He had trouble falling asleep, woke easily, and averaged less than two hours of sleep per day. He was clearly exhausted, but he couldn’t sleep.
Due to chronic insomnia, his boss’s health was getting worse and worse, and so was his temper.
The commander couldn’t remember the last time his boss fell asleep so quickly.
