Chapter 86: Chapter 52: Tear Duct Collapse, the Audience is Stunned by the Blade! (Please Subscribe!)_3
Energy waves of shorter storage seemed to have no immediate use, seeming only fit for a form of communication that wasn’t exactly communication.
But now, they had acquired a second purpose.
The faint energy contained within the waves was precisely what the giant serpent craved. Emitting short bursts could attract the serpent’s attention, causing it to change its attack target.
At that moment, the serpent had already turned its head, aiming for Yin.
"Brother! Run!!!"
Yin shouted while rapidly manipulating the keyboard to move back and forth continuously.
"Bang!!!" Each time the giant serpent struck the ground, it created a deep pit.
There was no doubt, even a slight mishap would probably result in a torn scarf and shattered dreams right there.
However, under the immense pressure, Yin unleashed amazing hand speed typical of a seasoned gamer, moving swiftly and nimbly around the vast underground columns while circling the serpent.
He quickly rushed to his brother who had only just managed to stand up.
After several levels of cooperation, the player and NPC seemed to have reached a certain understanding.
Stupid Brother burst into a sprint and leapt, drawing high into the air, capturing the serpent’s offensive attention.
And the very next moment, Yin followed suit, hurrying to catch up.
He soared into the sky towards his brother. After accumulating energy and releasing a long wave, not only did he replenish his brother’s scarf to its full length, but he also used Stupid Brother as a stepping stone to bounce further away. During the process, he continually emitted short bursts of light waves, redirecting the serpent’s focus back onto himself.
Following suit, the highly adaptive NPC also started imitating Yin’s tactics, embarking on a frantic escape.
The giant serpent relentlessly pursued them, gaping maw wide open, intent on swallowing them whole.
But like runners in a relay race, the two little red robes chased each other, using one another as springboards. While pushing forward, they carefully transferred the serpent’s hatred between them.
Their tacit understanding peaked at that moment!
Watching, the audience couldn’t help but sweat in their palms, yet they silently cheered for the two small figures on the screen.
Finally, after a lengthy downhill dash through sandy terrain, both nearly simultaneously charged into a square barrier constructed of golden QR codes.
This contraption seemed to be the key to dealing with the serpent, allowing the little red robes to rush in unscathed.
But when the serpent collided with it, it emitted a muffled ’boom’ before shattering into pieces.
"Damn, well done, brother!" Yin breathed a sigh of relief, expressing his praise with short energy waves.
The NPC also repeatedly responded with short waves.
"As everyone knows, short waves can mean anything, like ’Well done’, ’Hurry up, brother’, ’Where are you going, brother’, and even ’Cinema!’/Dog Head," joked a commenter upon seeing this.
"You lot know nothing, this is heart-to-heart communication; what’s a soulmate, huh?" Yin retorted with a laugh.
Having evaded the perilous pursuit of the giant serpent, the two little red robes stood within the building constructed of golden sigils, slowly ascending as if in an elevator.
They arrived at another new platform.
Here, the light returned once more, and the fearsome serpent vanished without a trace.
It was a large elevator, surrounded by a peculiar liquid composed of energy.
Players could even choose to jump out of the elevator without falling; instead, they would soak in the golden energy liquid, their scarves continuously filling behind them, the energy seemingly endless.
Besides, the circular walls around them were densely covered with murals.
Yin returned to the elevator, simply standing within the square and waiting to ascend without a move, the exit above getting closer and closer.
Then, he resumed analyzing the meaning behind the murals, offering a vague interpretation for the viewers who had been following along.
"...As can be seen in the murals, there was a world-shaking war among the people in white robes, themed around the plundering of resources. A multitude of modified weaponized serpents emerged, bringing a hellish disaster upon the world. Yet, as always, wars have no victors and in the end, both sides of white robes met a mutually destructive fate, burying countless white-robed skeletons beneath the sands."
"Devoid of energy supplies, the remaining white robes also gradually perished. The civilizations’ structures, long neglected, continued to erode into what we first encountered..."
"Uh..." Yin paused midway through his explanation.
For the circular walls had abruptly skipped a section of content following that narrative, the walls instead made up of ordinary bricks.
As the platform neared its destination, the murals reappeared on the walls.
And this time,
the murals clearly depicted two little red robes.
They had escaped the chase of the giant serpent.
Then, aboard the energy lift, they ascended.
All the way to the entrance of Sacred Mountain.
The mural broke off completely there.
Yin was momentarily stunned.
The audience also started realizing there was something amiss.
"That painting just now... wasn’t it depicting the boss and Stupid Brother?"
"Looks like it, doesn’t it? Red robes have never appeared in the murals before, and there are only two red robes left in the whole world, the boss and his brother."
"So the question arises, why are the boss and his brother in the mural? That’s not good!"
"After reaching the peak of Sacred Mountain, won’t there be a final, ultimate battle? Could the biggest white robe BOSS be inside? Like the white robe from the protagonist’s initial dream, gazing at the mountain top?"
"Could it be that the protagonist can change the past once he reaches the mountain top? Logically, stars are mostly related to time, and those shooting stars could perhaps alter time and space?"
