Chapter 82: Chapter 51: Strange NPC? My Little Brother is Missing! (Please Subscribe!)_2

Even he didn’t know why, but he suddenly found himself smiling.

Perhaps it was the sudden companionship on a lonely journey, much like Robinson meeting his Friday.

Fearing it was merely a mirage deliberately designed by Designer Ke, Yin hurriedly controlled his character to run towards that silly boy.

With a combined effort of running and flying, Yin rushed over and greeted the boy.

"Hello there, little brother," he said.

Of course, in the game, this was nothing more than him gently charging up, and then his character model emitting a semi-circular arc of white, transparent light.

But what lightly stirred Yin’s heart was,

that NPC responded to him.

It too charged up and sent out a gentle circular arc of light from itself, as if answering Yin’s "greeting".

This scene also inexplicably made the audience’s smiles rise.

They had accompanied Yin through a solitary journey lasting over ten minutes.

And now, another little guy had appeared in the vast desert, ready to replace them and truly accompany Yin on the rest of his journey.

Looking foolish and dazed, but standing beside Yin, it somehow felt warm and loving.

"Come on NPC, show me your quest guide," said Yin, though he sighed inwardly.

He had hoped that this game would be out of the ordinary, but it couldn’t completely avoid the norm.

Here was an NPC popping up to issue a mission, probably about to guide players on a quest.

Thinking about it, if the gameplay were the same throughout,

players simply wouldn’t stick around.

Only games with mission systems or objectives can keep a player’s attention focused, so they’re willing to delve deeper into the experience.

Designers need to eat, companies need to make money; it’s unavoidable.

But soon, Yin realized that he might have misjudged the game.

Though the NPC had indeed popped up,

But...

It seemed to have no intention of giving him a mission.

It wasn’t guiding the player anywhere.

It even seemed to be unclear about its own program.

Struggling with basic operations, it looked like an utter noob.

It had barely flown a few steps before tumbling down from the sky, landing on the slope of a sand dune, then rolling and tumbling, covered in dust and dirt.

After dusting itself off and standing up, it looked towards Yin’s direction with a blank expression, continuously sending out shorter "wie", "wie", "wie" white light waves, as if asking for help.

"Damn it, is this an artificial dimwit or what? The programming is just awful," Yin said with a face full of black lines.

However, the live streaming room was amused by this unexpected scene.

"Hahaha, I thought this NPC would guide Yin, but it turns out Yin is like its parent who has to teach it everything from scratch."

"Such a clunky and adorable NPC, feels like it was deliberately designed by Designer Ke? In this lonely journey, it not only eases the player’s loneliness but also adds a bit of fun."

"Although overall there seems to be no major thrilling points or fun, it’s this subtle, barely-there beauty, whether in the scenery or the characters, that makes me linger with affection."

The comments increased compared to before.

"Alright, who says I’m not a helpful person?" Yin sighed, walking up to the NPC, "Watch closely, this is how you fly!"

As he spoke, he gave a demonstration.

He went to the side to a red ribbon, charged up fully, and let go. Hei moved with light steps, quickly stepping onto the soft ribbon, and with the Power of QR Code, he leapt!

Followed by his wide red cloak billowing with the wind, he soared into the sky.

The little red cloak followed suit.

Moving to the upright ribbon that resembled water grass.

Charging up.

Then taking off!

Both of them successfully flew toward the sky, in front and behind each other, floating above the desert that resembled a pink ocean. The shadows cast by the sunlight played on the sand, like two black tadpoles frolicking.

"Beep beep beep, prepare for landing ahead! Little brother, if you hear me, respond!" Yin looked at the length of his scarf, which was getting increasingly shorter during the brief flight, tightening around his neck as it clearly ran out of energy.

He mused to himself.

He also pressed the charge button, emitting a short-arc wave of white light, signaling for little brother to stay close.

The desert was vast, and if they got separated, with this artificial noob’s clumsy logic program, it was doubtful if he could find his way back.

But the next moment, what happened made Yin’s eyes go wide.

The short-arc wave he sent out slowly spread out like a sphere, and the moment it touched the NPC behind him, it rippled outward.

Immediately refilling the NPC’s scarf that was running low on energy!

The NPC did the same, emitting an interactive short wave.

It also replenished Yin’s energy just as he was about to land.

And so, Hei controlled by Yin first plummeted to the ground and then, with renewed energy, glided a distance along the ground before soaring straight up!

The wide red cloak fluttered in the wind, playing a symphony of the breeze in mid-air.

"What the? There’s actually a way to play like this?" Yin was stunned, and when he ran low on energy next time, he tried it again.

"Well, turns out the NPC is like my portable charger, and I can charge it too. That way, both of us can fly without touching the ground all the way!"

The feeling of flight was graceful; the top player made the game impeccable, striving for realism, especially when sand sliding.
