Chapter 590: Chapter 185: Mr. Ke Flirting, A Complete Mess! (Transition Chapter, Recommended to Skip Subscription)_2
Although the essence of this attraction is akin to the motorcycle roller coasters found in most 4A-level amusement parks, the entirely enclosed venue, adorned with futuristic LED light rings throughout, still offers a sense of magical teleportation when riding it.
What left the deepest impression on Ke Jin, and what his two younger sisters enjoyed most, was the signature entertainment facility of Disney, the "Pirates of the Caribbean ship".
Initially, Ke Jin thought it was just a simulated imitation of a ship, with large screens on either side playing some 3D movies to briefly entertain the guests before moving on.
But the reality was quite different when he personally experienced it.
The ship was linked to rails at the bottom, but it actually went into the water.
As the ship moved forward slowly, with the spray of the waves and a gust of sea breeze in the face, Ke Jin even began to suspect that Disney had really gone to the trouble of filling the place with actual sea water.
The localized voice-over of the Caribbean IP series, along with the three-dimensional surround sound music, was an immersive experience.
As the ship sailed through the underwater caverns, many of the IP-related derivative characters appeared along the route.
The most shocking moment for Ke Jin was when the ship submerged into the depths of the sea.
Disney cleverly used 5D giant screens, three-dimensional reverberation, and the sensation of weightlessness of the ship, as various fish swam freely past before their eyes.
It created a visual illusion for the visitors as if they were genuinely submerging into the seabed.
The guests on the ship also let out excited cries at that moment.
Later, the explosion sequence utilizing the same technology also unfolded before everyone like a blockbuster film.
After the ship carrying the guests entered the cramped interior of a sunken ship,
a huge explosion began to occur on the big ship behind them.
Flames shot up into the sky, and the three-dimensional sound of the explosion enveloped them like thunder, while water began to seep into the cabin, causing waves to splash everywhere; the water level inside the cabin also started to rise rapidly!
Along with the violent rocking of the ship, the background music also became increasingly high-pitched and intense!
It caused the guests on the ship to genuinely believe a disaster was occurring, their faces turning pale as they shouted in panic and confusion.
It was only when the ship steadily escaped and arrived at a cave filled with mountains of gold and treasure that everyone came to their senses, realizing that all of it was just special effects.
But the more realistic it was, the more it amazed the visitors!
They were not afraid it was real,
but rather that it was fake, yet it could achieve such lifelike effects!
The immersive sensation brought by this 5D virtual technology made it extremely difficult to distinguish between illusion and reality, and it was truly astonishing!
After one round, even as they exited the venue, the two chirping spirit birds at his side were still excitedly recalling the scenes they had just witnessed.
However, after experiencing the Pirates of the Caribbean ship, Ke Jin fell into deep thought.
If this technology could be applied to video games,
players would be over the moon, wouldn’t they?
Just think about it.
Unlike traditional VR or AR devices, players must first wear bulky equipment over their eyes, and some even need to don a helmet.
The weight of these devices on the body would subconsciously remind players they were in a virtual world.
And their movements would be limited.
Most of them involve wearing corresponding sensor devices.
Even if the technology develops in the future and the sensor devices support more detailed motion simulation, the price of this equipment would be astronomical, far beyond what the average player could afford.
In contrast, Disney created a glasses-free 5D projection, where visitors only needed to sit on a ship, and simply by moving with the ship, they could experience an immersive feeling without any burden.
And because they weren’t wearing any devices, it felt like embarking on a solo adventure, making the immersion feel even more real and intense.
"If Top Player could also build a game-themed amusement park..." Ke Jin imagined it with his eyes closed.
Even if it was just a segment of a game, if it were created to match the scenes of the Pirates of the Caribbean ship.
Whether it’s entering the Elden Ring scene, pushing open a door to be greeted by the vast West Fantasy Continent, with a Big Tree Guardian riding a golden horse approaching, and looking up to see the dazzling golden tree that connects heaven and earth in the distance,
or in 2077, as players step out onto the street, they find themselves among the intertwining neon lights of a cybernetic futuristic style.
Not to mention the big scenes.
Just turning the small segment where Ethan is in his father-in-law’s house in Resident Evil 7, into a real-life maze attraction,
with a chase sequence added,
The impact would be far stronger than any haunted house...
Although Ke Jin was a designer, he was also a hardcore gamer in his previous life.
If these scenes could really be created in reality,
he couldn’t even imagine how much fun those games would be...
When Top Player was established, Ke Jin had already envisioned similar content in his mind.
One limitation was the technological bottleneck,
another was that accomplishing this level of reality, even just for a small scene, would require an enormous amount of capital, easily running into tens of millions.
Therefore, he had shelved this bold idea.
But looking at the situation now,
the technology seemed to be maturing slowly.
Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean ship had achieved excellent visual and auditory presentations.
The degree of physical sensation was slightly lacking,
but it should be noted that this attraction was completed seven or eight years ago, with only incremental enhancements to the experience in the recent years.
