Chapter 570: Chapter 181: Silencing All Competitors! The Only True God in the Pigeon Meat Industry—YS, Steps Forward!_2

Upon entering the game, Josiah found himself in a dimly lit dungeon.

The game’s perspective was a top-down layout.

The tutorial for newcomers was directly drawn on the ground in a childlike art style.

WASD keys control character movement.

The arrow keys control the shooting direction.

Press the E key to drop bombs.

The spacebar uses active items.

Press the Q key to use cards/capsules.

The tutorial was indeed simple and was presented in an innovative way.

What’s more crucial was that Josiah discovered after entering the game.

The art style of Isaac was not as simple as that of the game UI.

Although it still followed a minimalist child art style.

But this little dwarf Isaac, blushing slightly with whiteness, and staring with big teary eyes at the screen, seemed somewhat cute.

"Okay, clearly I can’t criticize this art style," Josiah thought to himself.

He wasn’t a game designer, but as a game review blogger who had played no small number of games.

This level of graphics couldn’t be said to be extraordinarily outstanding, but definitely not bad either.

Focusing on this aspect for criticism, aside from looking like an idiot, wouldn’t garner any agreement from the audience.

Following the tutorial’s guidance, he tried shooting.

Josiah was slightly surprised to find that.

Although the game was a top-down 2D bullet hell game.

The bullet setting was quite unique.

Instead of the traditional guns, it was the little boy Isaac’s tears that he controlled!

Using plump, round tears as bullets!

When this setup appeared, it spurred a lively discussion amidst the barrage of comments.

Most players thought it was a novel and fun concept and looked good.

Josiah then quickly turned his attention to the game interface’s upper left corner.

There, a pale red die was Isaac’s initial active item.

"Press the spacebar to use active items, right? Let’s see what this D6 die does," Josiah said, and tapped the spacebar.

In the screen, an animation for rolling the die appeared.

But soon after, the initial room returned to silence.

As if nothing had happened.

"Huh?"

"What does this mean?"

Josiah scratched his head in confusion.

After waiting a moment without any response, he decided to ignore it and, controlling Isaac, left the starting room to begin exploring the unknown rooms ahead.

Upon entering a new room, he encountered new enemies.

There were several creatures bouncing back and forth on the ground, looking quite like Isaac himself but headless.

Beyond that, several mounds of dark yellow feces rolled up on the ground were notably eye-catching.

"oh shit..." Josiah frowned slightly at this sight.

"Seriously, what are these things?"

"Headless bouncing corpses and poop?"

"Are these elements really okay to use in a game?"

"What was the lead game designer thinking?"

Having held back through two whole projects.

Finally finding a point to critique, Josiah didn’t hold back his verbal barrage, but his hands were busy too.

He certainly didn’t want to get a face-full from the sanity-draining Jumping enemies.

He controlled Isaac to move and shoot tears at the same time.

Since the game didn’t display health bars for monsters, Josiah had no idea how many hits it would take to kill them.

And the Jumping enemies’ landing spots were especially unpredictable, hopping here one moment and there the next, making it hard to determine their movement patterns.

Add to that the obstacles from the poop.

With just three Jumping enemies in the room, it took Josiah a full minute to kill one.

His health also dropped from three hearts to just one remaining heart.

He even earned the ’Rookie’ title bestowed by the barrage of comments.

"The host can’t even aim properly, it’s so frustrating to watch."

"Can’t get past the first level, is that it?"

"Can’t aim in a game, how will you ever succeed?"

"If one day you really need to fight for real, will you not be able to aim then as well?"

Reading the comments, Josiah got visibly irked.

"Come on, guys, this really isn’t about whether I can aim or not. Once you play this game, you’ll understand. It requires coordination between the left and right hands, with the left hand controlling the movement and the right hand shooting tears. And the targets keep jumping around, so you wouldn’t do any better!"

"Alright, alright, so you’re saying your fans can’t do it, huh? I’m unfollowing."

While the viewers were teasing and interacting with Josiah.

Suddenly.

"Pop~"

A crisp sound of something bursting rang out.

Josiah, in a fluster, controlled Isaac whose tears hit a pile of poop.

The latter was quickly obliterated by the bullets, clearing the obstacle terrain and revealing a shiny Gold Coin.

"Huh? You can destroy this pile of shit?"

"Why didn’t you say so earlier!"

Comments: "Tears are water, and water can wash away poop, makes sense right? :)"

"So the question is, can a Gold Coin covered in poop still buy things?"

"Why not, if you agree to give me a kilo of gold covered in poop, then you’ll become the best friend I’ve ever had in my life, XD"

"How come the moment I join the stream, you guys start discussing pee, poop, and fart? Is this the Hard Core Area of Europe and America?"

Josiah was more focused on what was in front of him than on the jokes in the comments.

This time his goal was clear, to first clear all the obstructive poop around with his tears.
