Chapter 351: Chapter 130: Waving Swords is Fun for a Moment, Constantly Waving Swords is Always Fun!_1
Park Joonshow had long been immune to all sorts of abuse.
Moreover, having taken Netcom’s advertising fee, he had to make an extra effort to hype it up.
After opening the game interface, the ink-wash coloring of the startup UI appeared.
The four brush-written characters of "Eternity" were bold and unrestrained, with strokes and hooks that fully captured the essence of martial chivalry.
"The brush writing from our Huaxia Nation is simply too fantastic!" Park Joonshow seized the moment to rave about it.
But this wave of praise didn’t even allow the audience to muster their usual complaints.
"This brush writing really does seem quite good."
"I do appreciate the calligraphy lineage from Huaxia."
"We need to hurry and apply to designate brush writing as heritage!"
Soon, Park Joonshow clicked to load the game and entered the tutorial.
Before everyone’s eyes was a blind female character with a lithe figure, dressed in light red plain clothes with her long hair tied into a ponytail, exuding a sense of valor and chivalry.
After officially beginning the tutorial, Park Joonshow followed the system’s guide and familiarized himself with the character’s basic moves.
They were divided into two combat systems.
Three left clicks delivered attacks with horizontal coverage, and three right clicks did the same but with a vertical emphasis.
Besides that, there was a simple Jump Attack as well as Rising Dragon Attack.
The moves could be mixed and matched at will.
The system also provided a wooden dummy dressed in plain clothes, standing still, for players to practice their skills.
Following the guide, Park Joonshow wielded his Longsword, his swings cleaving through the air, then held down to charge up, unleashing a Sword Qi that pierced the air with a faint whistling sound.
The swift Sword Qi sent the dummy flying and crashing to the ground.
The dummy’s health dropped rapidly.
"Wow! Our Huaxia martial arts games really are different! Each move is full of aesthetic beauty! It’s almost like the epitome of martial arts!" Park Joonshow’s words were better left unsaid; the more he hyped, the more doubts were cast by the audience’s comments.
"Are you blind? Isn’t this just the most basic combo? Any action game could achieve this level of expression, right?"
"Even without considering other factors, this is only moderately good, right?"
"I thought a game made by Huaxia would have something special, but this is it? This made me laugh!"
"Damn Park, stop hyping it up; I feel embarrassed for the game developers of Huaxia."
"You seriously think this can stand up against ’Reviving Martial World’? If I were with ’Reviving Martial World,’ I’d be disgusted!"
Glancing at the comments, Park Joonshow kept his composure and proceeded with the tutorial.
Soon, it was time for the second round of skill training.
"Eternity" gave each character one major and one minor skill, each with three branches, with players only being able to carry one from each during a match.
Ning Hongye, as a control-type character, her minor skill "Kunlun Decision" series, primarily focused on controlling/weakening the enemy.
One branch knocked the enemy airborne, another silenced them, and the third reduced healing.
Her ultimate, "Crimson Practice Ignorance," served as her main control method.
After activating, it would expand a purple spherical force field centered around Ning Hongye, enveloping nearby enemies.
Once fully charged, enemies would be stunned.
That was Ning Hongye’s best opportunity to deal damage.
After trying the skills a few times, Park Joonshow exclaimed, "Wow! Are these the skills of Huaxia martial arts? Such a brilliant design concept!"
Again, he faced a barrage of negative comments.
"Have you run out of things to say?"
"Just admit that this Huaxia martial arts game is trash, I’m begging you. Seeing you struggle to find words is just pathetic!"
"Doesn’t ’Reviving Martial World’ have similar skills? Although the implications are different, the ability to stun enemies or silence them, this really isn’t anything special, okay? I beg you, play a few more games before you start hyping this one, I can’t stand to watch!"
"You’re like a clown in a circus, Damn Park."
To tell the truth, even Park Joonshow himself was beginning to sweat by now.
When he had accepted this endorsement, Netcom from Huaxia Nation had assured him repeatedly that this was a game that would definitely not disappoint, and that he could wholeheartedly promote it.
Plus, the sponsor had given a generous amount, so Park Joonshow readily agreed.
In the past, he had also taken endorsements for some Huaxia products, and though some of his praises were a bit overstated, those products at least had some genuine quality.
Being able to run international advertisements meant the product was recognized by the masses domestically in Huaxia.
So regardless of how much he promoted it, there would always be some people in his livestream who, after listening, would think "it seems there’s something to it, let’s give it a try."
But now...
After going through two rounds of the tutorial with this game, Park Joonshow genuinely felt at a loss for words.
Mediocrity!
It was too mediocre.
During Normal Attacks, it somewhat encompassed the frame of a martial arts game, with each movement casting phantom afterimages and amidst the clashing of blades and weapons, the fluttering of robes and the clanging of metal had a flavor of Huaxia’s own martial arts style.
But this wasn’t enough to be a selling point.
And when it came to the second round of displaying skills,
It was even more ordinary.
In fact, one might say it lacked any distinctive features.
There are so many action games on the market with far more interesting skill sets than these.
’Reviving Martial World’ next door, with their skill + Ordinary Attack combinations, had more variety than "Eternity’s" and were more innovative.
