Chapter 289: Chapter 116: Hallelujah!_1

"Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to Dai’s live game stream of ’BioShock: Infinite’."

The game had just been released, and Dai had decisively started the live stream.

As a video game strategy guide creator in the single-player game section, Dai had garnered over three million followers on Thunderbolt.

Known for his gentle commentary and meticulously detailed guides, he often took into account the experiences of new players, providing game guidance that many veteran players would not bother to explain.

He was like a mother guiding her child with endless patience, and so his fans affectionately nicknamed him Mother Dai.

"Mama, good afternoon!"

"Hello Mother Dai!"

"Wow, is Dai actually live streaming? That’s rare."

Beyond the usual greetings from the regular viewers, some had spotted an anomaly.

"Wait, what’s the game he’s streaming? ’Infinite’?? Holy crap, isn’t this game supposed to be released in three days?"

One comment stirred up a thousand waves.

Suddenly, the screen was awash with busy comments.

"Huh??"

"Am I seeing a game that should’ve come out on December 1st, on November 28th? Did I travel through time?"

"Be bold, we’ve all traveled through time./Dog Head"

"Baby Ke is mighty! It’s not just that they make good games, but they can even make the whole world time-travel by three days. We’ve found out why the top players develop games so fast!/Smirk"

"No, I’ve seen companies delay releases, but who’s ever heard of a game releasing early? Baby Ke games messing with me, the top-up page messing with me, now even the release date is messing with me, huh!"

"Alright, alright, they said it’d be out on December 1st, but releasing it early is still a no-show, at least for the time slot of 12.1. So, Baby Ke should be punished by making another game right away and releasing it on 12.1! Don’t be ungrateful!"

"The top player’s gonna drop two games at once, huh? Trying to overwhelm us players? Huh?"

"Top players don’t nurture slackers; I believe they can do it./Dog Head with a flower"

Dai scanned the lively atmosphere in an instant and chuckled while downloading the game.

"I believe many of you have heard about the quality of ’Infinite’s demo these past two days. The top player daring to release it early, though I don’t know what happened, must still be very confident."

No sooner had he finished speaking than a comment rebutted him.

"Stop, stop, stop, Mother Dai, don’t jinx it. I’ve seen too many games where the demo was good, but the full game was a mess... I’m scared your praise will jinx the full game of ’Infinite’..."

"Bird food, after all, a demo usually features the most polished part of the entire game, and sometimes the content in the demo isn’t even in the full game; it tends to just be a hodgepodge of highlights stitched together, ending up a mess."

"Not to mention too much detail, just the graphics optimization alone. The demo’s small size allows for repeated optimization to the best state, but surely the game’s full version won’t be based on the demo’s quality."

"If ’Infinite’s demo can score 9.5, I’ll be satisfied if the full game reaches 7 points. After all, this is the first time the top player tried making a 3D blockbuster, right? Don’t set the bar too high; as long as they get the shooting part right, that’d be a success."

"Fine." The comments weren’t really picking fights, and Dai nodded, turning his gaze to the game screen.

Soon after, the game finished downloading.

The buyout price of 135 yuan was not expensive compared to traditional 3D games.

And given the style of the top player, this 135 was the total price of the game, with no further in-game purchases.

Quickly after unpacking and installing,

’Infinite’ soon took over the entire computer screen at full-screen.

A dark screen appeared, followed by the logo of the top player.

Then, the Oasis logo emerged.

It seemed that the top player had plans to establish a game subsidiary, and this gif animation of an oasis in the midst of a desert had been seen numerous times before by the audience in the ’League of Legends’ champions preview videos.

After a brief black screen that lasted two seconds,

a weary-sounding female voice rang out through the darkness.

"Do you fear God, Booker?"

"No, I’m afraid of you."

A conversation with deep implications had concluded.

Text immediately followed, appearing on the other side of the screen.

’The human brain will strive to create some groundless memories and believe them to be true’

————The challenge of crossing parallel universes

——R. Luster, 1889"

"This passage is quite straightforward to understand," Dai, with his habit of providing thorough explanations, couldn’t help explaining, in case some of the new viewers didn’t understand, simplifying it by saying,

"Have you ever felt confused upon waking up, forgetting what time you went to sleep, how long you slept, and even what you did before bed? At these times, our brain automatically fills in logical behavior and associations, creating memories of things you might not have done, as long as it fits the current logical explanation."

"What he’s probably saying here is that after crossing parallel universes, you might forget some things and invent similar memories to compensate."

"After all, in the demo, it was shown that Elizabeth has the ability to tear through the fabric of space and time. This sentence highlighted by Designer Ke at the beginning of the game is most likely a foreshadowing."

As Dai was lightly speculating, the game had already entered into the actual gameplay.

’The year 1912.’

As the time display popped up in the lower-right corner.
