Chapter 141: 141 Triangle eyes

Restroom.

Several men with flushed faces and ruffian airs stood blocking the entrance, their faces bearing leering smiles, repeatedly calling into the inside.

"Beauty, don’t hide, we’re not bad guys, just want to make friends with you."

"Yeah, show some face."

"If you don’t come out, we might just come in to find you."

Their behavior clearly showed they were drunk.

Liang Zhenlun, who had arrived with Jiang Chen, saw this and immediately signaled to Bai Haoran with a look.

Understanding the situation, Bai Haoran nodded, his face grim as he surveyed the few men bolstered by their liquor, and walked aside to make a phone call.

Although there were only four of them blocking the way, which wasn’t many, who could guarantee that there were no more of their companions in the bar?

"It’s them!"

Yao Bifu, who had originally planned to call for security, nervously hid behind Jiang Chen.

"Don’t be afraid."

Liang Zhenlun comforted her with a word and then strode forward with an imposing air.

"Gentlemen, isn’t it a bit inappropriate for you to be standing at the entrance to the ladies’ restroom?"

Liang Zhenlun was indeed quite well-known at East Sea University, with significant influence; most people would give him face, but outside of school, it wasn’t so effective.

These brutes had no clue who he was, and with alcohol fuelling their courage and the advantage in numbers, they barked fiercely, "What’s it to you? Kid, if you don’t want trouble, you better leave now."

"She’s my friend inside."

Zhen Lun didn’t move an inch.

"Oh ho, trying to stand up for her, huh?"

One of the men with triangular eyes made a weird noise, twisted his shoulders, and, along with the other brutes, began to crowd around Liang Zhenlun.

"Don’t you fear being thrown out by the bar for causing trouble here?"

Jiang Chen didn’t let Liang Zhenlun face the brunt alone; seeing these men were about to get physical, he stepped out in time.

At a glance, he could tell they were just a bunch of thugs and hoodlums, nothing serious; although it’s hard to articulate, there is a tangible aspect to one’s aura.

Moreover, considering the marketing positioning of the bar catered to not very high-status individuals, those with a certain level of prestige generally didn’t frequent this place.

Of course.

Even if the bar was targeting a lower-end market, the owner had some background, and wasn’t someone these lowlifes and thugs could afford to offend.

Indeed, upon hearing Jiang Chen’s words, the brutes visibly faltered.

Harassing women was trivial, but starting a brawl in the bar and disrupting business was something the owner certainly wouldn’t tolerate politely.

"Kid, just you wait."

After thinking it over, the man with triangular eyes still opted for rational restraint, dropped a threatening remark, and then led his clique away with great reluctance. Their departing glances were enough to prove they would not let the matter drop easily.

"Senior Jiang, it’s okay, Brother Bai has gone to call people."

Jiang Chen nodded and turned to Yao Bifu, "Let her come out."

Yao Bifu ran into the restroom,

and after a while, Luo Li’er, whose popularity at East Sea University was even threatening to overshadow Li Shuru, came out. On her exquisitely flawless comic-like face, there was no sign of the panic Jiang Chen had expected, just some natural anger from being harassed.

"Thank you."

But faced with her rescuers, Jiang Chen and Liang Zhenlun, she managed to keep her emotions in check and politely expressed her gratitude.

This girl clearly had more courage than she appeared to have.

"Did you two come here together?"

Jiang Chen asked.

"Yes."

Luo Li’er nodded her head.

She actually never came to such places, but Yao Bifu had an argument at home today and was in a bad mood. She insisted on dragging her out to drink, which resulted in encountering the hooligans.

Of course.

About these, she wasn’t in a position to elaborate.

"Junior Luo, it’s extremely dangerous for two girls to come to a place like this, you should at least have a few ’Flower Guardians’ accompanying you,"

Liang Zhenlun joked.

He had of course heard of this junior’s reputation.

"It’s my fault, I insisted on dragging Li’er here."

Yao Bifu was full of regret. She had been too optimistic about the world, thinking they were just going to have some drinks and nothing serious would happen. If Luo Li’er had really suffered any harm, she would have blamed herself for the rest of her life.

"Enough with the long face, I and Senior Jiang have already driven them off."

"Will those people come back?"

Yao Bifu was still somewhat nervous and uneasy.

"Don’t worry, with us here, no one dares to touch you."

Liang Zhenlun smiled confidently.

One had to admit, at times like this, he did have a certain masculine charm.

"Mr. Jiang, Mr. Liang, it will take some time for my people to arrive. We might need to stay here a little longer,"

Bai Haoran walked back after finishing his phone call.

The gang wouldn’t likely give up so easily. If things went as expected, there was an eight out of ten chance they would be waiting outside the bar to ambush them. Exiting rashly could lead to trouble.

"Then we’ll just sit for a while longer."

Liang Zhenlun was not tense at all. He’d been through this kind of situation many times and with Bai Haoran present, there really wasn’t much to fear.

While Bai Haoran wasn’t exactly a major figure in society, dealing with a few low-level hooligans was a piece of cake for him.

"It looks like we have to bother you two juniors to stay a bit longer."

"That’s okay."

Luo Li’er was empathetic.

The group sat back down at the bar. The lights were dim, and the crowded space made it impossible to spot the few thugs. Maybe they had already left.

"Didn’t Liang Zhenlun steal his girlfriend? Why is he sitting together with him having drinks?"

Once away from danger, the inherent gossipy nature of the women surfaced.

"Keep your voice down."

Jiang Chen ordered them two glasses of lemon water.

"Don’t worry, they can’t hear us."

Yao Bifu whispered, curiously observing Jiang Chen and Liang Zhenlun chatting and drinking, feeling completely baffled.

"I might not be able to go back with you later,"

Luo Li’er suddenly said.

"Why?"

Yao Bifu was puzzled, "Aren’t you going back to the school?"

Luo Li’er held her translucent lemon water and shook her head.

"My sister is sending someone to pick me up."

"Your sister?"

Yao Bifu’s eyes widened.

"Yes, I called my sister from the restroom just now."

Under that kind of situation, claiming she wasn’t scared at all would be a lie. Luo Li’er certainly wouldn’t just sit and wait to be captured. The first thing she did after being cornered in the toilet was to call her cousin.

"Oh,"

Yao Bifu responded, indicating she understood.

She knew Luo Li’er had a sister in East Sea, which was one reason she chose to study there. However, despite being there for so long, Yao Bifu had never met her. Whenever she brought it up, Luo Li’er was evasive or changed the subject, always maintaining an air of mystery.

"Li’er, you better send your sister a message quickly, so she doesn’t worry."

"I know."

Without Yao Bifu’s reminder, Luo Li’er had already taken out her phone and sent a text message. After sending it, she showed no sign of relief. Sipping her lemon water through the straw, her face soured,

she was certainly in for a scolding this time.
