Chapter 1003: 715 party (2)

Whether there can be pure friendship between men and women is a long-standing and highly controversial topic, and to this day, there has been no conclusive answer.

However, at least Mao Dun seemingly had no such romantic intentions toward Tong Dan.

Different strokes for different folks.

Not every man is an animal driven by his lower half, ogling every woman and itching to get physical, especially the sons of wealthy families.

Due to their high social status, women are not a scarce resource for them, much like the scene just now where Yu Feihong was "spending money like water."

Just by beckoning with a finger—no, by giving a glance—those beauties, oblivious to the cold, would eagerly and willingly become a warm bed companion, but could Yu Feihong even handle that?

Men are not women.

There’s a saying, there is no field that’s been overfarmed, just oxen that have been worked to death.

To put it more colloquially, some are full to bursting; others are starving; that’s the inconsistency of the world.

The goddess of your dreams may throw herself at someone who couldn’t be less interested.

So Mao Dun probably just considered Tong Dan a friend.

Of course, Tong Dan felt the same.

Indeed.

As a flight attendant, how could she date a man who’s afraid of flying? To put it lightly, it’s a clash of characteristics; more seriously, it’s outright incompatible.

"Ladies, see? Remember his face. This is what a playboy looks like. In the future, if you encounter a man with this appearance, stay far away."

They chatted for a bit until Yu Feihong left; he was likely the organizer of this party or perhaps the owner of this air garden villa.

Otherwise, no guest would overshadow the host so at someone else’s venue.

"What about you? You are friends; you can’t be much better, right?"

Tong Dan teased skeptically.

"How can I be the same as him? He changes his female companions almost daily. Even if I wanted to, I don’t have the capacity."

The two really were best at being bad influences on each other, immediately tearing each other down after Yu Feihong had left.

"It seems you do want to, you just don’t have the strength to. With such a good relationship, why don’t you ask him for some tips?"

Tong Dan joked.

She may not have had much romantic experience, but she had seen plenty of men. A playboy like Yu Feihong was nothing new to her.

Which man isn’t fickle?

It’s only a matter of capability.

Some people see such behaviors and react like they’ve been injected with adrenaline, immediately transform into moral guardians, furiously writing online, criticizing heavily, yet deep down they wish they could be embraced from both sides.

As long as it’s not deception or coercion, and all parties are willing, outsiders have no right to criticize.

Casanova and sleazebag are not the same.

Tong Dan, of course, knew all about that scumbag Yu, even if she’d only met him once; at least he was shameless about it.

On that note alone, he was better than some hypocritically virtuous people.

"Me, ask him for advice? What, on how to pick up girls? Let me tell you, we’ve known each other since middle school, and back then he was so shy he couldn’t even talk to girls, let alone flirt. He’d blush just from a girl talking to him..."

Tong Dan, quick-witted, immediately caught on to what he meant and retorted sarcastically, "Don’t tell me his womanizing skills were taught by you."

It’s hard to imagine a girl speaking so bluntly.

Perhaps that’s why Tong Dan, as a flight attendant, managed to attract these privileged young men.

"Bingo."

Mao Dun snapped his fingers. "Congratulations, you got it right."

Tong Dan scoffed, "Look at him, always surrounded by beauty, then look at you, a lonely old man. I’ve never seen anyone with a thicker face than yours..."

Their banter kept Fang Qing laughing nonstop, making her feel this night was rather worthwhile.

Suddenly, Tong Dan paused mid-sentence, seemingly struck by a thought, and switched tracks, "No, you’re not the thickest-skinned, barely second place."

The carefree and wealthy Mao Dun wasn’t embarrassed but rather seemed to challenge, "Someone ranks before me?"

"Living under a rock? Let me tell you, you wouldn’t even touch the thickness of that guy’s face; you’re chasing dust."

Tong Dan educated earnestly.

Fang Qing knew exactly who she was talking about and couldn’t help but laugh without joining the conversation.

"Having such a lively chat."

Ding He, who went to take a call, returned.

"Lawyer Ding, you’re back just in time. I have a legal question to ask you."

As a lawyer, and a well-known one at that, Ding He’s emotional control was unquestionable. He concealed the displeasure the phone call had caused and stopped himself from making his excuses.

This wasn’t the right moment to leave; it would be impolite.

"Go ahead."

He managed a patient smile.

"What do you think is the most interesting law in our country?"

Upon hearing this, Fang Qing and Tong Dan also turned their attention his way.

Ding He pondered for a moment.

"It should be something that often comes up on TV. In our country, criminal suspects have no right to remain silent. The criminal policy ’leniency for those who confess, severity for those who resist’ mandates that if you refuse to answer law enforcement’s questions, you’ll be deemed as refusing to admit guilt, hence worsening your punishment."

"Lawyer Ding, don’t look at me like that. I’ve been a triple-good student since the first grade of primary school, always abiding by the law and never doing anything bad."

Mao Dun professed earnestly with an upright expression.
