I Got My System Late, But I'll Become Beastgod
Chapter 140: A Strange Beast

Chapter 140: A Strange Beast

The jungle air was thick with humidity as the sun peeked through the high canopy, its golden light bouncing off dew-covered leaves. Aamir stood shirtless, sweat dripping down his brow, fists clenched as he faced Vyuk in a clearing. The ground beneath them was scarred with dents, cracked rocks, and signs of intense training.

"Come on, kid," Vyuk smirked, cracking his knuckles. "That raw strength of yours... it’s not normal. This Adrenaline Energy—are you even sure you’re human?"

Aamir wiped sweat from his face with the back of his arm and exhaled hard. "You’ve seen it yourself. My strength isn’t borrowed. It’s mine. Adrenaline Energy boosts my power during battle, makes me faster, sharper. And the more I use it... the more it changes me."

Vyuk raised a brow. "Changes you?"

"It strengthens my body permanently," Aamir said with a confident grin. "I don’t just get stronger in battle—I stay stronger after every fight. I can break a small building with a punch now."

Vyuk circled him slowly, arms behind his back. "Sure, outside this dungeon that’s impressive. But here?"

He gestured toward a nearby boulder—massive, unmoved despite the shattered earth around it.

"You couldn’t even crack that."

Aamir frowned, frustrated. "It’s not my fault the things in this world are tougher than outside. Even trees here have muscle fibers, I swear."

Vyuk chuckled. "That’s why you’re here. This dungeon isn’t just a prison. It’s a forge. And you’re the raw metal."

Suddenly, the wind shifted.

Both Vyuk and Aamir turned their heads.

A loud, echoing BOOM rocked the forest, followed by a screeching cry and flocks of bird-like beasts erupting into the air. The ground trembled slightly. A thick plume of black smoke rose in the distance.

Aamir’s eyes widened. "That’s coming from our side—my house."

Without a word, both of them dashed toward the source.

They moved like streaks of light, dodging trees and leaping over roots as panic spread through the forest. Small creatures ran in all directions. Something had disturbed the balance.

When they finally reached the clearing near Aamir’s hut, the scene was chaos.

His house—hand-built from stone and beast hide—was half destroyed. The roof was gone. One side of the structure was torn clean off like it had been clawed by a titan.

And in the center of the devastation stood a monstrous beast.

A black fox, nearly the size of a carriage, its fur soaked in oily shadows that dripped like ink. Its limbs were long and sinewy, and its eyes—completely white—glowed with an unnatural light. A dark aura twisted around its form, flickering like smoke yet heavier than any shadow.

In front of it stood Hornhead, bleeding, barely standing, his side scorched by a recent attack. Behind him, smaller beasts cowered behind trees, terrified but unwilling to flee.

The fox raised its claw again.

"Hornhead!" Aamir shouted.

Without thinking, he bolted forward, leaping high—and with all his might, punched the fox’s claw mid-air.

CRACK!

The blow deflected the beast’s strike, sending it stumbling back.

Aamir landed in front of Hornhead, gently placing a hand on his head.

"You did well, buddy," Aamir said, his voice soft with concern. "I’ll handle it now. Go rest."

Hornhead hesitated but nodded, limping back into the shadows with the others.

Aamir turned his eyes toward the black fox. His gaze, usually warm and playful, was now cold—piercing.

"You destroyed my house," he said. "I could’ve let that go."

He stepped forward, voice sharpening.

"But you hurt my friends. And that... I won’t forgive."

The fox’s lips curled into a snarl. But then it spoke.

Its voice was distorted, layered, unnatural—like many voices speaking at once.

"You are a mere insect. I do not care for your shelter or your pathetic beasts. All shall be consumed."

Aamir’s eyes widened. "You can talk?!"

He quickly opened his palm toward the beast, and a crimson-red System screen shimmered into existence in front of him.

Appraisal

Name:Corrupted Void Foxide

Level:6

Type:Beast (Void Mutation)

Status:Corrupted

Notes:Caution — This entity is not in natural form. Highly unstable.

Aamir narrowed his eyes. "Void Foxide? I’ve fought a few of them before in simulations... but they’re nowhere near this big."

He tapped the system screen, scrolling through the log. "Highest level I’ve seen is 4—and that too was in group combat. This one’s stronger... different."

His eyes stopped at the word ’Corrupted’ pulsing in deep red.

"What does that even mean? This isn’t just evolution... this is something else. Something unnatural."

He shook his head, eyes refocusing.

"No time to figure that out now. I need to finish this thing before it causes more harm."

His fists lit up again in roaring blue flames as he lowered into a fighting stance.

The fox’s head tilted unnaturally. "You’re different from the others. That energy in you... I want it."

Aamir narrowed his eyes and clenched his fists. "Then come take it, freak."

Before the fox could lunge again, a sudden gust of wind rustled the leaves—Vyuk appeared beside Aamir in an instant, like he’d stepped out of the air itself. His expression was unreadable, but his body was already in motion.

The fox pounced, emerging from a swirling void portal behind Aamir with its claws raised.

Aamir’s instincts kicked in. He turned, his flame-cloaked fist shooting forward with a roar of blue fire—but the beast shifted mid-air, narrowly dodging.

"Tch—!" Aamir grit his teeth, bracing for impact.

But Vyuk didn’t hesitate.

In one seamless motion, he reached out and grabbed Aamir’s wrist mid-swing. With a forceful twist, he redirected the momentum and slammed Aamir’s burning fist directly into the fox’s skull as it lunged past.

BOOM!

The impact sent the beast crashing sideways into a cluster of trees, snapping trunks like twigs. A cloud of ash and smoke burst outward from the blow.

Aamir landed on his feet, sliding slightly, chest rising and falling.

His stance remained solid—panting, but unwavering.

He shot Vyuk a look. "Thanks for the... guidance."

Vyuk smirked. "Next time, don’t miss."

The fox staggered, flames still licking across its head. But then...

Its eyes snapped open.

FWUUM!

The air behind Aamir distorted—ripping like fabric—as a swirling dark portal opened mid-air.

Aamir’s instincts screamed.

Before he could even turn, the fox emerged from the portal, completely unharmed, its maw wide open.

"WHAT—!"

CLASH!

Just in time, Aamir ducked and spun, avoiding the beast’s bite by a hair. The fox soared past him, landing gracefully with a vicious snarl.

"It... teleported?" Aamir muttered, stunned. "No... it’s not teleportation. It’s creating a rift... stepping through space."

The beast grinned—or at least, something like a grin—before its body flickered again.

Another ripple in the air, another void gate forming.

This time it didn’t attack—it simply began circling Aamir, vanishing into one portal and appearing from another. The portals opened not just on the ground but mid-air, even sideways—bending logic.

"It’s toying with me," Aamir realized, eyes sharp. "Trying to disorient me."

He focused his senses, breathing in, calming his heart.

"Not gonna work."

Just then, the fox leaped from an overhead portal, aiming directly for Aamir’s back—

But a sudden white gust of force intercepted it mid-air.

BOOOOM!

The fox was blown back several meters, tumbling through bushes as Vyuk appeared beside Aamir like a streak of wind.

"That thing..." Vyuk growled. "It’s not just a beast. It’s corrupted."

"That thing..." Vyuk muttered. "It’s not just a beast. It’s corrupted."

"By what?"

"Something old. Something that shouldn’t exist here."

The fox growled and took a step forward. Vyuk reached into his robe and flicked a small white seed into the air.

BOOM!

A massive burst of wind pressure exploded from the seed, pushing the beast several meters back. It growled in frustration, clawing at the ground.

"Aamir," Vyuk said, eyes still locked on the creature, "I’ll hold it down. You end it."

Aamir nodded. "Gladly."

He activated his flames—not in rage, but in focus. Blue fire engulfed his arms, pulsing gently.

He dashed forward, dodging the fox’s tail swipe, and leaped high into the air. The fox opened its mouth, revealing rows of jagged shadow-fangs.

But Aamir twisted mid-air, spun, and drove a flaming punch straight into the beast’s skull.

BAM!

The fox roared as flames exploded from its head, its body writhing violently. It collapsed, still twitching.

Dark smoke hissed from its mouth.

The energy surrounding it began to crack and splinter—like a shell.

And then, it shattered.

The fox’s body disintegrated into black ash.

But just before the last traces vanished, a black orb of light—dense, pulsing—rose from the center of the remains and hovered for a moment... then shot straight into Aamir’s chest.

FWUMP!

Aamir staggered back half a step, gripping his chest. "What the—?"

Suddenly, his crimson System screen flashed to life in front of his eyes, flickering wildly before stabilizing into a sharp display.

New Skill Acquired!

Skill: Void Teleportation

Source: Corrupted Void Foxide

Rank: SS-Class

Description: User can open dimensional rifts to teleport within visible range or to previously visited locations. Requires precise spatial awareness. Initial use requires knowledge of current world coordinates.

Aamir blinked.

"I learned... a skill?" he whispered, astonished. "But how?"

Then it hit him.

"Wait... right. ’Permanent Copy’—my passive. I completely forgot I had that."

His eyes widened with excitement. "Does that mean I can finally teleport out of here?!"

But as he scrolled down to read the full description, his excitement quickly faded.

Usage Requirement:

To activate this skill for the first time, user must be fully aware of current world position.

Must also visualize a location previously visited or within visible range.

Long-distance or inter-world teleportation is currently locked.

Aamir’s smile died instantly.

"...Damn it."

He lowered his hand, sighing. "And here I thought I could just jump back to civilization."

Vyuk, watching nearby, raised an eyebrow. "What happened, kid? You looked happy for a second."

Aamir forced a grin. "Nothing. Just the universe teasing me, as usual."

Vyuk smirked. "Get used to it."

Silence returned to the jungle.

Aamir landed, breathing hard, but satisfied.

He turned to Vyuk. "What the hell was that thing?"

Vyuk didn’t answer immediately. He crouched near the ashes, examining them with narrowed eyes.

"Something... that shouldn’t be here," he murmured. "This energy... it doesn’t belong in this world."

"What do you mean?"

"It’s corruption. Not natural evolution. Not wild instinct. It was shaped—twisted."

Aamir frowned. "By what?"

Vyuk stood and looked at the horizon.

"I don’t know. But if these things are showing up now... your training just got more urgent."

Aamir dusted off his hands and looked back at his ruined house.

"Well," he muttered. "Guess I need to rebuild again."

Vyuk gave a small grin. "Good. Physical labor’s a part of training."

Aamir groaned. "I knew you’d say that."

They both laughed lightly—but inside, a sense of unease lingered.

Something was coming.

And this strange beast... was only the beginning.
