Chapter 101: Evolution

"That was a good move," Aamir said, his voice calm yet unwavering. "But it’s still not enough to defeat me."

Blue flames erupted across his body, licking his skin like living armor. Slowly, the bruises and cuts on his arms and torso began to vanish. Nikolai’s eyes widened, confusion etched into his face.

"How... how are your wounds healing?" he muttered, panting from the strain of his last attack.

Aamir glanced at his hands, watching the flames dance across them.

"Huh. Impressive," he thought. "It’s like a high-tier shield laced with healing magic."

Meanwhile, Nikolai clutched his chest, a sharp pain spreading through his ribs. He coughed, blood staining his lips, and fell to his knees.

Then—he roared.

The sky above trembled as a raw burst of energy exploded from within him.

Inside the observation room, King Veerendra leaned forward, his expression darkening.

"So... it’s happening, huh?" he murmured under his breath.

Back on the battlefield, Nikolai rose to his feet. His eyes burned red with fury. He charged at Aamir and threw a vicious punch. Aamir blocked it, but the force pushed him back several steps.

"No," Aamir whispered.

In the observation room, Veerendra continued his sentence.

"He’s fighting like a beast that’s lost all sense."

Aamir was dodging attack after attack, but Nikolai was relentless. He leapt into the air and slammed down an axe kick. Aamir crossed his arms to block, but the impact cracked the ground beneath his feet. His legs trembled under the weight of the blow.

"I have to stop him..." Aamir gritted his teeth.

A notification appeared in his mind:

New Skill Unlocked: Blue Phoenix’s Flame Punch

"What is this...?" Aamir muttered. "No time to think."

"Use Blue Phoenix’s Flame Punch!"

His fists ignited in sapphire fire, blazing with newfound strength. With a roar, Aamir hurled a punch toward Nikolai. The air tore apart as a colossal phoenix made of blue flames emerged from his fist, screeching as it soared into the sky. Thunder rolled. The weather turned violent—black clouds swirled above the stadium.

Then, with a thunderous cry, the phoenix dive-bombed toward the earth, its flames splitting the sky as it struck Nikolai.

The ground erupted in a sea of fire.

But just before the final blow could land, Aamir pulled back his fist. The flames died down. He had stopped himself from killing his opponent.

Nikolai knelt on the scorched battlefield, breathing heavily. Alive.

"It’s over," Aamir said.

But then—Nikolai screamed in agony. He collapsed to the ground, thrashing and clutching his body. Pain twisted his features.

And then... he went silent.

John, who had been watching the match from the sidelines, leapt onto the stage the moment the dust settled. He rushed toward Nikolai’s lifeless body, kneeling beside him and quickly checking his pulse and nerves. His eyes widened in horror.

"He... he’s dead," he whispered.

Aamir’s heart pounded. Doubt gnawed at his mind. He opened his system interface.

"System," he asked urgently, "Did he die because of my attack?"

No.

Cause of Death: Side-effects of the Forbidden Pill.

Aamir exhaled sharply, but frustration flared in his eyes.

"But... I have no way to prove it."

Before he could say more, one of the teachers stood from his seat—eyes cold, voice booming across the stadium. He was the one who gave Nikolai that pill.

"How dare you!" the teacher snarled. "You killed one of our students. You will pay the price."

Aamir stood up, trying to stay calm.

"What are you talking about? I didn’t kill him! He died because he took some kind of pill to boost his power—"

"Oh, really?" the teacher interrupted, stepping closer. "And do you have any proof?"

Aamir clenched his fists. But didn’t say anything.

"Exactly," the teacher sneered. "You don’t. You murdered him, and now you’ll face the consequences!"

Suddenly, the teacher’s aura flared with killing intent.

"Students! Attack him!"

In an instant, all the Calonian students present surged forward, surrounding Aamir in a tightening circle.

Aamir’s breathing grew erratic. Just then, his system interface blinked:

Congratulations!

New System Message: Evolution Begins Now

"No... what is this—evolution?" Aamir muttered, panic setting in.

A sharp, searing pain wracked his body. His bones felt like they were snapping, reforming. He dropped to his knees, screaming, his body convulsing.

The students didn’t stop. One drew his sword, stepping forward to strike.

But just as he raised his weapon—

A chilling voice echoed behind him.

"Move an inch... and you’ll die."

The student froze. A cold shiver crawled down his spine.

Behind him stood Kunal.

His eyes glowed a deep crimson, and murderous intent poured from him like a storm. Every Calonian student instinctively stepped back.

Kunal walked forward, stopping beside Aamir’s trembling form.

"Try to come near him," he said, voice like ice, "and I swear—none of you will leave here alive."

The teacher growled.

"Oh, really? Then let me try—"

But before he could take a step, a burning katana blocked his path.

"You won’t," said Seenu, flames dancing across his blade.

Moments later, Riya, Raj, and Meera appeared one by one, forming a protective circle around Aamir.

Aamir lay on the ground, his entire body writhing in pain. But his friends stood firm—protecting him.

No matter what.

Inside the observation room, Ivanka watched the chaos unfold, an evil smile curving her lips. But then, the smile vanished, replaced by fury.

"How dare that brat kill one of our best students... and now he dares to deny it?" she snapped. "Does he think we’re fools?!"

She turned sharply toward King Veerendra.

"You will pay for this, Veerendra."

But Veerendra’s expression remained calm.

"I don’t think so, Ivanka," he replied coldly.

Meanwhile, in the shadowy corner of the stadium, a cloaked figure sat watching everything. His voice was low but chilling.

"It’s time."

Suddenly, shadows stirred.

From every darkened corner of the arena, masked figures emerged—hundreds of them—completely surrounding Aryavrata’s students.

Aamir, still writhing in pain, suddenly began to feel a slight relief. The burning in his bones eased, and his vision cleared. Then, a flood of messages filled his mind:

Aamir slowly pushed himself up to his knees. His breathing was steady now. He could feel it—the shift in his body, the immense power coursing through his veins.

His fingers clenched into fists. The pain was gone.

"I can feel it... my strength," he whispered. "It’s on par with a Legend-level warrior."

The man who seemed to be the leader of the assassins stepped forward, his face hidden behind a silver mask. His voice was cold and final.

"All of Aryavrata dies today. No one leaves here alive."

In the observation room, Hyun Min-Jae turned sharply toward King Veerendra, concern flashing in his eyes.

"Lord Veerendra, your students are in danger. What will you do?"

Veerendra didn’t flinch. He simply stared at the chaos unfolding below.

"Nothing."

Hyun Min-Jae blinked. "What do you mean, ’nothing’?"

Veerendra finally looked at him, a small, knowing smile tugging at his lips.

"I mean exactly that. Nothing."

He leaned back in his seat, calm and composed.

"Because I don’t need to do anything."

Just as the assassins moved in, a thunderous voice echoed through the stadium.

"Well, I’m not so certain about that."

Everyone’s attention snapped to the source. A figure stood atop the stadium stands, arms crossed and gaze fierce.

It was Haider Ali.

He leapt down in one fluid motion, landing with a heavy thud in front of Aamir and his friends. The shockwave from his landing made the assassins step back.

"You think you can harm my students," Haider said, eyes burning, "and I’ll just stand here and watch?"

He looked straight at the masked leader.

"I’ll ask once. Who sent you?"

The masked man chuckled. "That’s not going to happen."

Haider’s eyes narrowed. "Then I have no choice."

Suddenly, another figure appeared beside him, landing lightly on his feet.

"Haider, trying to steal all the fun for yourself again?"

It was Shinroku, dressed in his black combat gear, a lazy smile on his face.

Haider smirked. "You’re welcome to join."

Shinroku cracked his knuckles, his eyes gleaming.

"Oh, I’m more than happy to."

Haider Ali stood tall, his presence radiating dominance as shadows loomed over the stadium. Without even turning to look, he spoke calmly:

"Hey, kids... can you still fight?"

Aamir, now risen to his feet and no longer in pain, clenched his fists and nodded firmly.

"Yes, sir. We can."

Haider smirked. "Good. Then I won’t need to keep an eye on you."

His tone shifted, sharp and commanding.

"Scatter. Protect every Aryavratan student you can find. Don’t let a single one fall."

Without hesitation, Aamir, Seenu, Meera, Riya, Raj, and Kunal darted in different directions, their resolve stronger than ever.

Haider cracked his knuckles, his gaze falling on the assassin forces surrounding them.

"Now then..."

He took a step forward, his aura igniting like a wildfire.

"Let’s begin."
