I Forged the Myth of the Ancient Overlords
Chapter 927 - 927 926. Time-Space Turbulence

Chapter 927: 926. Time-Space Turbulence Chapter 927: 926. Time-Space Turbulence Lu Ban first came to Cui Siter’s side, stretching out his hand to feel Cui Siter’s breath.

Fortunately, he was still breathing.

Although it was quite weak.

He examined Cui Siter’s body and found no obvious injuries, only some abrasions on his joints. Clearly, Cui Siter had fallen to this spot.

Whether it was due to carelessness or a struggle with someone, that would have to be asked of Cui Siter himself.

It seemed that the blood on him was not his own.

“The blood isn’t his.”

Lu Ban said, turning back to look at Shia.

“This room definitely had no one in it just now.”

Shia looked around, the room seemed like a normal room, but a careful examination revealed friction marks on the edges of the table, the chairs, and the foot of the bed, indicating there had been quite a struggle in the room.

“You just said you hadn’t heard my voice either, could there be a problem here, perhaps we entered different spaces and only intersected just now?”

Lu Ban theorized.

“That idea is too extravagant, it’s more likely that I was too tense and didn’t hear you entering the inn.”

Shia was still not quite convinced by this mystical notion, in her view, many seemingly bizarre happenings could actually be explained scientifically.

Being a university student, one should not hastily judge the causes behind occurrences based solely on subjective thoughts and pursue fanciful delusions without considering the underlying principles; it was, indeed, inappropriate.

“But Old Cui is indeed lying here.”

Lu Ban gently shook Cui Siter in an attempt to wake him.

Cui Siter’s expression grew somber, as if he had a nightmare.

Lu Ban had no choice but to search Cui Siter for any other clues.

Quickly, he found three photos in Cui Siter’s pocket.

“Look, there are photos.”

Lu Ban and Shia verified the three photos.

“This must be the inn owner’s photo, but what about this last one? The two people in this photo seem to be already dead.”

Shia said, puzzled; she and Lu Ban had passed by here when they came back from dinner, and although they had not observed closely, they confirmed that the inn’s owners were supposed to be two middle-aged people.

Certainly not children.

“Is there a possibility that we entered a time-space flux in the fog, and we’re experiencing different times?”

Lu Ban guessed.

Shia didn’t comment on Lu Ban’s wild ideas, but looking at the state of the room and then back at the photos, she felt a peculiar sensation.

At that moment, Cui Siter’s body jerked, and Lu Ban quickly moved to his side, noticing Cui Siter’s eyelids twitching, before he quickly opened his eyes.

“Are you awake? The surgery was very successful, you’re a girl now.”

Lu Ban blurted out.

“?”

Cui Siter was momentarily stunned, hurriedly feeling around.

“What did you say?”

He countered instinctively.

“It seems pretty normal.”

Lu Ban concluded, at least Cui Siter wasn’t suffering from memory loss or possessed by some bizarre entity.

“Just now…”

Cui Siter’s eyes suddenly became bewildered for a moment, then, it seemed like he remembered something.

“I entered the inn, and then…”

“What happened next, Uncle Cui?”

Shia asked anxiously.

“…Then I heard noises in this room, so I entered, and it seemed like I was attacked by something and lost consciousness,”

Cui Siter glanced at Lu Ban and spoke slowly.

“Was there anything else?”

Lu Ban inquired.

“I’m not sure. When I entered the hotel, there was no one here, just a few photographs…”

Cui Siter’s tone became clear and confident, he touched his pocket but felt nothing.

“Are you talking about these photos?”

Shia handed the three photos to Cui Siter.

“Yes, I remember the owner of the hotel is the person in these photos, but in the photos, they are already dead,”

Cui Siter confirmed again as he spoke.

“What’s with the blood on you?”

Lu Ban asked again.

Cui Siter then looked down at the blood on his body that had already coagulated, appearing somewhat puzzled.

“I’m not sure…”

“So, you and Uncle Cui entered the hotel, one found the guest list and the other found old photos, but you didn’t run into each other, and I didn’t find anything…”

Shia pondered.

“I think this fog, even The Island itself, might have fallen into a time-space flux. We could easily walk into different times. When there is no fog, the hotel owner’s family is alive and well, but in the fog, it seems they have met with misfortune. Is it possible they were indeed harmed and what we saw during the day was the past version of them?”

Lu Ban voiced his hypothesis.

“Are you serious?”

Shia looked at Lu Ban, full of disbelief.

It felt like a student who was late to class, then tells the disciplinary head at the school gate that he just encountered aliens turning into cats to invade Earth, and after a long and bizarre journey, saved Earth and finally returned to school.

It’s ludicrous to the extreme.

“Indeed, we shouldn’t discount that possibility.”

Unexpectedly, Cui Siter actually agreed with Lu Ban’s statement.

“Huh?”

Shia looked at Cui Siter, momentarily feeling as if Cui Siter might have been possessed by some unknown entity.

“This fog itself surpasses common sense, and what we just saw in the bar isn’t something you would normally encounter in humans. I believe we might indeed need to consider the possibility of supernatural phenomena, defying common reason, appearing on this island,”

Cui Siter noticed Shia’s gaze and added an explanation.

“Rather than blindly denying the situation, it might be better to try and accept it, perhaps then we could find the truth.”

“Okay, but if this place really has turned into some kind of time-space flux, what would that mean?”

Shia’s mind worked quickly, since she couldn’t outright dismiss Lu Ban’s idea, she decided to go along with it and consider the situation from this angle.

After all, Lu Ban was able to remember everything and process it in his head, perhaps creating clues that Shia hadn’t noticed with his exceptional memory.

“What is the significance of this island, why does it let us enter the past or future spaces?”

Underlying any phenomenon, there must be a cause, Shia believed that finding the root was most important in resolving the situation.

“Perhaps this isn’t the intention but just some accident along the way,”

Lu Ban said.

“If we link the Jade Pendant, the guest list I obtained, the photos in Old Cui’s hands, the case from ten years ago, and the behavior of Zou Changyu and his wife, I believe someone might be trying to conduct some strange ritual on this island to summon the Evil God represented by the Jade Pendant. The fog might just be a byproduct of the ritual.”

“Summon… the Evil God?”

Shia really couldn’t understand.
