I Forged the Myth of the Ancient Overlords
Chapter 908 - 908 907. Not today

Chapter 908: 907. Not today Chapter 908: 907. Not today “You will die, today.”

The man uttered these words in a fragmented manner.

Lu Ban responded instinctively.

“Not today.”

“…It is today.”

“Not today.”

Lu Ban felt it was inappropriate to argue with the man as if he was a child. He tapped on the table.

“Who are you, you’re not from this Illusion Realm? Or are you saying, you’re part of the Illusion as well?”

He asked.

This place was supposed to be an illusion crafted by The Dark One. Other Ancient Overlords almost certainly couldn’t break in, and this man was clearly not an incarnation of The Dark One.

Compared to this guy, the psychiatrists at the mental hospital resembled The Dark One more.

So, Lu Ban surmised that the latter possibility was more likely.

The entity that constructed this illusion was likely discontent with Lu Ban’s comfortable life and sent this fellow to warn him.

But what was his purpose?

Lu Ban initially thought that The Dark One wanted to create an abnormally idyllic world to make him give up returning to the Foreign Domain, but it seemed now that this wasn’t his original intent?

“You, cannot, save them.”

The man spoke again.

“Them?”

Lu Ban glanced at Cui Siter beside him.

They were already people who had passed away in the real world, witnessed the end, and completed the circle of fate. There was no chance of salvation. If Lu Ban left this piece of the illusionary realm, they would naturally disappear.

So how could there be talk of salvation?

Was there, perhaps, a way for these people to break free from the circle of fate and survive under those miracles that were almost impossible to occur?

“It is today…”

The man kept repeating the sentence, like a merciless repeating machine.

Suddenly, he convulsed, foam spewing from his mouth, his hands struggling fiercely, causing the chair fixed to the ground to begin shaking.

“What’s wrong with you?”

Cui Siter stood up, he looked towards the man, fearing it was a feint, then called for other police officers.

By the time the other police officers entered, the man had gone silent, his muscles contracted spasmodically, and he had fainted.

“This is really strange…”

Cui Siter had seen many vicious and ruthless criminals, but he had never seen anything like this before.

In a matter of minutes, the guy seemed like he was a different person.

The twitching, the way his muscles spasmed, even the most excellent actor could not have performed it.

And it looked as if Lu Ban was able to communicate with the man normally?

Although it was all childlike talk of not today but today, it seemed like Lu Ban had received a substantial amount of information.

“What did you just communicate about?”

Cui Siter asked Lu Ban.

“There might be danger, I’m not sure.”

Lu Ban thought about it.

This man in the real world was probably in a similar situation, only at that time he was restrained by the law, and that world had more sinister entities, so the man had not been able to contact Lu Ban.

Regarding the “master” the man mentioned, Lu Ban had no clue.

“Right, have you checked his luggage?”

Lu Ban suddenly asked.

“Nonsense, we’re professional police officers, how could we overlook such details?”

Cui Siter immediately replied.

“So you found nothing strange?”

Lu Ban pressed.

“I haven’t finished checking yet.”

Cui Siter replied.

“Over with the forensic department, I came to find you right after we caught him, so there hasn’t been enough time to complete the examination.”

“Can I take a look?”

Lu Ban asked.

“What do you think you’ll find?”

Cui Siter became alert.

Since Lu Ban’s so-called real world could obtain information about the criminal, perhaps there might also be clues about the motive?

Thinking of this, Cui Siter suddenly felt like laughing. He actually started to believe that Lu Ban could rely on so-called “real-world” memories for clues.

Was he going crazy too?

“I’m not sure, but this criminal and his accomplice killed the villa owner’s child years ago. They were thieves, so who knows what they stole back then.”

Lu Ban looked at Cui Siter.

Cui Siter frowned slightly, not understanding Lu Ban’s meaning.

Seeing the puzzled expression on Cui Siter’s face, Lu Ban chuckled softly, feeling somewhat emotional.

If it were the real Cui Siter, he would have already understood. Lu Ban meant that back then, the villa might have hidden something, something that harbored pollution not of this world. Those two thieves might have come into accidental contact with it and were corroded, leading them to commit such a crime on the spot.

Lu Ban thought.

“The theft report from back then only listed some jewelry and cash.”

Cui Siter answered, having carefully read the case files and remembered these details.

“Jewelry…”

Lu Ban speculated that it was most likely those items of jewelry that were the problem.

Perhaps one piece of jewelry was an artifact of the Evil God, pollution could be transferred upon touch.

“It’s possible that these pieces of jewelry might have caused him to be corroded. In the real world, these kinds of items easily carry pollution.”

“Carrying pollution, do you mean radiation?”

Cui Siter didn’t quite understand, but quickly thought of something else.

“Wait, the forensic team should already be checking the luggage. If he really carried some weird item, wouldn’t my colleagues be in great danger?”

He slapped his thigh and immediately ran to the forensic department with Lu Ban.

While still in the corridor, Lu Ban heard a commotion.

It sounded like something had been knocked over, then came a clang as it hit the ground.

There were also people’s screams.

Arriving at the entrance of the forensic department, Lu Ban saw two police officers in white lab coats fighting each other, both with bloodshot, red eyes.

The two of them were fighting fiercely, as if trying to kill one another, strangling each other by the throat and then falling to the ground, while the contents of an open suitcase spilled out, leaving the scene in complete disarray.

“Stop fighting.”

Cui Siter was about to step in to separate them when Lu Ban immediately grabbed his wrist.

“Don’t rush in, you might end up like them.”

Lu Ban’s eyes scanned for any potential pollutants, but the scene was too chaotic to pinpoint anything specific.

The fight between the two was getting worse, and it looked like they couldn’t be stopped.

Cui Siter clenched his teeth, ready to intervene at all costs, when suddenly, a figure emerged from behind him and Lu Ban.

The slight figure went straight to the fighting police officers and kicked one with such force that he was sent flying into the wall.

And when the other officer tried to lunge and grab hold of the person, they were met with a spinning kick that sent them flying onto a cabinet, eventually collapsing to the ground.

Strangely, after being kicked away, the two quickly fell silent, their actions growing sluggish, like sleepy brown bears.

“I told you, stop fighting.”

The figure muttered, then turned to look at Lu Ban and Cui Siter.

“Uncle Cui, what are you guys doing?”

Lu Ban realized, the girl with the impressive combat skills, was none other than Shia.
