I Forged the Myth of the Ancient Overlords
Chapter 881 - 881 880. Colony

Chapter 881: 880. Colony Chapter 881: 880. Colony Urukluqqa found it very strange.

The evaporation of moisture, not to mention humans caught in the midst of a storm, even those approaching this area would fall ill with plague, become subject to ‘Corrosion,’ and undergo ‘Mutation.’ How could anyone willingly walk into the tiger’s den?

Although Urukluqqa did not know that some humans would still climb the mountain after seeing a sign warning of flash floods, even if someone had been washed away by the floodwaters the day before, it was clear that the person before him was not the kind of fool who would court death unnecessarily.

Urukluqqa saw that the insect beneath that person had already started to mutate, its wings flapping on the sandy ground sprouting green mold, with blossoms on its head, its movements gradually slowing down.

Then, the person reached out effortlessly and plunged a hand into the insect’s head, immediately causing the creature to lose balance and sink into the sandy soil.

“You don’t have to suffer anymore.”

Lu Ban touched the insect, whose mutation ceased with its death, and his hand turned into a clump of crimson flesh and blood, swiftly engulfing the insect’s carcass and merging with it.

“Indeed, it tastes horrible.”

Lu Ban looked at the huge curtain of rain hurdling towards him.

What kind of deluge was this?

Between the sky and the earth, as if covered by a blurred frosted glass, raindrops formed into lines, reflecting everything outside; behind that curtain of rain lay a boundless deep green cloud and serpentine lightning that twisted and turned.

In this heavy rain, the boundaries of all objects blurred.

Lu Ban could see an army walking within it, and furthermore, ‘Common’ folks who, like itinerant traders, rode insects.

The bodies of these ‘Common’ people were greenish, with many breaks in their skin, from which mushrooms and sprouts grew.

They were like a fusion of organisms and plants, flourishing in the nourishment of the rainwater.

Aside from the torrential rain, there was no other sound in the world.

The moisture around him glowed green, and upon close observation, Lu Ban could see from his “True Sight” the tiny colonies of bacteria permeating the vapor.

These pathogens had sharp shells, slender limbs, like bullets with legs.

When the pathogens contacted a cell, they would pierce the cell membrane with their sharp heads, injecting their material into the cell, using the cytoplasm to reproduce, eventually taking over the body and turning it into a relentless soldier.

Even now, these colonies were entering Lu Ban’s body through his respiratory tract, trying to ‘Corrode’ him.

Even the hairs in his nose had turned green.

Lu Ban took a deep breath.

In his lungs, those pathogens tried to replicate the process, dividing, proliferating, occupying all cells, and transforming Lu Ban into those zombie-like “plant people.”

However, these pathogens were quickly absorbed, devoured, and digested by Lu Ban, becoming nourishment just like the insect had.

The pathogens were merely a ‘Pollution.’

This level of ‘Pollution’ was not enough to affect Lu Ban, in fact, he was able to influence the pathogens in turn.

The curtain of rain swooped down on Lu Ban like a wall of sighs.

Boom—

In an instant, Lu Ban felt as if only the sound of rain remained beside his ears.

The surges caused by the heavy downpour had flooded Lu Ban’s feet and deeper in, the desert was already submerged beneath the sea, where deep and obscure dangers lurked, unknown.

Lu Ban first walked toward the troop.

From afar, in the pouring rain, he saw these “plant people” shambling along like zombies, making their way through the shallow water; partly because the rain-soaked sand indeed made it hard to walk, each step sinking into a deep pit, and on the other hand, these creatures seemed not too bright, their movements noticeably sluggish.

However, their senses were quite sharp.

From a distance, they detected the presence of Lu Ban.

Several people grew moldy bone spurs in their hands. The bone spurs, complete with tendons, formed bows and arrows, with spinal columns as the core of the projectiles.

Quickly, they launched an attack in this somewhat exotic fashion.

The arrows made of spinal columns flew toward Lu Ban, but before they even hit the ground, they exploded, turning into countless shards and spores. These shards were far more terrifying than the torrential downpour, and in an instant, the sandy ground within dozens of meters around Lu Ban underwent a bombardment of debris, stirring up splashes of water.

The spores enveloped the area, and the high concentration of bacteria even began to contaminate the water. The falling raindrops, sticky like glue, formed a mire next to Lu Ban, restricting his movements.

Naturally, Lu Ban couldn’t possibly escape unscathed from the debris attack.

His body was riddled with holes, with no intact skin left, and at the wounds, countless bacteria began to multiply and grow wildly, tearing at his flesh.

Lu Ban simply melted entirely, turning into a puddle of flesh that sank into the water.

In the stench-filled rainwater, Lu Ban could sense a massive colony of bacteria.

Perhaps if this rain were to descend upon Utopia, it would turn all the city’s inhabitants into “vegetables” in a short time, and after much longer, only zombies severely contaminated by Pollution would remain in the Wasteland.

He split himself into dozens of pieces, swimming in the water, searching for any signs of the Chosen by Gods.

Soon, Lu Ban spotted a grotesquely shaped creature swimming in the Deep Sea.

It looked like an octopus, but its head was all eyes, enclosed in a transparent helmet, like an astronaut.

Its tentacles roamed leisurely in the water, contented in their exploration.

However, when Lu Ban approached, the other immediately sensed the intruder, and several of its eyes looked over.

“Hmm?”

Urukluqqa found it quite curious.

He initially thought it was a reckless human from the Wasteland, but now it seemed this fellow wasn’t any kind of normal human.

Could this be the potential enemy Chosen by Gods?

The thought occurred to Urukluqqa, and he immediately took the situation seriously.

But this presence appeared from all directions, everywhere carried the scent of that individual, as if they had split into many forms.

Urukluqqa’s tentacles writhed, and soon, the tip of one turned into something resembling a gun barrel.

The race of the Octopus Man was proficient in bio-enhancement technology. Biological enhancement entailed not just physical and mental strength, but of course, weaponization of the whole body.

Being armed to the teeth usually is a metaphor, but for the Octopus Man, being armed to the teeth meant they could literally fight with their teeth.

At this moment, what Urukluqqa created was one of their commonly used weapons.

Boom—

In the water, the gun barrel emitted a clear sound, and a projectile the size of a chicken egg was fired, moving toward Lu Ban’s location at not a very fast speed.

One of the pieces of Lu Ban was the target of this projectile.

He hadn’t yet figured out how to deal with this mysterious object.

The next moment, when the projectile was still a dozen meters away from Lu Ban, it exploded.

A mushroom cloud rose from the explosion.
