I Forged the Myth of the Ancient Overlords
Chapter 815 - 815 814. Solidified Time

Chapter 815: 814. Solidified Time Chapter 815: 814. Solidified Time That ship was far larger than the one Lu Ban was currently aboard, and it was hard to imagine that such a colossal passenger ship had ever appeared in this world. Such shipbuilding technology could only be owned by wealthy merchants with strong financial resources.

The storm behind them was still raging, but the fierce wind and rain could not penetrate the barrier of the Windless Belt, and even the sound gradually faded away.

Ahead, the deep night sky and the calm sea were illuminated by the magnificent ship, which gave off an unexpectedly warm feeling.

In the sky, the giant serpent within the condensed clouds looked ferocious and terrifying, but everyone knew that it would no longer change. It would become a statue, standing here as a warning to those who came after.

“Let’s go take a look over there.”

Shia pointed to the ship ahead. Such a strange situation was certainly not normal and warranted an inspection.

“Set sail!”

Zhang Zheng’s gaze still lingered on the creature in the clouds, and he felt amazed by the situation in this sea area, but he also felt a bit frightened.

If it weren’t for Shia’s magic, he reckoned that he would have become like that after rushing in for only a short while, forever frozen at that moment.

No wonder the old folks said that the Windless Belt was very terrifying and not a place for common folks to venture into.

As for Ah Xiang, he took the opportunity to sketch the creature. Such a strange being was unseen before and worthy of recording.

“What force allows it to move? It has no muscles or veins, how does it actually move?”

Ah Xiang continued to mutter to himself.

“Heh heh, maybe it’s some kind of mysterious power, the secret to immortality.”

Suddenly, a voice appeared beside him, startling the scholar.

Baobao was sitting on the railing of the ship in a very dangerous pose, resting her chin in one hand and revealing two slender and fair legs beneath her crimson pants, dangling over the sea, with her toes wiggling, causing Ah Xiang to swallow his saliva involuntarily.

Facing a girl whose charm seemed to break the limits of humanity, he struggled to regain his will and asked.

“The secret to immortality?”

“Yeah, do you want to know? If you master the secret of eternal life, you can be like this thing, and not die for hundreds or thousands of years.”

Baobao said solemnly, her voice like a harp flowing with beautiful melodies, plucking at the heartstrings of every listener.

“Does such a thing really exist?”

Ah Xian’s breathing suddenly became a bit more rapid. Who wouldn’t want to know such a secret?

But he glanced at the monster made up of white bones and reminded himself in time.

“If you can only live like that, immortality doesn’t seem so appealing.”

“Because the knowledge a person’s body can accommodate is limited. Life is but the process of accommodating knowledge. When the limit is reached, a person’s life also comes to an end. But if that limit is broken, Mutation is bound to occur.”

Baobao said as if sighing.

“Isn’t it a pity that your frail body can only gain so much knowledge?”

“Are you saying that it’s actually this knowledge that’s overwhelming us?”

Ah Xiang felt somewhat incredulous, having never considered such an explanation.

The process of human aging and stepping into death is just the accumulation of acquired knowledge eroding the body.

If humans remained forever ignorant, then their lifespan could be greatly extended.

But humans are a curious species, inherently chasing after knowledge. Thus, while gaining power, knowledge also comes with a price.

“Exactly, if you’re willing to discard your body, to give up being human, then you can embrace knowledge and become an Extraordinary existence, just like me.”

Baobao smirked, watching Ah Xiang with eyes full of amusement.

“Extraordinary…”

Ah Xiang hesitated, conflicted.

He had witnessed Shia and the others’ Extraordinary Powers firsthand. Such powers were indeed tempting.

But to give up being human, to become like those frozen creatures in the sky, Ah Xiang felt there was something not quite right.

This contradictory feeling was transmitted through the air to Baobao, and the corners of her mouth curled up.

The struggle, the anguish, the depression of humans were quite a tasty snack for her.

But the next moment, Baobao’s collar was abruptly lifted.

“Don’t do unnecessary things.”

Lu Ban pulled Baobao down from the railing with righteous indignation.

“Hey, what does it matter, he won’t choose it anyway,” Baobao puffed up her cheeks in protest.

Ah Xiang felt somewhat at a loss.

Although he had not felt that he could really obtain eternal life and immortality, he was indeed very interested in what Baobao had said. Why had she decided he wouldn’t choose it?

“Don’t take her words to heart; she loves to joke around,” Lu Ban added, making Ah Xiang even more puzzled, unable to figure out whether Baobao was telling the truth or deceiving him.

“This ship is really big.”

By this time, Baobao had already reached the bow, looking at the huge passenger ship ahead.

“I guess some folks are already trembling at the sight of it,” she teased, without specifying who she meant.

The sailors threw ropes with hooks onto that passenger ship, quickly pulled up several cables, laid out rope ladders, and climbed aboard.

Lu Ban, Shia, and Baobao also boarded the ship.

Then, they saw that this was not the kind of Ghost Ship they had expected. Instead, the ship was full of people.

On the deck, men and women dressed in fine clothes were gathering together, with Musicians playing music and Singers singing as if a grand banquet were in progress.

Yet, everyone’s movements were frozen in time.

Whether it was the dancers gracefully moving, the Musicians intensely playing, the waiters carrying fine wine, or the diners feasting heartily, regardless of the elderly or children babbling, all were caught in a standstill.

Their skin still glowed with luster as if they were still alive, and even the food and drinks seemed as if they had just come out of the oven, steaming hot.

The flickering lights only made the scene appear even more eerie.

“Did this ship wander into the Windless Belt and then got frozen?” Shia wondered if without the enhancement of Magic, ordinary ships entering the Windless Belt would indeed turn out like this.

The time of these people had been frozen, and in a certain sense, they were all still alive, living in that very moment.

“If we remove the force applied to them, can we bring them back to life?” Lu Ban asked.

He reached out, tore off a chicken leg that looked very appetizing from the plate on the dining table, sniffed it, and took a big bite.

“The taste is quite good; how has the level of cooking regressed so much these days?” Lu Ban mused as he picked up a glass of wine and gulped it down.

“The wine tastes good too; it seems their time is indeed frozen.”

“…Is it delicious?” Shia asked after a moment of silence.

“Pretty good!” Lu Ban tore off another chicken leg and handed it to Shia.

Shia took the glossy chicken leg and bit into it.

“Mmm, it really tastes great.”

“I want some too!” Baobao called out.

Lu Ban tore off yet another chicken leg and gave it to Baobao.

“Can I have some?” Zhang Zheng approached, drawn by the sight of the others blissfully gnawing on chicken legs.

Lu Ban generously tore off another chicken leg and handed it to Zhang Zheng.

Having finished the one in his hand, he was ready to grab another chicken leg.

He had just taken a bite out of the second leg when Lu Ban suddenly had a belated realization.

“Tell me, how many legs does a chicken have?” he asked.

Upon hearing Lu Ban’s question, those holding chicken legs looked at each other in bewilderment.
