Chapter 808 - 808 807. Have a big meal
Chapter 808: 807. Have a big meal Chapter 808: 807. Have a big meal An hour later.
“Honestly, where is your hideout?” Lu Ban asked the pirates kneeling on the deck, speaking with a severe tone.
The pirates, who had been fished out of the water or surrendered, looked at each other but no one dared to speak.
They remained silent for two reasons.
First, they knew that if they disclosed the location of their base, after these people found The Island, they would certainly kill them.
This wasn’t land, it was the resource-scarce open sea, where freshwater and food dwindled with each use. With so many captives aboard a pirate ship, they couldn’t possibly keep all of them alive; the pirates did the same, usually seizing goods from merchant ships, killing the men, and keeping the women for their own pleasure before killing them too, not sparing those who were just mouths to feed.
Secondly, on The Island there were their families and even more pirates; if those people learned that they had betrayed them, even if they could return, they would be purged internally—there simply was no way out alive.
Death loomed regardless of their choice, so it made sense to stall, living one more day was still one more day.
Perhaps they would find a chance to escape.
Seeing that the pirates remained silent, Lu Ban glanced over at Captain Zhang Zheng with apparent frustration.
“Captain, how should we deal with these men?”
Captain Zhang Zheng, who had never seen such a situation before, had only ever been in skirmishes with pirate ships. He had never imagined defeating three ships at once and taking so many prisoners. His mind was still replaying the Magic that Shia had used.
“Uh, what do you think?”
He looked at his own crew.
The pirates at sea were mostly extremely brutish and vile. If they didn’t have several lives on their hands, they were undoubtedly complicit in evil deeds. When captured by military forces, these men were usually hanged on the rocks by the sea, left for the sun to dry their corpses.
Among his own crew, there were likely those who had friends and relatives killed by pirates; forgiving these scoundrels was hardly possible.
If it weren’t for the information about the pirates’ base, some crew members might have already taken action against them.
Moreover, having so many pirates on board was also a risk; who knew if they would find an opportunity to mutiny and seize the ship?
But now, with the pirates saying nothing, the situation became somewhat awkward.
Seeing that the captain hadn’t decided and the pirates hadn’t responded, Lu Ban spoke up.
“I’ll give you another chance. The person who reveals the location of your hideout can survive. Our Captain Zhang Zheng will ensure that the individual is taken back to be locked up in prison. You just need to genuinely reform and you can start anew, avoiding the noose. What do you think?”
Upon hearing Lu Ban’s words, several pirates seemed swayed.
They knew that only one person was needed, it was difficult to take away a group, but one person could definitely be managed. Once ashore, they wouldn’t be hanged, which seemed like the only way out alive.
But who would be this person?
The pirates were not so naïve; they were well aware that if anyone stepped forward now, the rest would immediately kill them to prevent them from being the sole survivor, for that’s what they would do themselves.
This was a chain of suspicion.
Among this group of pirates, a dark forest emerged.
Seeing the scheming looks of the pirates, Captain Zhang Zheng shook his head; he knew these pirates were not so easy to deal with. At sea, it was not only about physical strength but also understanding human nature.
However, Lu Ban didn’t let the situation drag on for too long.
He approached the pirate kneeling at the front.
That pirate had an indifferent face and refused to say a word.
Lu Ban placed his hand on the man’s head.
Countless words appeared.
Lu Ban searched through them for a moment and quickly located the position of the base in his memory, along with some other incriminating memories.
“Got it,” Lu Ban said.
“?” The pirates exchanged glances, clueless about how Lu Ban knew, thinking he was bluffing them.
Only until Lu Ban marked the location of the island on the nautical chart did the group of pirates truly start to fear.
“There should be no problem now, these people are all useless.”
Lu Ban said again.
“Wait, wait, there’s still something we haven’t said…”
The pirates didn’t know how Lu Ban knew, and they couldn’t see the content related to “Testament,” but since the location of their base had been exposed, they could only plead for mercy, hoping to be spared.
“Now that we have the information, let’s throw the rest of the people into the sea.”
Shia said coldly.
Suddenly, the pirates started to riot.
The lead pirate, emboldened by desperation, leaped up, trying to take a hostage and escape.
Fortunately, he had bypassed a sailor that was watching him, snatched a knife from the sailor’s hand, and even caught a hostage.
Unfortunately, the hostage he grabbed was Baobao.
“Don’t come any closer, or I’ll kill this woman!”
The pirate was still calculating his escape route and how he could use his hostage as leverage.
But he found that Lu Ban and Shia were unmoved and even seemed slightly amused.
“What were you saying just now?”
A soft voice emitted from the woman in front of the pirate. Suddenly, it was as if the pirate saw something breathtakingly beautiful, its beauty so overwhelming that it stripped him of all thoughts.
His movements froze as he stared at the woman escaping her bonds, then turning around. Despite her small stature, she looked down on him with a commanding presence.
“Am I beautiful?”
Baobao revealed a faint smile, like the warm sun on a winter day that touched one’s heart.
“Beautiful, so beautiful…”
The pirate answered, dazed.
“Do you like me?”
Baobao asked again, her finger lightly tapping the pirate’s chest.
“Like, I like.”
The pirate became like a heartless parrot, endlessly repeating his answer.
“Then, would you die for me?”
Baobao asked in a casual tone.
“Yes!”
The pirate agreed with a shout, then, the knife in his hand slashed across his neck, blood spraying, but with a will of its own, it all missed Baobao, only dirtying the deck.
As this pirate slowly fell, the other pirates seemed to be under a spell as well, intently staring at Baobao.
“Everyone, would you die for me?”
Baobao’s mouth curled into a smile.
The next moment, all the pirates started to kill themselves in various ways; some jumped directly into the sea, others slammed their heads against the deck violently, and some even reached out to pluck out their own eyeballs. Suddenly, the deck had become a kind of hellish scene.
Captain Zhang Zheng, witnessing this spectacle, was also stupefied.
He had heard old fishermen speak of mermaids at sea, who used their enchanting songs to bewitch humans. But this girl in white with red hakama, she seemed like the purest woman, leading these pirates to their deaths with her clear voice.
A quarter of an hour later, with the last pirate gouging his throat to a bloody mess, spewing foam and jumping off the ship, all the pirates had been buried at sea.
And Baobao, licked her lips, as if she had just enjoyed a grand feast.
