I Forged the Myth of the Ancient Overlords
Chapter 652 - 652 Doomsday Chronicler_1

Chapter 652: Doomsday Chronicler_1 Chapter 652: Doomsday Chronicler_1 Lu Ban glanced at the corpses sprawled outside that had turned into stone and felt certain he wasn’t from the Splendid Realm.

“Is this a bit far-fetched?”

Lu Ban saw Charlotte stick him back onto the slab, and the text on the marble abruptly changed.

“You should be glad for the powerful forces of the Splendid Realm, which caused that even though their civilization was destroyed, the creation didn’t stop functioning as a result. This place can still operate normally. You should know that when a civilization is heavily polluted, the man-made objects are the first to mutate, followed by less rational animals, among others. Most of the polluted and destroyed Foreign Domains had already lost the conditions to support normal life before that.”

Charlotte said casually, glanced at the text on the slab, and then looked at Lu Ban.

“What do you want to ask?”

“Am I from the Splendid Realm?”

Lu Ban couldn’t help asking.

“Sort of. You humans are essentially the result of continuous mutations from the remnants of the Splendid Realm’s people. Otherwise, why do you think the humans of so many civilizations in various Foreign Domains look so similar?”

Charlotte tossed out the surprising facts nonchalantly.

“Wait, does that mean all humans were once residents of the Splendid Realm?”

Lu Ban sought confirmation.

“Essentially, yes. During the final collapse of the Splendid Realm, indeed, a part of the population mutated themselves into what you are now. In fact… many of the Foreign Domains were originally prisons used by the Splendid Realm to incarcerate the Ancient Overlords. If not for that, how could they have been unaffected and continue to exist after the destruction of this civilization?”

Charlotte spoke in a tone as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

“Hmm, the defenses here are indeed very tight, and…”

After checking the text on the slab, she led Lu Ban upstairs.

Lu Ban noticed that this library had neither books nor shelves. Although it may be due to the ravages of time that the books had deteriorated, he still found the clean and tidy appearance a bit odd.

Moreover, there were many rooms upstairs. The rooms were not very large, about the size of a study—still quite sizable for Charlotte and Lu Ban.

Entering one of the rooms, the door slammed shut behind them, and the space dimmed.

Lu Ban wasn’t nervous; being with Charlotte, if the place could hold Lu Ban, could it possibly hold Charlotte?

Amidst this absolute darkness, the walls suddenly started glowing.

The white marble walls shimmered faintly, with some text appearing within them.

Lu Ban was surprised to recognize some of the text, which belonged to the Foreign Domain he was from.

Shortly after, a stream of knowledge flowed into Lu Ban’s mind.

In an instant, Lu Ban’s view was no longer confined to this enclosed room but a vast world instead.

He seemed to be standing high in the air, with endless forests and the setting sun beneath his feet.

Lu Ban focused his attention and could see various animals living in the forest.

He had never seen these animals before; most had six to eight legs, covered in scales like cold-blooded creatures, some hovering in the air in defiance of aerodynamics like wobbling bells, and some were slender, semi-transparent beings, wafting through the clouds, chasing the sunset.

Beyond that sun, in the distant sky, two luminous bodies the size of moons shone, except their light was more dazzling, like miniature suns.

This was a world of quiet serenity.

Just as Lu Ban was curiously and greedily observing everything here, a certain throbbing came from the sky.

Lu Ban felt as if he were hearing the sound of a heartbeat.

Soon, he realized this was not an illusion.

The sound of a heart’s thumping, coming from the firmament at an extremely slow rhythm.

The trees began to sway, startling a large flock of four-winged bird-like creatures that flew towards the sky.

The next moment, an unforgettable scene emerged.

Lu Ban saw that the huge, dazzling sun suddenly erupted.

No, it was not an eruption.

It was a large and robust tentacle that burst out from the sun.

One tentacle, two tentacles, three tentacles, countless tentacles thrust from the interior of the star, their fiery mass even more immense than the star’s corona, and in an instant, Lu Ban’s entire field of vision was occupied by those extending tentacles.

The animals in the forests had no chance to react before a tentacle was heading towards this planet.

Lu Ban instinctively took a step back, right up until that fiery tentacle pierced through both him and Charlotte’s bodies. The entire planet was split in two by the searing tentacle, its cross-section as smooth as the surface of solidified grease sliced with a hot knife. The planet’s core, like a flowing egg, cracked, and under the surging power, the entire planet’s trajectory suffered a fatal disruption. The fractured ground continued to spread and extend—until, in the end, those lush forests, those marvelous creatures, the entire vibrant world, all turned to nothingness.

Only then did Lu Ban realize, this was a vision of doomsday.

Although he didn’t know which planet or which foreign domain it was, there was no doubt that this place was destroyed due to the awakening of an Ancient Overlord that had been sealed inside the sun.

At the same time, countless pieces of information flooded into Lu Ban’s consciousness like a tide.

Research findings about this foreign domain, various parameters, development history, the structure of all living beings, information—it was all there.

With this data as a basis, one could easily create an open-world game filled with realism.

But Lu Ban was not focused on that.

It was some subtle information.

Lu Ban saw that all this was data observed and studied by scholars of the Splendid Realm, and this scene was recorded by observers from the Splendid Realm.

Lu Ban was not saying that these doomsday recorders merely chronicled everything without attempting to save the life on this planet, but based on this information and even more reports and analyses continuously flowing into his brain, he discovered something.

A hundred billion years ago, there was no star nor planet here, only the enormous and indescribable Ancient Overlord existed.

Later, the Splendid Realm sealed the Ancient Overlord here, and over the years, its sealed remnants surprisingly transformed into a scorching star, which captured matter to form planets around it.

Those planets, after eons, cooled down, and under numerous coincidences and accidents, spawned their own life. Life, through trials and tribulations, eventually evolved to its current form.

Everything, in the wake of the Ancient Overlord’s awakening, returned to nothingness.

Even the life here, it was the result of pollution. The stone was polluted, giving rise to cells, and under pollution, cells divided and proliferated, ultimately becoming living organisms.

Pollution was the origin of life.

Every life form in every foreign domain has carried the pollution from the moment of its birth.
