Lu Ban, seeing Feng Yu about to spill out, immediately ran to the bathroom and grabbed the basin that had once contained himself.

No sooner had he stepped out of the bathroom than he remembered something. Turning back, he turned on the tap, rinsed the basin, and returned to the living room.

“No worries now, no worries, it’s all flowing into the basin.”

The Melting Feng Yu, resembling a clump of flesh, gradually lost its human form and fell into the basin, looking like it was about to overflow at any moment.

Lu Ban quickly went back to the bathroom for a bucket, rinsed it with water, and continued to ‘contain’ Feng Yu.

A basin and a bucket, finally, it was almost enough to hold everything.

Now only Feng Yu’s long down jacket remained on the outside.

Thinking about it this way, it was kind of thrilling, like she was only wearing a coat out on the streets.

Lu Ban began to inspect the contents of the basin.

Not quite like his own experience, the flowing Feng Yu resembled a mixture of grey flesh, with eyes and fleshy buds, and the mass was filled with strange patterns that seemed to form some indecipherable script. Lu Ban couldn’t understand it, but he knew very well that a common person would probably suffer from brain pain, diminished sanity, and descend into madness upon seeing these patterns.

Lu Ban touched it with his hand; it was soft and warm, like human skin.

He poked his finger in and saw that the surface tension wasn’t strong, easily engulfing his digit.

Withdrawing his finger and looking at the flesh that clung to it, Lu Ban gave it a taste.

“So it really tastes awful.”

Lu Ban’s face contorted.

It was a flavor mixed with bitterness and sourness that spread and lingered throughout his mouth, as if no amount of water could wash it away completely.

It might even be toxic.

Since Feng Yu’s consciousness was still not clear, Lu Ban had to think of a way to wake her up first.

After some thought, Lu Ban decided to pull out all the drawers from the refrigerator and put the two basins of Feng Yu in there to freeze. At least this way, she would become solid, and later on, Lu Ban could use his ice sculpture technique to carve her into a human form, perhaps restoring her original appearance.

As he was opening the refrigerator door, Qin Tiantian, wrapped in a blanket, walked out of her room.

“Why is it so noisy? Aren’t we sleeping this early?”

She glanced at Lu Ban in the kitchen.

“There should be food in the fridge, right? Are you taking everything out to cook?”

“Not really.”

Lu Ban continued with his actions.

“I’m dead tired.”

Qin Tiantian said, sitting on the couch and turning on the TV with the remote control.

The news on the TV was reporting the end of the blizzard. Watching for a while, Qin Tiantian caught sight of the bucket and basin containing Feng Yu.

“Yo, are we having dumplings tonight? We can’t finish so much filling by ourselves, can we?”

She even leaned in to sniff it.

“That’s Feng Yu.”

Lu Ban explained, picking up the basin with Feng Yu.

“Oh, she’s coming back today too, huh.”

Continuing to watch TV, Qin Tiantian saw the bright sunshine and the vast expanse of land in the broadcast and suddenly remembered something.

Pat pat pat—

Wearing slippers, Qin Tiantian stepped into the kitchen and saw Lu Ban putting the basin into the fridge.

“How can you put dumpling filling in the quick freeze? The refrigerator would be more appropriate, wouldn’t it?”

“I’ll take it out after it freezes.”

Lu Ban explained.

“…Oh forget that, the snow has stopped!”

Qin Tiantian jumped up excitedly.

“The snow outside is so thick, we could go have a snowball fight!”

At this moment, she reverted to the demeanor of a southerner who had never seen snow before.

“Sure, after all this has frozen, let’s go have that snowball fight.”

Lu Ban picked up the bucket and dumped another bucketful of Feng Yu into the fridge.

“Just to let you know in advance, I don’t eat dumplings with leek filling, alright? I don’t seem to smell any leeks here.”

Qin Tiantian watched as Lu Ban closed the refrigerator door.

“No.”

Lu Ban told Qin Tiantian to go back to the living room and stay warm.

After the two had lunch, and when the afternoon came, Lu Ban figured it should be about frozen solid by then, and told Qin Tiantian to change clothes and come downstairs.

“Let’s build a snowman!”

As soon as Qin Tiantian went downstairs, she saw the snow reaching up to her waist and got immediately excited.

She threw herself into the frosty snow and outlined a human shape.

Then, Qin Tiantian made a snowball and threw it at Lu Ban.

Thwack—

The soft snowball hit Lu Ban’s head and scattered in all directions.

Lu Ban stood unmoving, looking at Qin Tiantian.

“? It’s your own fault for not dodging, don’t blame me!”

Qin Tiantian’s voice trembled a bit as she defended herself.

Lu Ban poured out the dumpling filling from the bucket; the frozen mixture sank into the soft snow, quickly disappearing from sight.

He bent over, swept aside the snow nearby, and placed the bucket of dumpling filling firmly on the snow.

Lu Ban then dumped another basin of dumpling filling on top of the bucket’s contents.

The two somehow stacked up to form a bipedal snowman.

Lu Ban took out a carrot from his pocket, which came from who knows where, and stuck it where the snowman’s nose should be, then used actual snow to make two eyes.

He picked up two branches and stuck them into the snowman’s sides for arms.

“Ugly.”

Qin Tiantian scorned Lu Ban’s artistic taste and then took off her own red scarf to wrap around the snowman’s neck.

“It’ll have to do.”

“Not bad.”

Lu Ban commented.

Qin Tiantian continued to play in the snow.

If there’s only a little snow on the ground, playing in it isn’t fun because the snow quickly melts into ice, making it hurt when you fall on the slippery path.

But if there’s a lot of snow, it’s different.

The snow on the ground is like a thick blanket, able to absorb the impact without feeling damp, and Qin Tiantian quickly built two more snowmen. Looking at her snowy creations, she suddenly remembered something.

“Hey, wait, if you used the dumpling filling to build a snowman, what are we going to eat tonight?”

She turned around and saw Feng Yu standing where the snowman had been, with her red scarf still wrapped around his neck.

“Whoa, Feng Yu, when did you get back?”

Qin Tiantian approached him.

“This morning.”

Feng Yu took off the red scarf and wrapped it around Qin Tiantian.

“Huh, I didn’t see you. Never mind, let’s have hot pot tonight!”

Qin Tiantian suggested excitedly.

“Mhm.”

Feng Yu nodded and watched Qin Tiantian, who had gone back to building snowmen, and then glanced at Lu Ban nearby.

At that moment, Lu Ban was squatting on the ground, talking to one of the snowmen that Qin Tiantian had just built.

“Right here, I have a hereditary carrot that turns into a real human once it’s stuck on the nose. You all saw what happened just now, so who wants to give it a try?”

He held the carrot in his hand, speaking very seriously.

Feng Yu looked at him with a smile, but remained silent.
