Chapter 533: 532. I can blow for one year_1 Chapter 533: 532. I can blow for one year_1 After the long holiday in October, Mo Guangyuan returned to his job.

Just starting work, the afterglow of the vacation hadn’t yet faded, and Mo Guangyuan was still indulging in the joy of sleeping in until he woke up naturally each day; even the commute to the office seemed longer than before.

But as soon as he arrived at the office, he realized that although everyone looked like they were still aimlessly clicking their mice and brewing goji berry tea for health, the atmosphere was noticeably different.

A kind of unprecedented tension was spreading in the office.

Tension?

Mo Guangyuan had been working for so long that he simply didn’t know how to spell the word “tension.”

Suddenly faced with such an atmosphere, he was thrown off.

“What’s going on? Are we firing someone?”

Mo Guangyuan asked Lao Li, who seemed the most composed.

“You must be joking. It’s impossible that we’re firing anyone. A film has arrived, and the leaders are discussing who to assign it to for review,”

Lao Li took a sip of goji berry and red date tea from his thermos and said leisurely.

“This serious? Is it some kind of blockbuster film of the year?”

Mo Guangyuan thought even those star-studded blockbusters didn’t warrant such a grand display. What film could receive such treatment?

“It’s Lu Ban’s new film,”

Lao Li blew on the mouth of his thermos.

In an instant, the entire office looked over.

In people’s eyes, expressions of anticipation, greed, and reverence appeared, then quickly receded.

Mo Guangyuan was stunned at first, then his own breathing became heavier.

This was the highly anticipated, blockbuster new film by Director Lu Ban!

If he could be the reviewer, wouldn’t he be the first person in the world to see the completed film?

Damn, I could brag about this for a year!

Mo Guangyuan felt he had a huge advantage.

For starters, at just thirty, he was one of the younger employees in the office. The two greenhorns who graduated from university last year lacked experience, so they probably wouldn’t be chosen.

As for the remaining older men and women, although experienced, they often passed on reviewing horror and thriller films due to health reasons, leaving the job for the mid-thirties backbone like Mo Guangyuan and his peers.

And the others, Mo Guangyuan felt, simply didn’t understand Lu Ban and were just following the trend as box office fans!

At that moment, the door to the leadership office opened.

Two leaders came out, one after the other.

They glanced at their colleagues and one of them cleared his throat.

“You may have all heard that the sample film for Director Lu Ban’s new film “Doomsday” was delivered to the bureau yesterday. We need to review this film to prevent any content that may not be suitable for public release,”

As the leader finished speaking, there was a flurry of discussion below.

“I think this review should be given to Xiao Chen, he’s young and energetic.”

“Lu Ban’s films take a heavy toll on one’s spirit. This task would be better suited for someone like me, who’s usually cheerful and easy-going.”

“I’m not really declining, I’ve just had more work to do recently, but if the leader gives the order, I’ll duty-bound to accept it,”

Upon hearing this, Mo Guangyuan patted his chest.

“Leader, I have watched all of Lu Ban’s works, and I believe I can grasp Lu Ban’s creative vision well and offer suitable review comments,”

Hearing everyone’s statements, the two leaders looked at each other, and then the leader who hadn’t spoken yet opened his mouth.

“We’ve heard everyone’s suggestions, but as you all know, Lu Ban’s movies are quite important to our domestic market, so this review is particularly critical. Therefore, Old Zhao and I have decided that we will handle the reviewing process. Everyone else can go back to their work.”

“????”

Is this even allowed?

Mo Guangyuan was stunned.

Watching the two leaders return to the office, the silent crowd exchanged glances.

So cunning!

These two have never helped with the review of movies before, and now they’re sneaking off!

In the office, Old Zhao glanced at the computer screen.

Lu Ban’s new movie had already been copied onto the computer. It was one hundred and thirty minutes long, which wasn’t too long.

He checked the time; there was still a while until lunch, plenty of time to watch the entire movie.

Old Zhao brewed a cup of tea and opened the media player.

As the movie began, he saw a helicopter with a rescue symbol on it, lowering a rope as though to save someone.

He saw a muscular man clipping onto the safety rope, sliding down on it.

That’s when Old Zhao realized the scene was set inside a volcano.

There was no lava in the volcano; instead, there was a lake in the crater surrounded by birds and fragrant flowers, making it seem like a hidden paradise.

It appeared that the person in trouble had come here for a hike and got trapped in a crevice in the mountain, barely holding on to avoid falling.

Old Zhao, having seen plenty of movies before, knew well enough what was going to come next in the plot.

It would be a series of thrilling actions, after which the man would save the woman, showcasing the protagonist’s heroism.

And just as Old Zhao had predicted, the woman nearly fell off the cliff, but the man reached out in the nick of time and grabbed her in the last second.

At that moment, a deep rumbling noise began to sound, startling countless birds into flight.

Old Zhao leaned a bit closer to the screen.

The next moment, the lake within the volcanic crater boiled and turned red. Before the helicopter could fly away, a fierce surge of magma erupted, like an artery that had been cut open, gushing blood. The fiery flood swallowed the helicopter, melting both the newly-rescued woman and the man who had seemed so much like the main character.

“What the fuck?”

Old Zhao had truly never seen anything like this.

The volcano’s eruption wasn’t a slow flow as depicted in many works, but more like being exploded by millions of bombs, accompanied by a massive roar, vaporizing the entire crater lake. Dark mushroom clouds rose from the ground, followed by burning rocks falling like meteors from the thick smoke, tracing dark trajectories in the air. Those rocks landed on the ground, creating huge craters and igniting the surrounding vegetation.

The homes near the volcanic crater sublimated in an instant, their inhabitants not even having time to utter screams or moans.

With high concentrations of volcanic ash, the camera gradually zoomed out to a higher altitude. The ash cloud, like a dark pall, enveloped the entire volcano and kept spreading.

Eventually, the shot reached near-Earth orbit, showing a dark ash cloud engulphing the volcanic eruption area on Earth, comparable in size to a small typhoon, even altering the nearby air currents.

It was only at this point that Old Zhao remembered he could breathe.

He took a few breaths. The volcano eruption scene had been so powerful, he felt as though he wasn’t just in front of a screen but right at the eruption itself, with the massive roar, the scorching dry wind, and the pungent smell of volcanic ash all too real.

What defines a grand scene?

This was a truly grand scene.

Old Zhao savored the moment, then recalled something.

The guy who seemed like the main character—he just died like that?
