I Forged the Myth of the Ancient Overlords
Chapter 525 - 525 524. Second teaser trailer_1

Chapter 525: 524. Second teaser trailer_1 Chapter 525: 524. Second teaser trailer_1 After the talk show was broadcast, Lu Ban’s name made it to the trending searches three times consecutively.

The most popular topic was naturally #LuBan’sNewMovie”Doomsday”ScheduledForSpringFestival.

The other two were #LuBan’sNewMovie”Doomsday”FocusesOnHumanGrandNarrative and #LuBanTurnedTheTablesOnTalkShow.

He indeed did what he promised, and after the show ended, he gave away several movie theater cards to the guests, which they could use to exchange for movie tickets anytime.

Additionally, Lu Ban also gifted a set of DVDs of his works to the two guests, hoping they would take the time to watch his films.

“Saving the world is really exhausting,”

Lu Ban thought.

In July, the summer blockbuster season should have been in full swing, but after Lu Ban announced that his new film would be released during the Spring Festival, audiences seemed to hold their breath. This led to a rather dismal summer box office without a hit blockbuster champion.

Just when a movie about the romantic love of young girls starting college was released, attracting harsh criticism for its melodramatic plot, Lu Ban released the second trailer for his film.

That day, He Youwu from the police station under the jurisdiction of Jiangcheng University was on standby, getting ready to take over the next shift.

He was scrolling through videos on his phone, watching clean and hygienic food videos that would be online tomorrow.

After watching one, he swiped and the trailer popped up.

“Him again?”

He Youwu and Lu Ban were old acquaintances. He felt that this young man was a good person, though sometimes he seemed too individualistic, which he presumed was just the nature of artistic people.

However, credit where credit is due, Lu Ban’s films crafted an atmosphere that, matched with the actors’ skills, was truly top-notch. Even disregarding any content or ideas, just watching these movies was a treat for the eyes.

He Youwu had seen the previous trailers of Lu Ban’s film, and the effect was stunning. He was very pleased.

So, when he came across the second trailer, he didn’t think twice before playing it.

The trailer started with a news broadcast.

However, the content of this broadcast seemed to have taken a step further than the previous trailers; it was after the first round of disasters had already struck.

“… More than forty percent of the land has been submerged by sea water, leaving hundreds of millions homeless, countries unanimously declare this to be the most severe tsunami in human history…”

“… Geological experts suggest that the volcano is in a highly active state and is expected to continue erupting for the next hundred years, turning millions of square kilometers of land on the West Coast into a sea of lava…”

“… Dozens of Island Countries have lost communication, the scale of the typhoons is still expanding, and it’s only a matter of time before they affect the mainland…”

After the first onslaught of disasters, humanity seemed to have survived, but these natural calamities were just the beginning. Humanity might have to face geological disasters and climate change that could persist for hundreds, thousands, or even tens of thousands of years.

In such scenarios, common methods like detonating nuclear bombs towards the earth’s core or building arks to wait for floodwaters to recede would no longer suffice. He Youwu felt that normal people couldn’t withstand such natural disasters.

Never mind others, if He Youwu himself encountered such floods and tsunamis, he estimated he would only be able to keep hopping around for half an hour before sinking.

At this point, the camera cut to a conference room filled with representatives from various countries.

“Humanity is now at a critical moment of survival, we must unite to find a solution that can save humanity.”

One of the representatives said.

In the following scenes, some of these representatives are conflicted, some are saddened, and others are at a loss, but in the end, they finally reached a consensus.

To save humanity is not something that one country can accomplish alone; it requires the combined effort of all humankind.

One lab after another was quickly put into use, and an array of plans and blueprints appeared. All kinds of incredible, imaginative ideas started to be tested. Accompanied by background music that shifted from oppressive to passionately stirring, the spirit displayed by humanity at this critical moment moved He Youwu deeply.

Most of the comments on the short video were things like “Fired up”, “Moved to tears”, “So awesome”, and the like.

What made a difference to He Youwu was that, in the past, when he watched those “hero saves the world” scenes, he usually admired the hero’s awesomeness, but his heart rarely stirred because he knew these heroes were special, sometimes even chosen ones, far removed from ordinary people like himself.

But now, He Youwu saw the entire human race working together. Even ordinary workers could contribute to saving the world. Those buildings, those machines, were all created by the hands of ordinary people, little by little. Every breakthrough wasn’t the genius act of a lone hero but the result of everyone’s united efforts.

This made He Youwu feel a strong sense of immersion.

After all, when a real natural disaster struck, it was quite unlikely that he would be carrying a nuclear bomb to detonate a volcano, but he would unhesitatingly help his neighbors or maintain community order.

At the end of the trailer, all the efforts of mankind seemed to fade away and appeared as content within a book. A hand gently closed the book, and as the camera zoomed out, the owner of the hand, a girl in a white dress, slightly raised her eyes and looked at the audience in a world brimming with chirping birds, surrounded by animals, and full of lush greenery.

Her gaze was so pure, innocent, and unblemished, like the most dazzling gem in the world, representing all that is best.

He Youwu found it hard to deny that he might have fallen in love.

“So that’s it. Humanity ultimately saved the world, and this period of disaster became history. Everyone preserved the smile of this girl. That’s the plot!”

He Youwu had an epiphany.

At the same time, he grew more curious about what means the humans in the movie employed to stop these disasters.

He Youwu immediately went online to search.

Soon, he saw an analysis someone had posted.

The author went through the trailer frame by frame, dissecting every detail thoroughly.

“From the glimpses of plans in the trailer that lasted only fractions of a second, humans have several strategies to confront the disasters. Some have been proven to fail, some have not yet been tested. Here are a few that are very interesting.”

“For instance, this wormhole strategy— we can tell that in this film, humanity has encountered wormholes. Whether or not they can develop spacefaring technology to lead humanity through the wormhole in search of a new home might be one of the movie’s backgrounds.”

“There’s also this mechanical ascension which sounds insane, but if the movie makes it the main plot, perhaps it could delve deeper into the philosophical issues between humans and machines.”

“Lastly, there is the adaptation of humans to suit the new environment. I think under the premise that the disaster is unstoppable, this would be the best option…”

He Youwu felt the author was spot on. After reading the article and still eager for more, he scrolled through the comments.

But the very first comment was a blast.

“Utter nonsense, this author is just full of hot air!”
