I Forged the Myth of the Ancient Overlords -
Chapter 508 - 508 507. Forced extraction_1
Chapter 508: 507. Forced extraction_1 Chapter 508: 507. Forced extraction_1 When Lu Ban opened his eyes, what he saw was an unfamiliar sky.
He found it a bit strange. Why was the sky a shade of gray?
Hadn’t he supposed to have passed through the wormhole, arrived at a planet made of metal, witnessed the enormous Ancient Overlord in the sky, and then had his head explode?
As he thought about this, Lu Ban realized that he seemed to be able to see his hand again.
Raising five hands, Lu Ban saw, through the eyes on his palms, that there seemed to also be tentacles growing out of his body.
“Damn, looks like my hair’s gone.”
Lu Ban noticed his bald head.
He tried to stand up but found the height of his vision to be a bit odd.
Through the reflection of the metallic ground, Lu Ban finally got a clear view of what he looked like.
His dissolving limbs were like putty that had melted and then been kneaded arbitrarily by a mischievous child; the number of hands and feet didn’t quite match, and there were many more tentacles.
His eyes were no longer in their original places but were scattered in every corner of his body.
Lu Ban did a quick count and realized he now had seventy-eight eyes, and he felt his vision was quite impressive.
The grass inside his body had grown out, covering his skin and making him look like a mound of hay.
He looked up at the huge Divine Beings in the sky again.
This shockingly oppressive monster simply spanned across the sky, its dripping body parts forming new monsters. The planet beneath Lu Ban was orbiting around It at a high speed, possibly completing a revolution in just half an hour.
With more eyes now, Lu Ban’s observational abilities had improved a bit.
He noticed that this Divine Being also seemed to be revolving around something.
Looking closely, it was a star shining with intense light. The cosmos around the star was empty, as if it had devoured and absorbed all the objects nearby.
Instinct told Lu Ban that this thing might even be more dangerous than the huge monster in front of him; it would be wise not to get close.
After watching for a while longer, Lu Ban realized that even the colossal Ancient Overlord might be bound.
The gravity of the stars held it firmly within this Starfield. On Its body, there was also the influence of some extraordinary power that made It blind and foolish, sluggish and dumb, Unmoving, as if trapped in eternal contemplation, or as if It had been deprived of all will.
Of course, for Lu Ban, just by existing, the huge Divine Being was enough to provoke destruction.
The monsters spawned from Its dripping body had already destroyed the civilization of the Wasteland. If It were to fully awaken, then all the Foreign Domains connected by the wormholes might not escape.
At that moment, Lu Ban’s brain, located in an unknown part of his body, also came to some conclusions. That was why these monsters couldn’t travel through the Foreign Domains or the stars on their own; they had to be summoned by someone on the other side using some sort of ritual.
Because these creatures were not the fully empowered Ancient Overlords, but merely a strand of hair from those Divine Beings. When the distant Heretical Cultists recited Its name, trying to summon It, what actually passed through were these dandruff-like monsters.
“But now, I can look at It as much as I want.”
Lu Ban thought with the part of the brain on his calf.
He had clearly suffered a meltdown in Sanity just now by looking directly at that Indescribable being, burning his consciousness, and undergoing severe Corrosion, resulting in Mutation into this form.
Don’t be fooled by how lively Lu Ban seemed now; that was because he had seen all sorts of things and was accustomed to scenes like this.
If it were a Common person, there probably wouldn’t be so much talk; their brain would boil instantly upon seeing the Divine Being, turning into charred ash.
After looking directly at the Ancient Overlord, a portion of knowledge about It entered Lu Ban’s brain.
The Ancient Overlord’s unspeakable name was [******]. It had existed in this universe for ten billion years; over this vast span of time, the dregs dripping from Its body had created countless civilizations, most of which were dominated by ever-expanding, flesh-consuming monsters, the majority of which were destroyed in the course of their development, while a few were extinguished by other civilizations.
Even the entity itself had suffered a trauma due to some accident and had been bound here for billions of years.
It was not until recently that other beings visited this place and created these wormholes, causing the residual fragments of the great entity’s body to fall into other foreign domains, resulting in pollution.
As for its own will, it probably sought to absorb, accommodate, and unify all the life forms in the entire foreign domain.
When Lu Ban gained this knowledge, his body underwent corresponding changes, transforming into its current state.
Now, the question arose.
“How do I change back?”
Lu Ban didn’t know if he could revert to his original form. Normally, once a creature undergoes mutation, there’s no turning back; they can only exist in the form of monsters. A few, if they possess some extraordinary powers, might be able to heal themselves, at least appearing human on the outside.
Just like Hunter and Feng Yu, although their true forms might be indescribable monstrosities, at least they could disguise their appearance.
Lu Ban struggled to curl himself up, only to find he couldn’t quite do it.
After all, he was a person who went with the flow, didn’t actively create enemies, and pursued a peaceful life; lying flat was an instinct.
“It wouldn’t be good to stay like this forever; I should ask Feng Yu how to change back,”
Lu Ban pondered.
At that moment, Lu Ban felt as though a call was coming from behind him.
He glanced back with the eyes on his back.
The swarm flew out of the wormhole.
Countless, innumerable swarms drilled out from the wormhole, obscuring the sky and sun on this metal planet with thin atmosphere.
They flew to the higher cosmos, near the massive Divine Being, surrounding it and forming a dark stellar ring.
The endless swarm made Lu Ban feel that something was off.
So many bugs?
Moreover, he noticed that these bugs seemed to belong to different species, attacking each other.
Suddenly, several people appeared beside Lu Ban.
There was the girl in the white dress from before, along with a tall man, an elder with white hair, and a child whose youthfulness was still apparent.
All of these people had bloodless skin and pitch-black eyes, like those of bugs.
“What attracted these swarms of bugs here?”
Lu Ban saw the girl in the white dress walking towards him.
Behind the girl was a gigantic bug with three pairs of wings, three pairs of compound eyes, and numerous long legs.
The bug had a huge white, soft abdomen, seemingly filled with many eggs. Compared to the last time he saw her, it looked even more engorged.
The girl squatted down, and at the same time, the bug’s abdomen curled up, moving closer to Lu Ban.
“????”
Am I about to be forcefully drained?
Lu Ban realized belatedly.
