Chapter 490: 489. Ecological Park_1 Chapter 490: 489. Ecological Park_1 Humans!!!

Shuangxin’s heart was filled with astonishment.

She had not expected that within these ruins, such an environment could still exist, let alone other inhabitants!

Things she had only seen in records were now right before her eyes.

Shuangxin reached out and gently touched the leaves beside her, the unique tactile sensation making her tremble as if she had been electrocuted.

She saw a strange yellow bug hovering in the center of a flower, seemingly collecting something, its wings flapping and producing a buzzing sound.

A rabbit hopped by and startled Shuangxin. She crouched down and pressed down on the rabbit, the fluffy and soft feeling stunning her like never before.

Coming to the side of a stream, Shuangxin crouched and reached her hand in to touch it, the cold and clear sensation jolting her. She retracted her hand and studied the liquid on her fingertips, eventually concluding that this substance was water.

She licked her tongue over it.

“!!!”

This refreshing feeling was a completely different experience from the water stored within insects.

While Shuangxin curiously interacted with all sorts of unprecedented things, Lu Ban had his attention fixed on just one thing; he walked over to the young girl’s side.

After thinking for a bit, Lu Ban extended his hand to her side.

Then he suddenly slapped a hand down.

“!!!”

The girl immediately woke up, scrambling to her feet in a bit of a panic, drool still at the corner of her mouth.

Seeing Lu Ban, she was both surprised and scared, quickly backing away several steps, but her bare foot tripped over something, and she fell backwards, twitched once, and fell into unconsciousness again.

Lu Ban shook her a bit, but there was no response.

He checked for her breath and found that the girl had no breath left at all.

“…I seem to have killed someone.”

Lu Ban quickly took out the silver pen “Testament” and wrote a few words on the girl’s body.

[Wake up].

“Cough cough cough…”

The girl immediately came to.

Lu Ban helped her up, feeling that something about the girl’s body was odd.

A sweep with “True Sight,” and he immediately understood everything.

This girl was a robot.

He was unclear about the level of technological development humanity had achieved before the Wasteland’s destruction, but now it seemed, it was definitely much stronger than in his own original world.

The girl was confused for a while, gazing at Lu Ban’s face. Suddenly she let out another scream, stood up, and kept bowing deeply to Lu Ban.

“Sorry, sorry, sorry.”

“Are you a robot?”

Lu Ban held her down and asked.

To prevent a situation where a robot, after playing a human role for too long, deludes itself into thinking it’s human and then goes berserk, he asked straight away.

If she insisted she was human, then Lu Ban might have to let her rest a bit.

“…Yes!”

Unexpectedly, upon hearing this, the girl’s face lit up with a radiant smile, and then she straightened up, speaking with a decidedly full and enthusiastic voice.

“Welcome to the Future City Ecological Park, I am Lin, the guardian of the Ecological Park. It is my pleasure to guide you through our park, please join me in exploring the world of nature.”

This seemed to be the robot’s self-introduction.

Lin, it sounded like an Eastern name.

Her appearance was also close to an Eastern person’s, with smooth black hair, deep black eyes, fair skin, appearing to be around fourteen or fifteen years old, the age that is most endearing.

Based solely on appearance, except for some joints, it was impossible to tell she was a robot. Her eyes were lively, her skin glowed, just like a real little girl.

At this moment, Lu Ban also discovered it.

The animals in this park, were all fake.

They were all robots.

Due to advanced technology, at first glance, these creatures seemed real, with body temperatures, responding to external stimuli, and even interacting with the plants in the ecological park.

But upon closer observation, one could only notice that their movements were sometimes wooden, like soulless puppets.

Even the plants themselves were nothing more than fake products of machinery, realistic though they may be, they were still not real.

“Your name is Lin?”

Shuangxin asked, not understanding what a robot was, but from the feeling the other person gave, Shuangxin thought this child was not a common human being.

“Correct, you are… the six thousand six hundred sixty-sixth and six thousand six hundred sixty-seventh guests of Future City Ecological Park. I am very pleased to serve you!”

Lin said with a smile after a short pause.

“The six-thousandth guest… Does that mean that more than six thousand people have visited here before?”

Hope suddenly surged in Shuangxin’s eyes.

If people had visited here before, did that mean that humans from before the disaster survived, and they could bring splendid technology to help people escape their current predicament?

“Correct, since the settlement of Future City began, I have received more than six thousand guests, with a ninety-nine percent approval rate for the ecological park. This is the result of Lin and everyone’s effort together.”

The robot girl spoke fluently.

“Everyone?”

Shuangxin’s breathing quickened.

“Are there other people here?”

In her mind, the idea surfaced that people from before the disaster might be living in such closed structures, having escaped various calamities until today.

She did not understand robots, but the performance of the girl in front of her had already surpassed her knowledge. The ancient people capable of such things might be capable of even more.

Even the swarms, they might have been studied as well.

“Are you asking to inquire about the living conditions of Future City?”

Lin asked.

“Yes.”

Lu Ban responded directly on Shuangxin’s behalf.

“The total number of inhabitants logged in Future City is… one thousand six hundred seventy-three, the current number living in Future City is… zero.”

Lin said with a lively and cheerful voice.

“Zero people… Have they all left?”

Shuangxin’s eyes dimmed slightly.

“Indeed, so many years have passed, they must have left long ago.”

“There are very exciting performances in the ecological park. If you want to watch, you can wait until seven o’clock in the evening.”

Lin continued her introduction.

“Additionally, there is a restaurant in building A3 that offers food services. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me at any time. I am not only the guardian of the ecological park but also the housekeeper of Future City; providing the best service to you is my greatest pursuit.”

She acted as if completely unaware of what had happened outside, still so bright and splendid.

“There’s food.”

Lu Ban was no longer sleepy upon hearing about food.

Although he didn’t know whether food preserved for hundreds of years was still edible, it was still worth checking out.

He discussed it with Shuangxin, and they decided to first take a look at the restaurant, and if they found anything edible, they would call Singer and Moment over. This was like leading by example, braving dangers for their teammates, taking a metaphorical knife in the ribs for them.

“Then let’s first go to the restaurant and have a look, and also check out the houses here.”

“Alright, take care on your way,” Lin said.

Lin bowed deeply, and didn’t straighten up until Lu Ban and Shuangxin had left the ecological park.
