I Forged the Myth of the Ancient Overlords
Chapter 476 - 476 475. Promised Paradise_1

Chapter 476: 475. Promised Paradise_1 Chapter 476: 475. Promised Paradise_1 Dusk City was even more dilapidated compared to Misty City.

The main reason was that the Jeramaidians of Misty City were essentially the humans of this Foreign Domain, evolved from original life forms. Hence, they built magnificent buildings and possessed a splendid civilization just like humans did on Earth.

But Dusk City was a world where Divine Beings had died. Eye Demons had merely appeared as the world entered its decline, devouring other species. These buildings and cities were remnants of past splendor and had nothing to do with the Eye Demons.

They were like zombies after the extinction of humanity, gathering in a few abandoned cities, with only a handful having touched upon the extraordinary, Chosen by Gods, Foreign Domain.

In Misty City, a single city might have several million people, but here in Dusk City, there were probably only a few thousand.

But there were also advantages; the flow of information here was limited. Unlike in Misty City, where soon after settling down, one would encounter officials and even attract the attention of the king of a Foreign Domain.

Lu Ban had plenty of time to fish here.

“Are you going to set up an amusement park here?”

Feng Yu inquired.

“I’m still thinking about it.”

Lu Ban replied.

The population of this world was too sparse, and clearly, Lu Ban couldn’t attract everyone from a city; at most a hundred or two, which was inefficient.

After pondering for a while, Lu Ban thought of a method.

“Since the people here are scattered in various places, use some methods to gather them together.”

He whispered a few words to Feng Yu, and she frowned slightly.

“Are you a devil?”

She couldn’t help but ask.

“I brought them new hope.”

Lu Ban said earnestly.

Feng Yu, resigned, transformed from a human woman into the form of an Eye Demon with four eyes. She walked toward the city and soon disappeared into the horizon of the desert.

And Lu Ban, sitting in his original spot, lay down and started to grow grass in the remaining light of the setting sun.

In a certain city of Dusk City.

Ger looked at a group of his kin gathered in front of him and felt puzzled. Eye Demons had simple social interactions, without convolutions, so Ger went straight over to ask.

“What happened?”

He saw, in the middle of the crowd, a bald Eye Demon holding a scroll. Most of these scrolls were remnants from before the apocalypse, some of which recorded treasures.

For Eye Demons, treasures typically referred to the refuges of civilization before its demise, or stockpiles.

Initially, these refuges would have some survivors, insect-like crawling creatures with six arms that were the original “humans” of this world. Discovering a refuge meant a haul of hundreds or thousands of reserves, delicious food.

But eventually, those creatures were all eaten, leaving them to hope for some food in the stockpiles.

Eye Demons were pure predators, incapable of agriculture or farming, and this world did not allow such things to exist; it was a world slowly dying.

If things continued like this, Dusk City would gradually fade into silence and ultimately die completely.

Only a few Eye Demons, Chosen by Gods, had a clear goal: to find a new Foreign Domain to invade, colonize, devour the natives, and achieve evolution.

However, today’s encounter was a bit different.

“It’s about the sunshine.”

An Eye Demon beside him said.

“This document states that in thirty days, the sunshine will once again fall upon this land. At the same time, Divine Beings will be revived, and the promised paradise will appear before us.”

“Ah?”

Ger felt bewildered, What kind of scam is this?

Would the next line read, To know more, please prepare six hundred forty-eight pieces of meat and put them in my warehouse?

“This is real, I found it in some ruins, and there was another guy trying to snatch it from me, I bet he was from Radiant City.”

The Eye Demon holding the scroll said.

“Sunshine, is it true? Not this red stuff, but real sunshine?”

Another Eye Demon asked, all four of his eyes brimming with hope.

“The Divine Beings’ Revival, does that mean our world can be saved?”

Yet another Eye Demon said excitedly.

“Looking at this map, it seems like paradise is about to descend near our city.”

An Eye Demon inspected the drawings on the scroll carefully with all four of his eyes.

“This must be fake, right? Our gods have been dead for so long, how could they possibly come back to life? It’s probably some Evil God trying to deceive us.”

“I think so too, even if there were some kind of divine sign, would it really be so easy for us to find it?”

“I have a speculation, it might not be right, but could it be that we have received a blessing from the Divine Beings, allowing us to enter paradise first?”

“I haven’t done anything wrong usually. The worst I’ve done is accidentally eat my brother’s arm, but I quickly consumed his head too, so he wouldn’t feel the pain.”

“Anyway, it’s nearby, so there should be no harm in checking it out, no loss.”

The Eye Demons chattered all at once, all thinking it hard to tell if they could trust this thing, but agreeing there was no harm in just looking.

What they didn’t know was that similar messages were secretly spreading across every dwelling in Dusk City.

For the creatures of this world, sunshine, splendid sunshine, was the most precious commodity.

Even the Eye Demons longed for its glow.

Not to mention those chosen by the gods who sought to save the world.

Within days, the news had spread throughout Dusk City.

Some Eye Demons didn’t believe it, some were indifferent, but others, with the mindset of seeing for themselves without losing anything, embarked on a pilgrimage.

During this time, some Eye Demons even established the Church of Sunshine, with the aim of advancing the authority of the new god and spreading the oracles of the new god.

Within thirty days, the city’s outskirts had amassed over a hundred thousand Eye Demons.

Many Eye Demons were seeing so many of their kind for the first time.

Gathering outside the city, they initially had some disputes, but as the prophesied day drew near, many began to anticipate eagerly.

What if, what if this was true?

What if the Divine Beings really were resurrected, bringing with them a paradise of hope?

Some who originally didn’t believe couldn’t help getting excited after being influenced by others.

The Church of Sunshine spread and disseminated among these people, even though the religion’s initial purpose was only to swindle and deceive. Yet many people actually believed the lies and began to spread them.

In just a few days, different versions of the oracles were circulating, even sparking factional strife. They declared the other’s teachings heretical and set out to purge the heresy on behalf of the reborn Divine Beings.

There were also those who claimed to have seen new grass and trees outside the city, believing this to be a sign of the gods’ imminent return. In this world where the Divine Beings had died, even the sprouting of new vegetation was a thing of history, and now, the presence of growing plants meant that the Divine Beings might really be about to reappear on Earth.

In such an atmosphere, the prophesied day arrived.
