I Forged the Myth of the Ancient Overlords -
Chapter 470 - 470 469. Entertaining guests_1
Chapter 470: 469. Entertaining guests_1 Chapter 470: 469. Entertaining guests_1 Misty City appeared to be the safest place in the Foreign Domain, at least Lu Ban could use the [Twisted Mask of Pain] to disguise himself as one of the Misty City people, mingling among them without worrying about the influence of the poisonous fog.
As for the Deep Sea, Lu Ban had the ability of Underwater Breathing, allowing him to move freely, it was just that the Tide Summoner obviously possessed considerable aggressiveness, and Lu Ban had no way to transform into a merman and blend in with them.
Regarding Dusk City, it probably seemed the most suitable for Lu Ban himself to visit.
However, all three Foreign Domains had one issue in common—they lacked a modern city structure and possibly had no concept of movies and videos.
Lu Ban had indeed thought before about whether it was possible to bring some projection equipment and play movies in the open air, similar to how movies were shown in rural areas in the past.
But now it seemed that these Foreign Domains were too different from the human world, and common movies probably wouldn’t work.
Besides, the movies Lu Ban had previously made describing the conditions of the Foreign Domains might not seem so terrifying to the natives of those places.
It appeared to be somewhat difficult to obtain fear and screams through visuals.
Only through immersive scenarios could these people from the Foreign Domains feel fear.
“In that case, I could actually just directly travel to a Foreign Domain and act like a murderer or something. Killing enough people would count as completing the task, wouldn’t it?”
Lu Ban mumbled to himself.
“…Are you serious?”
Feng Yu was somewhat speechless.
“Of course I’m joking.”
Lu Ban was naturally aware that this was not some game where he could vent real-life frustrations. If he actually went on a killing spree after physically traveling there, he would soon be discovered by the high-level combat forces of that world and could even draw the attention of other Evil Gods. If those Divine Beings were to then lock down Lu Ban’s path back, and also issue a wanted mission to the Chosen by Gods of that Foreign Domain, Lu Ban would quickly change from hunter to prey.
Stirring trouble in other Foreign Domains definitely required a low profile.
“Looks like I have no choice but to use this.”
Lu Ban thought of the recently acquired [Mysterious Amusement Park].
This amusement park could obviously be carried with him, set up directly in a Foreign Domain, and start seamlessly attracting the natives. As for himself, he simply needed to slightly modify the rules of the park by removing some, which would result in misfortune befalling those who entered.
Keeping the park in each place for a while, he would always be able to gather enough instances of fear and screams.
“Have you decided then?”
Feng Yu asked.
“I’ll visit all three,”
Lu Ban answered without hesitation.
“?”
Feng Yu gave Lu Ban a look that seemed to say he was some sort of madman who had escaped from who knows where.
Lu Ban then explained his thought process to Feng Yu.
“…There seems to be some viability to that,”
After listening, Feng Yu nodded reluctantly.
“When do you plan to depart?”
She asked again. The rice in her bowl was finished, and she was preparing to ladle soup into another bowl. The loofah soup, with its simple and elegant fragrance, was perfect to warm the body and aid digestion after a meal.
“Sometime soon, or maybe after the New Year, depending on your schedule,”
Lu Ban was not in a rush. He still needed some time to study the specific workings of this town.
“I’m fine with either. Just get your affairs in order first,”
Feng Yu picked up her bowl and sipped the slightly green soup.
“There’s not much to arrange, at most to inform some acquaintances,”
Lu Ban said, and then posed another question.
“Apart from these three Foreign Domains, are there any others you can visit?”
Lu Ban now felt these Foreign Domains were unique and wanted to understand more. It would not be advantageous if a future task required him to visit similar places without any knowledge.
Since Feng Yu had been through all kinds of turmoil, there was no harm in taking advantage of the moment to glean some extra knowledge. Given Feng Yu’s considerate nature towards him, she surely wouldn’t mind.
“Yes, I’ve traveled through foreign domains far beyond your wildest imaginations, and I’ve witnessed some magnificent deaths and lonely rebirths. Unfortunately, most of those foreign domains no longer exist. The entire world is contracting, and the distances between domains are shrinking. I’m not sure if this is the doing of those great beings.”
Feng Yu spoke softly, her tone as even as if she were discussing the saltiness of the gourd soup.
“Some foreign domains choose to enter collective slumber, finding solace for their souls only in dream worlds. Others have abandoned flesh and blood, taking on steel and electricity as their new bodies. And then there are those foreign domains that have lost their free will, leaving nothing but swarms of undead, devouring everything.”
“The world you’re in is already quite peaceful, stable, and suitable for habitation, one of the foreign domains. I think Miss Shia would agree.”
Feng Yu said and put down her bowl.
“Indeed.”
Having encountered so many events in different foreign domains, Lu Ban really felt the uniqueness of this place.
“Next week then, let’s finish up quickly. Maybe you can still come back for a warm New Year’s Eve dinner.”
Thinking of the New Year’s Eve dinner personally cooked by Feng Yu, Lu Ban felt that spending the festival at home was a truly wonderful thing.
“Okay.”
After finishing the meal with Lu Ban and tidying up the dishes, Feng Yu noticed it was already past one o’clock.
Lu Ban didn’t ask Feng Yu to stay over but walked her out of the neighborhood.
Back home, he watched the news about the amusement park for a while before turning off the TV, lying in bed, and enjoying the long-missed sensation of sleep.
…
In a certain part of Jiangcheng, within an abandoned amusement park.
As Lu Ban walked through the entrance, he saw the printed rules of the amusement park.
He thought for a moment and made some changes to them.
An employee dressed in red came over and bowed to Lu Ban.
“Boss.”
As the owner of the amusement park, Lu Ban was now immune to any harm from the red-clad employees.
“Where’s the Time Worm?”
Lu Ban asked.
“Sitting over there.”
The employee in red pointed to a short distance away, where the Time Worm, disguised as a toy bear, was sitting on a bench like an unwanted teddy bear.
There hadn’t been any visitors to the amusement park in a long time, and without the ability to steal strange time, the Time Worm was famished.
Lu Ban felt it was necessary to have a talk with the Time Worm, as an employee here, to reach an agreement.
“Go tell it that I’m about to entertain a group of guests, and it can freely steal time as long as it follows the rules I set.”
He instructed the employee in red.
If Lu Ban went over himself, he might get his time stolen, so he sent the employee to convey the message.
“Understood.”
The employee in red had just nodded when he seemed to remember something and looked at Lu Ban.
“Boss, did you say you were about to entertain a group of guests?”
The otherwise unremarkable employee’s eyes suddenly brightened.
“That’s right, I plan to renovate the amusement park so it can better welcome the guests. You all need to take good care of them.”
Lu Ban said.
“Of course, the eternal smiles of our guests are our greatest pursuit.”
The corners of the employee’s mouth in red lifted.
