Chapter 333: 332. Lei Ting and Flash_1 Chapter 333: 332. Lei Ting and Flash_1 “What’s the matter?”

Lei Ting maintained a solemn and indifferent tone as he inquired.

Under the influence of the divine idol, his voice would automatically transform into some kind of mysterious gibberish, which would only cause turmoil in the minds of ordinary people, leading them to fall into madness and irritation—an advantage for deceiving and playing tricks on the believers.

Of course, there was a downside: it was less clear when listening to the other party’s words. However, there was no big issue, since Lei Ting only needed to inform the other party on how to use the divine idol. As for the actual prayers, he was not a god, so why should he care so much?

After waiting for a while, Lei Ting found it odd that there was no response from the other party and spoke up again.

“You can leave now; everything you’ve been promised will be realized.”

Typical charlatan rhetoric, specifically designed to fool those ignorant believers.

Yet, the other party still did not terminate the communication.

A bit troublesome.

The problem with this divine idol was that if the petitioner did not stop, Lei Ting could not cut off the communication from his end.

Generally, there were two solutions in such cases: either use a stern tone to strike fear and end the communication or physically find the other party and interrupt the contact.

Just as Lei Ting wondered if something had gone wrong in the middle, layers upon layers of speech finally came through from the other side of the array.

“Great My Lord, please forgive my impudence, I only wish for more of your grace.”

The voice was unclear and faint, making Lei Ting frown slightly.

“There will be grace, but it’s not the time, don’t be greedy,”

he responded.

Although the divine idol could release fog that caused food to rot, only one day had passed since the departure from the shore. If the people on the ship discovered that their food and water were spoiling, they would definitely return to port at once, and there was more than enough time for that.

Lei Ting needed to kill Amber halfway through the journey. If he stayed on the island, though Amber might not reach the Great Shrine of Harmony Island on time, she would be under strict protection, and it would be much more difficult for Lei Ting to kill her.

He did not want to linger in this foreign domain for too long.

Moreover, according to hints from the System, Lei Ting knew there was another adversary on this mission. He had no idea what means the opponent might have, or what they might look like.

It was essential to act without leaving a trace.

“My Lord, I feel terrible; perhaps the grace is not enough. Can you bestow more grace upon me?”

The other party was still not relenting.

“Feeling terrible?”

Lei Ting pondered to himself, wondering if the petitioner had been infected by the fog and contracted the plague?

But the fog should avoid the petitioner to some extent. Something didn’t add up.

“I will give you more grace, as long as you are devout enough,”

Lei Ting decided to have him leave first. If he continued to stay in the fog of the plague, even a healthy person could become infected. If this man fell ill, then Lei Ting’s plan would be in jeopardy.

“Great My Lord, I think it is because you need fresh blood. The array is nearly dry. You require new blood, and I know it. I should take it from those men, hehe.”

The voice of the other party came through again, and this time, Lei Ting could not stay put.

Had the man been completely driven mad under the influence of the divine idol?

It looked like he wanted to kill the others?

“No, you don’t have to do that. Those people are of value alive; just do as I say.”

Lei Ting urged hastily.

If this man really went off the deep end and started killing, then his prior arrangements would all go to waste.

“I understand, my lord, I will exchange their fresh blood for Your favor, I understand.”

Yet the person on the other end seemed to have misunderstood Lei Ting’s words and insisted on killing everyone else.

“No, wait, calm down, I don’t need blood. Don’t act rashly.”

Lei Ting emphasized once again.

“Hehe, my lord, hehe, I got it.”

After saying this, the person cut off the contact.

“???”

Lei Ting’s face was filled with question marks.

What exactly did he understand?

Could it be that he was going to kill others to obtain some kind of blood?

This fool!!!

“What happened?”

A voice came from nearby. Another Bandaged Person was holding a short knife made in Harmony Island, caressing the blade.

“There’s been a problem. It seems that pawn has been contaminated by the Divine Idol; his mind isn’t clear.”

Lei Ting stood up.

“I said you couldn’t do it. At the dock, we should have attacked right away, just finish off that Shrine Maiden and that would be the end of it.”

The Bandaged Person, named Flash, unlike Lei Ting who focused on the use of sealing techniques and Superpower Abilities, excelled in combat. Skilled at utilizing the body transformations of the Bandaged People, he could kill without leaving a trace. Coupled with his possession of an Extraordinary Item, he was extremely confident in head-on battles.

“That won’t do. Our enemies this time, besides the guards of the Foreign Domain, include Chosen by the Gods from other domains. Who knows what bizarre abilities he might have; acting rashly might bring disaster upon us!”

Lei Ting was exceedingly cautious. He had suffered losses in previous missions and knew not to underestimate any native from the Foreign Domain, nor any other Chosen by Gods.

He could only manage to secure that Divine Idol because of the other party’s carelessness.

“You’re too cautious. I don’t want to stay in this desolate place for too long.”

Flash sneered.

“If that guy goes off to kill, then my arrangements will soon be discovered. We need to find another way to lure them into the trap.”

Lei Ting glanced at the maritime chart.

In this mission, they were hired by the authorities, gaining significant resources. In addition to a few ships with decent combat capabilities, they also had the corresponding terrain maps, informational support, and so on.

According to the current progress, in about five more days, the Shrine Maiden’s fleet would sail into the waters near a dangerous area. If they could somehow be led astray, Lei Ting could make those ships mistakenly enter it. However, he disliked such unreliable methods, because no one could guarantee that the Shrine Maiden would definitely die upon entering those perilous waters, and Lei Ting was unwilling to risk himself by following the fleet into the area.

“Heh, when the time comes, just let me go. I trust myself more than relying on others.”

Flash laughed.

“With that attitude, you won’t last long in a Foreign Domain.”

Lei Ting couldn’t help but retort. Counting his experience, he was senior to Flash. Very few could complete more than a dozen missions in the Foreign Domain and return unscathed. If he hadn’t been cautious and, at times, cowardly in the past, the one giving their heads away wouldn’t have been his teammates but himself.

Of course, Lei Ting wouldn’t mind if Flash went off to get himself killed while probing the abilities of that Chosen by Gods. That way, he could tailor his strategies to the enemy’s capabilities.

With this in mind, Lei Ting looked again at the Array.

“It used to work so well before, how come it’s causing trouble this time?”

He decided to wait for the other party’s contact tomorrow and then see what the situation was.
