I Forged the Myth of the Ancient Overlords
Chapter 283 - 283 282. New folder_1

Chapter 283: 282. New folder_1 Chapter 283: 282. New folder_1 The clip wasn’t very long, roughly two to three minutes, just like a trailer.

Qin Tiantian initially held her shark pillow tight, anxiously waiting for the possible scary scenes to appear.

However, when the screen lit up, she saw some soldiers donned in armor, raising their longbows, with arrows lit by fire, shooting into a pitch-black forest.

Arrows fell like meteor showers, igniting the trees, but these trees, for reasons unknown, whether due to age or something else, were difficult to ignite, and even, Qin Tiantian saw the vines beginning to move slowly as if they were alive. The leaves extinguished the fire, but another volley of arrows quickly followed.

The scene before Qin Tiantian was filled with the primal struggle between man and nature, a raw beauty on full display.

The archers weren’t the long-haired, handsome elves, nor were they elite warriors clad in golden armor. They wore uneven leather armor, with all sorts of dirt on their faces, displaying an expression of real anxiety that made Qin Tiantian feel oppressed.

The scene shifted again, now to several silver-gray wolves running across the scorched earth. These wolves looked ferocious, exuding the brutal nature of wild beasts.

Qin Tiantian remembered that a movie related to wolves from the past had taken months for a crew to tame a few wolves, to film a theme that wolves cannot be tamed. Unlike the wolves in that movie, which were more like big, sharp-tongued Huskies, these silver-gray giant wolves had a ferocity that was starkly different.

It is said that humanity’s fear of predators like tigers and wolves is imprinted in our DNA. Thus, hearing a tiger’s roar can induce an involuntary panic. Now, hearing the howling of wolves, Qin Tiantian instantaneously became on alert.

What followed was a person standing bewildered in the snow, with everyone else keeping a distance as if he had something unpleasant about him. Qin Tiantian looked closely and noticed that the man’s shadow seemed to move.

The next moment, the shadow climbed onto the man’s body, and his eyes revealed extreme terror. Suddenly, he bloomed like a flower, his flesh flaying outward as if exploding from the inside, and with a squelch, he collapsed onto the ground, breathless.

His blood seeped into the snow, creating a cruel scene with a unique visual impact.

As for Qin Tiantian, she wore a befuddled expression at this sight.

Although she did not fully understand, she was deeply shocked.

Following that, there were images of knights charging fervently, and as the sound of horse hooves gradually sped up, Qin Tiantian’s excitement grew. She watched the lineup of knights barrel into a horde of Demonic Beasts that greatly outnumbered them, her heart almost in her throat, on the verge of standing up.

The video abruptly ended.

“What’s next?”

Qin Tiantian immediately turned to ask Lu Ban.

“It’s in progress, it’s in progress.”

Lu Ban exited the playback and then created a new folder next to it.

“?”

Qin Tiantian had never seen someone so shameless.

To lure her to his house, have her watch it, and then there’s nothing more.

“Isn’t recruiting people for doing this stuff?”

Lu Ban explained.

“Film production is a lot different from TV shows; it’s not as simple as dragging clips together with video software.”

“Oh!”

Qin Tiantian was impressed, though she didn’t understand.

What she was more familiar with concerning video operations was cutting clips, which meant editing the most interesting parts of a live broadcast into a video. Some who liked to mess around would even cut every other word, turning a live stream about a parenting game into a video where it seems like the mother is lamenting the absence of the father during childbirth.

It truly could leave one in darkness.

“But before, it seemed like you did most of it by yourself,”

Qin Tiantian then asked.

“Indeed, but as the workload increases, I can’t keep up anymore.”

After a moment’s thought, Lu Ban invited Qin Tiantian to his room, turned on the computer, and clicked to open a video of an archer shooting.

“Take this shot, for example. It feels quite appealing, doesn’t it? But actually, it was originally like this. Can you spot any differences?”

He opened up the original clip.

To Qin Tiantian, one shot was much like another, but the footage from Lu Ban’s sample reel obviously looked more appealing, while the original always had a strange feel to it that Qin Tiantian found somewhat jarring.

“This looks like something from a TV drama.”

Qin Tiantian could only offer her superficial critique.

“That’s a very important point,”

Lu Ban said, pointing to the shot on the sample reel.

“Here, we actually used shallow depth of field to make the main Archer stand out, with the other archers in the background blurred. This way, doesn’t it highlight this character?”

Whereas the footage from the other side clearly captured every Archer in crisp detail, much like a photo taken with a smartphone.

“Deep depth of field is suitable for large scenes, like these Knight charges, where it can convey a sense of shock. Shallow depth of field is better for close-ups. A lot of the material on my side needs corresponding adjustments, plus filters, post-production, and so on. Most of the previous scenes were in smaller settings, like hospitals or streets, so the overall production was simpler. Now that the complexity has increased, we need more manpower,”

Lu Ban patiently explained.

The raw footage provided by Silent Lands might have been high in clarity and quality, but it lacked personal emotion. A movie isn’t just a video; it’s not about simply recording what happens in front of you. Turning an initial video into the final film is a long process, and that’s why there’s a difference between the Director’s cut and the Common version.

“I completely understand now!”

Qin Tiantian nodded blankly, seeming to have gotten it, but in reality, she hadn’t grasped it at all.

“So you’re just hiring people now. Doesn’t that mean the movie wouldn’t be out until next year?”

“Not necessarily. Under normal circumstances, it should be done in three to four months. But I need to get in touch with the overseas distributors, since this time the release will be synchronized globally. There’s a lot more to prepare,”

Lu Ban explained.

“A global synchronized release???”

Qin Tiantian’s eyes widened.

When did this guy become so amazing… no, he buys houses by the floor and has already surpassed Qin Tiantian’s understanding. He’s impressive enough.

“Yeah, my goal this time is to earn five billion, so I have to go all out.”

Lu Ban said seriously.

“Five billion???”

Qin Tiantian tried to figure out how many zeros that was in her head, but it quickly overheated and crashed.

She had never seen so much money in her life.

And hearing it from Lu Ban, the five billion seemed quite effortless, as if it carried no weight at all.

The last time Qin Tiantian heard something similar was when she had busted her butt reviewing for her math exam in her senior year of high school and miraculously scored a hundred, thinking her hard work had paid off. Then she heard her friend, who spent days playing games and reading novels without studying properly, lamenting that he should have checked his work more carefully so as to score an even better grade on his 140-plus point test.

It was outright infuriating.

“Lu Ban, you’re so rich, and I’m so poor. Can we still be friends in the future?”

Qin Tiantian suddenly felt insecure.

“?”

Lu Ban glanced at the person beside him, then replied.

“When I make friends, I don’t care about how much money they have. In most cases, they don’t have as much as me anyway.”

“Damn it, get lost!”

Qin Tiantian lifted her leg and gently kicked Lu Ban.
