I Forged the Myth of the Ancient Overlords
Chapter 212 - 212 Which actors are these from_1

Chapter 212: Which actors are these from?_1 Chapter 212: Which actors are these from?_1 Sun Cheng’s thoughts wandered to some of the rumors circulating in the circles.

Starting with the third video, there were actors other than Lu Ban, and their acting skills were exceptionally superb, especially in portraying death and fear, which could be considered unparalleled.

Where on earth had he found such actors?

Initially, people thought these were Lu Ban’s friends, classmates, or fresh newcomers from film academies.

But after a few films, everyone realized that there seemed to be a larger number of these impressive actors.

Not to mention actors like Red Leaf and Shia, these beautiful women certainly couldn’t be hidden away, and journalists were frantically searching for their whereabouts, only to find no trace at all.

It’s not as if Lu Ban could just fabricate these people out of thin air.

The entertainment journalists turned Lu Ban’s life upside down, from birth to university graduation, scrutinizing everyone he had ever been in contact with, but they couldn’t find a trace of these actors.

How exactly did these people come to know Lu Ban?

Was it Jiangcheng Industries pulling the strings?

Then where did they find these actors?

Given the acting displayed in the films, these actors were strong enough to carry half of a drama on their own, not to mention the entertainment journalists, various film and TV companies were also in search.

Yet, despite all that, they vanished without a trace, leaving no clues behind.

Therefore, the talk in the industry was that Lu Ban might possess some secret acting resources, summoning these actors through special means, and some believed that he was supporting them, letting them reside in the midst of a desolate desert.

Sun Cheng felt that perhaps those journalists were just incompetent, unable to dig out the truth.

In his time staking out Lu Ban’s place from across the door, he was quite sure that Lu Ban had no time to foster a troupe of actors in a desert; Sun Cheng was more inclined to believe it had to do with Jiangcheng Industries’ connections.

A day passed, and Sun Cheng continued his vigil behind the camera.

Lu Ban didn’t like to draw the curtains during the day; they were usually left half-open to let the sunlight in.

That morning, Lu Ban was sitting in front of his computer working and studying, and Sun Cheng’s lens could capture Lu Ban watching a video, deeply engrossed.

Suddenly, Sun Cheng noticed an obscure figure seemed to emerge behind Lu Ban.

“Is it his lover?”

He adjusted the lens towards Lu Ban’s back, only to discover that the figure was indistinct, not resembling a normal person, but rather something akin to a supernatural phantom.

Wrapped in black mist, hazy and indistinct, it stood behind Lu Ban, raising its hand.

“Damn!”

Sun Cheng’s first reaction was that some fanatical fan or pervert had broken into Lu Ban’s house and was about to lay hands on him; immediately, he snapped several photos. He didn’t call the police but chose to wait for further developments.

Compared to calling the police and exposing his own illicit photography, it was obvious that an incident involving Lu Ban would make for far bigger news.

However, Sun Cheng soon noticed, the shadow started to slowly turn its neck, angling toward his direction.

On its dark face, void of any discernible expression, it seemed to reveal a smile that split from one corner of the mouth to the ear.

“!”

Sun Cheng was startled and instinctively stepped back.

Realizing something, he quickly returned to the camera, only to see that Lu Ban was no longer in his chair, while the shadowy figure was preparing to leave the room.

“Has Lu Ban been killed?”

Sun Cheng hurriedly took several photos and, as he was about to message his colleague, he heard the sound of the doorbell.

Ding-dong—

“Who is it?”

Sun Cheng, upon hearing this, shivered slightly, reassured himself by checking Lu Ban’s room once more, and then quickly made his way to the door.

Peering through the peephole, Sun Cheng saw that the hallway was completely empty, with nothing in sight.

“Who’s playing pranks?”

He muttered under his breath and had just turned around when the doorbell rang again.

“Who’s there?”

While asking toward the door, Sun Cheng continued to look through the peephole.

This time, he saw standing in the hallway outside the door, a dark, blurred figure.

The figure was the same one that had appeared behind Lu Ban a moment ago!

“What the hell!”

Sun Cheng’s heart was pounding furiously, and he hastily withdrew his head, unsure of what to do next.

“He must have realized that I captured the scene of him committing the murder, and now he’s preparing to come over and destroy the evidence!”

“I need to call the police, I have to do it right now!”

At this point, Sun Cheng no longer cared about those things; if Lu Ban’s house could be broken into, then his own door was surely no match for this murderer.

Click—

Sun Cheng heard the sound of his security door’s gears turning, the seemingly impenetrable door appeared as if it could be pried open at any moment.

He hurriedly dialed the phone.

“…Hello, is this the police? Someone is trying to kill me, please, come save me…”

“Can you please clarify, where are you right now, and what problem have you encountered?”

The responding officer inquired.

Sun Cheng quickly gave his address, he looked at the doorknob as it seemed to start turning and frantically reached out to stop it from moving.

“So, you are here, huh.”

At that moment, Sun Cheng suddenly heard a voice coming from behind him.

He hurriedly turned around, only to see a blurry dark figure, standing right there behind him!

The figure leaned towards Sun Cheng, and the Journalist immediately saw blackness, losing consciousness.

Ten minutes later, He Youwu and Chen Danshen arrived at the reported location.

The two officers saw the door ajar and heightened their alertness, gripping the riot batons in their hands.

“Be careful, watch out, there might be an ambush.”

The two officers—one pushed the door open while the other quickly entered the room, but they only found Sun Cheng lying on the ground, still holding his phone.

After checking the room, Chen Danshen only saw heaps of professional photography equipment and electronic devices, no sign of any murderer.

Sun Cheng, of course, was still alive.

When they woke him up, Chen Danshen took out a voice recorder.

“Did you just call the police?”

Sun Cheng looked around, still somewhat bewildered, and only after seeing Chen Danshen’s police uniform did he snap out of it with a start.

“Yes, just now, there was a murderer in my room, he, he killed Lu Ban… and he wanted to kill me… ”

He babbled incoherently, appearing very panicked.

“Killed Lu Ban?”

He Youwu was somewhat surprised.

“Yes, yes, I took photos, look, the photos…”

Sun Cheng hurriedly took out his camera to show the two officers the photos he had secretly taken.

However, the photos only showed Lu Ban’s daily life, with no black figures at all.

“Comrade, this photo of yours, it doesn’t seem to have been taken through normal means, has it?”

He Youwu looked at the photos in the camera.

“…”

Sun Cheng was speechless, and before he could react, He Youwu had already taken the camera.

“How about you come with us to the station and talk?”

He looked at Sun Cheng, speaking seriously.

Looking at the vacant room opposite, Lu Ban felt a sense of relief.

“It’s almost New Year’s, and it’s hard to find a place.”

He remarked and glanced at the message on his phone.

It was time to meet the investors.
