I Forged the Myth of the Ancient Overlords
Chapter 158 - 158 157. Tape_1

Chapter 158: 157. Tape_1 Chapter 158: 157. Tape_1 In the slightly hoarse voice of the narrator, Tiantian saw a construction site where it seemed the person talking was in charge of the demolition work for a hospital.

“This is the hospital that was torn down before, right? Did you go to the actual site to scout for locations?”

Tiantian asked curiously.

“Sort of.”

Lu Ban responded, as he not only went to scout for locations but also directly caused the scene to disappear.

“You can’t even make out the faces of these people; your photography skills aren’t up to par.”

Tiantian even joked.

In this reenactment on the tape, the camera often used first-person perspectives, shots from behind moving forward, and angles peering out from various ruins, making it difficult to see what the actors really looked like. There was also a sense of someone peeping at the characters.

The beginning segment was a normal demolition, but when the workers started the excavator to dismantle the hospital building, something abnormal happened.

Tiantian clearly saw, in the window of the abandoned hospital, in front of the excavator’s shovel, there seemed to be a little girl standing!

“Hiss—”

She felt a bit panicked and took a breath because the girl only flashed by, so Tiantian didn’t know if she had really seen her.

But when the person in charge of the construction site led the workers into the hospital building to search, Tiantian saw several people walking through the hallway, and quickly behind them, in the stairwell, a white figure dashed past.

“!!!”

Tiantian felt her scalp tingle at once; needless to say, since a moment ago, she felt as if she, along with these workers, had entered that abandoned hospital building and smelled the dust and medicines.

In the next scene, Tiantian saw the person in charge of the construction site driving a car while talking on the phone. From the conversation, it was clear that he had successfully demolished the building and was now on the highway home.

At this moment, the person in charge put down the phone, turned his head, and saw a nurse in white appear on the passenger seat. The nurse had a pale blue complexion, her eyes had no whites, and her expression was hideous and terrifying.

The man in charge of the site lost control of the steering wheel, and the entire car headed straight for the guardrail before crashing.

Tiantian was startled by the explosion of the car accident and saw the burning car, feeling the heat wave hit her face, but instead of feeling the heat, her back was cold.

“Was that revenge just now? The ghost in the hospital avenging the demolition of the building?”

She asked Lu Ban but realized he did not reply; she did not know when, but he seemed to have left the room already.

“?”

Tiantian subconsciously wanted to pause, but the narration resumed.

His voice had changed as if another person had taken over.

This second person in charge of the site continued the demolition work, and as they sorted out the previously demolished building, they discovered that the cement pillars inside were actually hollow, and more so, the shape of the hollow columns looked like a person!

A person had been forcibly buried inside the cement pillars!

Tiantian curled up her legs, her entire body shrinking into the chair, shivering.

She then saw the workers, while inspecting, the elevator which was supposed to have no power suddenly started on its own, injuring someone, and also, a worker inspecting the building as if possessed suddenly jumped down from the fifth floor.

In the end, only the construction site manager sat alone in the duty room, making notes with a pen, and what he was recording seemed to be the content of this cassette tape.

Suddenly, he raised his head and noticed the light turn on in a room at the end of the corridor on the fifth floor of the dark hospital main building.

As if possessed, the construction site manager stood up and slowly walked towards the hospital building.

The dilapidated hospital emitted a nauseating odor. Qin Tiantian tensed up, gripping her arms tightly, wanting to look away from the screen, yet unable to suppress her curiosity.

She saw the construction site manager walking in the dimly lit hospital with a flashlight. With each step, the flashlight illuminated a dark area, revealing hidden objects such as broken medicine bottles and dirty sheets and clothes. The appearance of each item made her heart skip a beat, never allowing her to relax.

Finally, the construction site manager reached the fifth floor and the room at the end of the corridor. The room had no windows and the door was ajar with a light on inside. The manager, his eyes bloodshot, pushed the door open. As light flooded the entire screen, the tape abruptly stopped.

From the following dialogue of Lu Ban, it’s evident that the construction site manager ultimately disappeared.

“Did he walk into that room and then disappear?”

Qin Tiantian couldn’t help but wonder.

The real plot gave her time to think. From this section of the recording, it was apparent that there was indeed something wrong with the hospital, and it might even be haunted. After the initial sense of horror had passed, what remained for Qin Tiantian was confusion and suspense.

She saw that, in the movie, Lu Ban, after listening to the first recording, conducted some investigations and connected all the clues of the event.

Then, Lu Ban began to listen to a second recording.

It was a confession from a nurse, who saw an elderly person from the ICU appearing in the room at the end of the corridor and waving at her during her night rounds. This scene was even more terrifying, especially when the puppet-like old person waved at the nurse, causing Qin Tiantian’s skin to crawl.

After watching this recording, Qin Tiantian’s curiosity was entirely piqued.

“What exactly is in the room at the end of the corridor?”

Having watched up to this point, she clearly understood the movie’s central hook, which was the room at the end of the corridor, whether it be the worker’s disappearance or the bizarre phenomenon witnessed by the nurse, it was all connected to that room on the fifth floor.

This was similar to the suspense revealed at the beginning of a mystery movie: Who is the killer? In such a case, Qin Tiantian’s attention was focused completely on various details, trying to find the answer to the room at the end of the fifth-floor corridor ahead of the plot.

The third recording, likewise, came from a nurse.

This nurse was on night shift, and among her somewhat nagging and mercenary confession, Qin Tiantian felt as if she could also smell the disinfectant and medicines.

The nurse was woken up, but her colleague looked rather strange. Qin Tiantian immediately thought of the old person who had waved like a puppet earlier.

“Could it be that this nurse has already…”

She saw the nurse walking lightly, the first-person perspective following, appearing strangely ominous.

At night, the lights in the hospital were off, and the corridors were pitch-dark, only lit by the elevator’s light.

The two entered the elevator. The oppressive, enclosed space made Qin Tiantian instinctively uncomfortable. She saw the nurse in the first-person view looking around anxiously. Soon, the camera focused on the mirror inside the elevator.

In the mirror was the reflection of the first-person nurse herself, and beyond that, no one else could be seen in the elevator.

The camera shook momentarily, turning towards the leading nurse and then back to the camera.

Undoubtedly, there was no reflection of her in the mirror!

Moreover, Qin Tiantian noticed that the nurse was standing on tiptoes, and she remembered that only dead people walked like that!
