Chapter 39: Co-Worker

"But then again... it’s not like I can go back and change things now."

There was no guidebook to tell him the ’right’ way to grow stronger. No one to give him advice. He was figuring everything out on his own, step by step.

"Well... if I end up struggling later, I’ll just have to train harder and push through."

That was the one thing he could always rely on—hard work.

The good news was that earning stat points wasn’t as difficult as he originally thought. As long as he kept clearing quests, his numbers would naturally go up.

Besides, if one day he realized that a particular stat was more important than the others, he could always shift his focus then. He had options.

"And worst case... I still have Linda’s quest to farm points."

That thought made him smirk.

It was true. No matter what happened, he had a way to keep progressing. And who knew? Maybe having evenly spread stats would pay off in unexpected ways. If he ever got stuck, maybe that balance would let him complete C-rank quests more easily than someone who only specialized in one thing.

For now, though, he had bigger things to focus on.

With Linda’s training session wrapped up, Alex stretched his arms and took a deep breath.

It was time for the next step.

B-rank quests.

Even just thinking about it made his pulse quicken slightly.

Not too long ago, he barely managed to scrape by with C-rank quests. He had struggled, failed, and learned the hard way that raw ability wasn’t enough—he needed discipline. Control.

But that was then.

Now? Now he was stronger. Now he knew how the game works and the quest works. Last time, his failure wasn’t because of a lack of skill. It was because he didn’t know any better or how it works.

Back then, his endurance was too low. The moment things got too intense, he crumbled. He was like an inexperienced rookie thrown into a championship game—overwhelmed, unable to hold himself together.

But thanks to his training, that weakness was gone.

His improved stats had given him an edge, making his body more resilient. He had tested it firsthand with Ella, pushing his limits, seeing how long he could last. And for the first time, he had felt something new—confidence.

He wasn’t at the mercy of his instincts anymore. He could endure. He could perform. And that meant one thing—C-rank quests were no longer a problem for him.

"Then there’s no reason to wait, is there?"

He clenched his fists, his decision firm. He had been preparing for this moment. There was nothing holding him back now.

Without hesitation, he pulled up the B-rank quest list he had skimmed through earlier. His eyes scanned the options, his pulse steady, his mind clear.

....

Chapter 1: A New Challenge

The glowing blue interface hovered in front of me, displaying my current stats.

[Name: Alex

Age: 23 Years

Size: 30

Strength: 32

Power: 30

Speed: 30

Endurance: 30

Control Power: 30]

I crossed my arms, staring at the numbers. Considering that the maximum stat potential was 99, I had already come a long way. My progress wasn’t bad—actually, it was quite impressive.

"...Wasn’t it the right choice to raise everything evenly?"

It seemed like a safe and logical approach. Instead of specializing in just one area, I had distributed my points equally, ensuring that no single stat lagged behind.

But even so, I couldn’t shake off a certain uneasiness.

It wasn’t common to take this kind of approach. Most people preferred to focus on one or two core stats, pushing them as high as possible. There were no guides, no community discussions, and no seasoned experts offering advice—I was entirely on my own.

"If I end up failing, I can always work harder later, right?"

I exhaled, pushing my doubts aside. There was no point in overthinking it.

The good news was that gaining stat points wasn’t that difficult. As long as I took on higher-ranked quests, I could always readjust and improve in the areas that mattered most. At the very least, I was prepared to grind through the tougher missions, even if they were exhausting.

And who knows? If I ever got stuck, I could always fall back on C-rank quests. With my current stats, completing them would be easier, which meant I could farm additional stat points without much risk.

Either way, there was only one thing to do now.

"First, it’s time for a B-rank challenge."

With that decision made, I turned my back on Linda’s apartment, walking away without hesitation.

I had spent enough time on C-rank quests already. It was time to move forward.

A few weeks ago, I had failed my earlier attempts at clearing C-rank quests. The reason?

I couldn’t last long enough.

No matter how well I handled the situation, my body always betrayed me before I could finish the task. It had been frustrating, humiliating even.

But that wasn’t the case anymore.

My endurance had improved, and my sensitivity had decreased thanks to my balanced stat growth. I had felt the difference when I was with Ella—I was able to keep going longer, control my body better, and perform far beyond my past limits.

Now, if I played my cards right, C-rank quests would be nothing more than a warm-up.

But today, I wasn’t aiming for C-rank anymore.

Today, I was moving up.

I pulled up the list of B-rank quests I had reviewed earlier.

The quest selection system was frustratingly inconvenient, so the best way to find new missions was to check the recently updated quest list. I had already gone through it in advance, marking a few promising quests that caught my interest.

As I scrolled through the list, I narrowed my choices down to two.

"Hmm."

My first option was a quest I didn’t fully understand.

It seemed to involve some kind of S&M roleplay, where I had to help a woman realize her submissive tendencies through controlled training.

I had done something similar with Linda, but she had already been aware of her own preferences. This time, it would be different. I would have to guide someone through the process, helping them discover a side of themselves they didn’t know existed.

Could I really pull that off?

Maybe. But it felt like too much of a gamble.

The second option was more strategic than physical.

A woman wanted to lure her colleague away from her current boyfriend and get her to fall for me instead.

It sounded simple on the surface, but it was a high-risk, high-reward type of quest. The challenge wasn’t just about attraction—it was about manipulating the situation, creating the right opportunities, and playing my role carefully.

More importantly, this quest didn’t rely too much on raw stats like speed or power. Instead, it required charisma, persuasion, and careful planning.

"Hmm."

I weighed my options carefully.

It wasn’t just about the quest difficulty. Both women involved were exactly my type—which meant that either way, the experience would be enjoyable.

Still, I had to be smart about my choice.

"Damn it. Let’s go with this one first."

If my stats were high, my chances of success would be even higher.

In the end, I locked in my decision.

The mission to seduce a coworker.
