I Became The Vampire Progenitor
Chapter 200-1: I Hope You Will Become the Vice President of Demon Heart (Part 1)

Under Li De's slightly tense gaze, the aura around Wales grew stronger and stronger.

The room was soon caught in a surge of energy.

The hooded figures in the shadows raised their guards, eyes fixed sharply on Li De’s group. If anything unusual happened, they would launch the most brutal of attacks.

Li De watched the 19th-level Mind Eater, his aura soaring, and took a deep breath. He turned his head and slowly shook it at Betty, who was already gripping her sword tightly, ready to unleash a devastating strike at any moment.

He stopped the Northern royal from taking action.

Even though Wales seemed vulnerable standing right in front of him, Li De could feel it. If everyone in the room attacked together, they still might not be able to bring down this powerful half-demon. That was the intuition born from his Vampire Progenitor bloodline. It would not deceive him.

Wales was no Cologne, masquerading as a 19th-level Magma Demon who could barely wield half the strength of such a creature. This was the real deal, a genuine 19th-level dark giant. No matter how strong Betty was, she would have little chance of victory against a being half a step into Transcendence. No one could truly know how strong he was.

It wasn’t until ten whole minutes later that the turbulent energy in the room began to subside.

Li De had been watching Wales’s status panel intently the entire time. Seeing that it still displayed Level 19, he let out a huge sigh of relief.

Good. He hadn’t actually broken through.

At the same time, Li De felt a twinge of regret, this was a brutal lesson. Better hold back on the bluffing next time. He'd nearly empowered the enemy.

Wales opened his blood-red eyes, and the room’s tension instantly deepened under his brutal and bloody glare.

Li De immediately sensed a spiritual shock crashing toward him and activated his faith energy to protect his soul.

Only then did the cold, savage aura vanish.

Abyssal Demon bloodline talent: Crimson Eye.

When used to gaze upon an enemy, it triggers a Willpower check. If failed, the target falls into fear, suffers mental disarray, and suffers a dramatic drop in combat effectiveness.

It was a talent unique to Abyssal Demons.

Instead of easing the tense atmosphere, Wales’s awakening only made things heavier. The Mind Eater’s sudden behavior was simply too abnormal.

Wales, dressed in luxurious formalwear, suddenly stood up and, under everyone’s wary gaze, solemnly stepped forward toward Li De.

The room seemed to freeze.

Everyone’s attention followed Wales’s every move.

The mysterious figures in the shadows drew their swords with a faint ring, ready to strike alongside their master at any moment.

The bald man in black formalwear began gathering magical energy in his hand. The fluctuation of power radiated danger.

Behind Li De, Grote’s muscles contracted like a coiled spring, ready to deliver a world-shattering slash at a moment’s notice.

Betty bent her knees slightly like a hunting leopard. Behind the mask, her wild eyes locked on Wales. The closer he got, the more intense her fighting spirit burned. Her greatsword began to emit a subtle glow of Extreme Will.

The Northern Valkyrie was wild and aggressive beneath her mask.

And yet, Li De didn’t flinch in the slightest. His sharp eyes were fixed on Wales.

At the same time, he had already activated Shadow Step, a spell he learned from Emi. If the Mind Eater dared to strike, he would react in an instant to support his subordinates in slaying this dark boss.

Just as the room was at a breaking point, like a bowstring drawn to the limit, Wales stopped before Li De.

And in a moment that stunned everyone.

This 19th-level Mind Eater, lord of Demon Heart, a dark boss with half-demon blood, bowed deeply and respectfully with his hand to his chest.

“Majestic Iro, Wales offers you his highest reverence.”

The room fell into a bizarre silence.

No one knew how to react to the scene in front of them.

Majestic?!

The bald man by Wales’s side immediately dispelled the magic in his hand, staring at Li De in disbelief.

To be addressed as Majestic by Lord Wales, could it be…

[T/N: The actual title of Transcendents can be translated as Your Majesty or even Lord, it doesn’t really fit well and seems awkward so i’ll translate the title as Majestic when referring to someone who is a Transcendent. Your Majesty or Lord will still be used where appropriate since it’s the same title used for leaders of races, nobles etc but when referring to known Transcendents it will be Majestic.]

And this vampire had just instructed Lord Wales. In mere moments, he had made the man stronger.

Only one explanation remained, Transcendent!

Realization dawned on the bald man’s face. He had suspected that this vampire was not ordinary, maybe even someone on par with his own master.

But now, Wales’s behavior confirmed everything.

This unassuming vampire, whose presence was weaker than a commoner’s, was someone even mightier than Lord Wales.

He could make his lord bow and salute, something the bald man had never seen in his entire life.

After a moment’s thought, his expression shifted. His head, once proudly held high, now bowed low to follow his master. He placed a hand to his chest and saluted Li De.

To a strong being, the proper respect must be shown.

Especially when the other party might be a Transcendent.

A Transcendent could wipe them all out with a flick of the wrist. Only Lord Wales might escape alive.

Before such overwhelming power, any amount of reverence was not only appropriate, it was necessary.

The other mysterious individuals hidden in the shadows were also stunned by what they saw. Following Wales and the bald man, they too bowed with their hands to their chests.

No one in the underworld survived long by being foolish.

In mere seconds, the atmosphere had shifted from a powder keg ready to explode... to something else entirely.

Betty and Grote exchanged looks. Their hearts surged.

Before coming here, they had sharpened their weapons, donned the sturdiest dwarf-forged armor, and packed the best equipment and scrolls they could find.

They were fully prepared for a brutal battle.

And now?

The enemy’s top boss, one of the most feared names in Green City’s underworld had practically surrendered to their own 13th-level boss.

What even was this?

Looking at Li De’s calm and composed figure, they didn’t know how to describe the feeling, but one thing was clear:

By the Goddess of Life... perhaps Lord Progenitor truly was a Child of the Creator, blessed by the Creator Himself.

Even Emi felt disoriented. Could Lord Progenitor truly be the God of Dawn incarnate, walking the mortal plane?

How else could he achieve this?

Li De stared at the respectful Wales and let out a breath of relief internally. Thank the heavens he hadn’t gotten carried away.

His gaze remained sharp as he stared at the dark boss.

“Wales, have you... comprehended?”

Wales straightened, face full of excitement.

“Lord Iro, thank you for your teaching. Your mercy and generosity are enough for the Creator to sing your praises.

Under your guidance, I’ve already felt the touch of Transcendence.

Give me ten years, no, five! Five years, and I will become Transcendent!”

His voice grew increasingly excited.

“Great Lord Iro, from this day forward, you are the most honored guest of Demon Heart.”

Li De inwardly sighed with relief. Thank goodness the breakthrough wasn’t immediate. Five years? In five years, he was confident he could deal with someone just newly ascended to Transcendence.

“Not bad. Your talent may not be the highest, but your thirst for power is among the strongest I’ve ever seen.

That you’ve touched the edge of Transcendence is no small feat.”

Wales beamed with joy. Praise from a being capable of wielding the power of the Gods of Light, what an honor!

“Lord Iro, it is my greatest fortune to earn your approval.”

Thanks to Li De’s “guidance,” his stagnant power had surged, and he finally glimpsed a threshold he’d spent centuries yearning for.

Wales no longer doubted Li De, not even slightly. Only reverence remained.

This was a being of power far beyond his understanding.

To be taught by such a being was surely a blessing from the Goddess of Luck. No, a gift from the Abyss itself.

Even if someone told him now that the vampire before him was just Level 13, he’d never believe it.

He might even cut out that liar’s heart.

Such a magnificent figure, how could he be anything less than a being beyond Transcendence?

People always believe what they want to believe. The truth often matters far less.

Li De, looking at the thoroughly bamboozled Wales, was deeply satisfied.

The longest path is to scheme. Schemes win hearts.

His expression remained impeccably divine.

“Though you have touched Transcendence, remember, Wales, Transcendence is only the beginning.

Eternity is what we must pursue.

Do not forget your original heart. To begin and to finish is the true path to power.”
