Chapter 91: You’d Better Not Make Me Angry

Chapter 91: Chapter 91: You’d Better Not Make Me Angry

Fang Anning anxiously awaited the exam results.

Fortunately, three days later she received a text message; she had passed all three subjects.

But the scores were a bit low, with one subject barely scraping by with 61 points, just making the cut.

"That was too close," Fang Anning couldn’t help but pat her excited little heart.

She was just a hair’s breadth away from failing and having to retake the exam.

"Wife, Mrs. Liao has returned."

Just as Fang Anning was about to go downstairs to tell Mrs. Chen the good news, Mrs. Chen came up mysteriously to tell her.

Fang Anning frowned, "Why has she come?"

Ever since she had been with He Tingchen, whether it was before or now, He Min, as the He family’s daughter, had never once visited.

Previously she had found it strange; after all, Old Mr. He was He Min’s father. Liao Hanfeng was always hanging around the He family house, but He Min had never come.

Unexpectedly, she arrived today.

"I don’t know, Mrs. Liao hasn’t come for a long time, she’s visiting Old Mr. He now and will probably come to see you later. Do you want to call your husband and ask him to come back?" Mrs. Chen suggested.

"Why should he come back?" asked Fang Anning, puzzled.

Mrs. Chen replied, "I’m worried that Mrs. Liao will make things difficult for you."

Fang Anning laughed lightly, surprised that Mrs. Chen was so concerned for her.

She quickly shook her head and said, "It’s fine, how could she make things difficult for me? I have the He family’s child in my belly; unless she doesn’t want to bear the He surname anymore, she wouldn’t dare to trouble me."

"That’s true, no matter what, Mrs. Liao has always been very devoted to the He family. Before she was married, she had a good relationship with your husband’s father; as brother and sister, they had a deep affection. She loved your husband even more than Young Mr. Feng, so she will surely treasure your husband’s child as well," Mrs. Chen nodded.

"Does Old Mr. He only have her and your husband’s father as his children?" Fang Anning asked.

Mrs. Chen fell silent, then after a while, she awkwardly smiled and said, "Those are all things of the past, wife, it’s better not to inquire. When Mrs. Liao comes over, be careful in your dealings with her and don’t provoke her; she has quite the temper."

Fang Anning nodded.

She didn’t need Mrs. Chen to remind her about He Min’s temper.

Having met her twice, Fang Anning had already learned deeply.

Sure enough, after He Min returned from Old Mr. He, she came to see Fang Anning.

However, Fang Anning saw traces of tears in her eyes; why had she cried after visiting her own father?

"Aunt," Fang Anning greeted with a smile.

He Min looked at her with disdain, nodding lightly and said, "You do have some manners, but what kind of love potion did you give to Fengfeng to make that kid speak for you like that?"

"What kind of love potion could I possibly give Young Mr. Feng? Young Mr. Feng is staunchly considerate towards Mr. He. If he is willing to speak for me, it must mean that I am beneficial for Mr. He, and that’s why he spoke on my behalf!" Fang Anning said with a smile.

"Sharp-tongued," He Min snorted.

She went to sit on the couch and had Mrs. Chen serve her tea.

Mrs. Chen knew what she liked to drink and quickly brought over rose tea.

He Min saw Fang Anning still standing at a distance, clueless, and coldly snorted, "Come over and sit, I won’t eat you."

Fang Anning gave an embarrassed smile and finally walked over to sit opposite her.

"How has your health been lately?" He Min asked.

Fang Anning quickly answered, "Doing well, I can eat and sleep."

"I’m not asking you," He Min hummed coldly.

Fang Anning smiled and said, "I know you’re not asking me, but isn’t this child in my belly? If I’m doing well, so is he. Only if I can eat and sleep can he grow well."

"How are the prenatal checkup results?" He Min took a deep breath, this girl is doing it on purpose, isn’t she?

"Of course very good, Mr. He accompanies me every time, and the results are always satisfactory," Fang Anning said with a smile.

"Is it a boy or a girl?" He Min quickly asked.

"We haven’t asked that yet," said Fang Anning.

He Min frowned, "Why didn’t you ask? The hospital is owned by your family, could it be that the doctors refuse to say?"

"They would surely tell us, it’s just that we never thought to ask. If Mr. He doesn’t ask, how could I dare to?" Fang Anning said truthfully.

He Min took a deep breath and said, "Next time, ask. It’s better to know the gender earlier so you can prepare in advance."

Fang Anning awkwardly smiled and said, "Then you should directly tell Mr. He to ask, I really don’t dare to."

"Humph, you seem to have the gall for everything else, what’s there to fear? I really don’t know what sort of bewitching techniques you’ve used. So many who are prettier and more outstanding than you, none of them caught his eye, but somehow, he chose you," He Min said disdainfully.

Fang Anning nodded, "You’re not wrong, perhaps, this is fate."

"Fate? What do you think you are? Cinderella? A phoenix rising from the ashes? Don’t make me laugh, someone like you, at best, is just a reproductive machine. Don’t think I don’t know the reason why you’re having Tingchen’s child. Fang Anning, you’d better behave and keep me satisfied, then I wouldn’t mistreat you in the future. But if you don’t know what’s good for you, even if the Old Mr. He agrees to give you that much money, you might not be able to keep it," He Min threatened

Fang Anning: "..."

"Mrs. Liao is not wrong, a penniless and powerless wild girl like myself can’t even compare to Cinderella. At least Cinderella’s father was a count, whereas my father is scum; naturally, I cannot rise to a higher branch, because I simply cannot fly. However, even so, Mrs. Liao, you may be overconfident about yourself. As you said, He Tingchen didn’t fancy those more beautiful and outstanding than me, yet he fancied me. What does that imply? It implies I still have something that appeals to him. Do you believe, with your threats to me, I could also cause him to have ill feelings towards his aunt?"

"You dare threaten me?"

He Min was stunned and furiously slammed the table as she exclaimed in anger.

Fang Anning curled her lips and suddenly clutched her stomach, starting to groan in pain, "Ah, my stomach hurts, it really hurts."

He Min: "..."

"What’s with the act? You were fine just now, how come your stomach suddenly hurts?"

Mrs. Chen ran over as if on wings, quickly supporting Fang Anning and asking, "What’s wrong, wife?"

"My stomach hurts," Fang Anning said painfully, biting her lip.

Hearing this, Mrs. Chen immediately asked someone to call the doctor and to inform the husband.

She helped Fang Anning to lie down.

She was giving Fang Anning water, and checking her lower body, fearing any signs of a miscarriage.

The doctor arrived quickly and checked Fang Anning’s pulse, asking about her condition.

He Tingchen also returned very swiftly, ignoring Mrs. Liao entirely, and asked the doctor, "How is she?"

"Rest assured, no harm done," the doctor promptly replied.

"Why is her stomach hurting?" He Tingchen asked further.

The doctor thought for a moment and answered, "It might be a dietary issue or perhaps emotional stress, both could cause abdominal pain."

He Tingchen gave Mrs. Chen a stern look.

Mrs. Chen hurriedly said, "There’s absolutely no issue with her diet; I oversee the wife’s meals personally. As for emotional aspects..."

She said, glancing towards Mrs. Liao.
