Fang Anning was drenched with cold water and spent a frozen night, and the next day, she caught a terrible cold.

Her nose ran and she wouldn’t stop sneezing, without even a tissue to use, only able to wipe it on her sleeve.

How many years had it been since she last resorted to something so disgusting?

She never thought that as an adult, she could still end up doing something this repulsive.

"Sir asked me to take you to have a bath and change into clean clothes."

Suddenly, the door opened, and Mrs. Chen walked in from outside. But she spoke with a stern face, lacking any of the previous warmth and kindness.

Fang Anning quickly nodded; she had been cold all night, feeling a chill even deep in her bones.

Now, all she wanted was to quickly take a hot shower, not able to think much about anything else.

Mrs. Chen led her to the guest room, and she hurried into the bathroom to turn on the tap.

The hot water came down, making her shiver intensely.

It took a while before she slowly got used to the heat, feeling comfortable both mentally and physically.

When she finished bathing and came out, she saw Mrs. Chen had brought a set of clean clothes and was waiting for her.

Fang Anning took the clothes and thanked her, then went back into the bathroom to get dressed.

When she came out again, she saw Mrs. Chen holding a cup of hot milk.

Fang Anning was so touched!

She quickly took it and drank it all in one gulp, and after finishing the milk, moved by emotion, she lunged towards Mrs. Chen, giving her a tight hug: "Mrs. Chen, thank you so much!"

Mrs. Chen quickly pushed her away, saying coldly, "Miss Fang, please show some decorum; you and I are not close."

"Mrs. Chen, what’s wrong? How are we not close? We have been together day and night for so long, we couldn’t possibly be closer."

"Hmph, Miss Fang really overestimates me. I’m just a servant, how could I be close with someone like Miss Fang?" Mrs. Chen snorted coldly.

Fang Anning frowned, looking at her puzzled.

Mrs. Chen, a person of honest and simple character, acting so strangely all of a sudden was indeed odd.

And thinking about the way Tingchen treated her yesterday, she felt something was very wrong.

"I didn’t flirt with anyone, and I certainly didn’t cheat," she hurriedly explained.

"I heard it was sir catching you in the act of cheating, even Mrs. Liao saw it with her own eyes, do you still want to deny it?" Mrs. Chen looked at her unwilling to admit, becoming even more furious.

Fang Anning was dumbfounded!

She definitely did not cheat nor did she flirt with anyone.

But Mrs. Chen said that He Tingchen caught them in the act, and recalling He Tingchen’s ruthlessness towards her yesterday, she did not doubt the truthfulness of Mrs. Chen’s words.

But if what Mrs. Chen said was true, she felt extremely sleepy all of a sudden yesterday, and then lost consciousness. Could it be that Mu Yunxi had drugged her?

Someone was knocking on the door at this moment.

Fang Anning urgently said, "Mu Yunxi, shut up. Don’t talk as if we are deeply in love. I am not familiar with you. Yesterday’s hot spring was purely to repay your kindness."

After speaking, she urgently turned to explain to He Tingchen, "He Tingchen, listen to my explanation, there really is nothing between us. I admit he likes me, but I have absolutely no feelings for him."

"Really? What if I have someone kill him?" He Tingchen asked coldly.

She guessed that her extreme sleepiness was also abnormal and possibly, Mu Yunxi had drugged the water. Hence, she was unconscious and did not know even when she was brought from the hot spring to He’s house.

"You are as ruthless as her," He Tingchen muttered.

Fang Anning didn’t hear clearly what he said, and frowned, asking, "What did you say?"

Then she hurriedly added, "I really have nothing to do with this guy, you can beat him up, beat him to death, I wouldn’t feel sorry."

He Tingchen closed his eyes then opened them again, his eyes full of coldness.

Fang Anning was so frightened that she stepped back. She bit her lip, her heart pounding.

For some reason, she actually saw a murderous intent in He Tingchen’s eyes.

"Let’s go."

He Tingchen remained silent for a long time and eventually, without ordering them killed, stood up and coldly said one word, leaving the place with his bodyguard.
