How I Became The Devil's Last and Only Love
Chapter 179 - 165: I Am His Mother

Chapter 179: Chapter 165: I Am His Mother

"Is this your girlfriend?"

Ms. Lan Rou, He Tingchen’s mother, came over. Her eyes swept over Fang Anning, but her gaze was filled with contempt, as if she thought very little of Fang Anning.

He Tingchen coldly said, "Not girlfriend."

Ms. Lan Rou slightly curled her lips with satisfaction, "Exactly, this woman is too ordinary, nowhere near worthy of you."

"She’s my wife, the kind with a marriage certificate," He Tingchen added.

Ms. Lan Rou’s face changed instantly, looking shocked at He Tingchen, "You got married?"

Fang Anning smiled slightly and said, "Madam, not only did we get married, but we have also had children."

"Shut up, who are you to match?" Ms. Lan Rou angrily said.

Fang Anning shrugged, "I’m just an ordinary woman. As for whether I’m worthy or not, it’s not up to you to decide, but whether we are satisfied with each other. Honey, who is this? I don’t like her. Let’s go!"

Fang Anning playfully acted coquettish to He Tingchen.

He Tingchen nodded indulgently.

Ms. Lan Rou was outraged and grabbed He Tingchen’s arm, "Tingchen, have you forgotten that I am your mother? You used to depend on me the most."

"Honey, didn’t you say your mother was no longer here? Where did she come from?" Fang Anning pulled away Ms. Lan Rou’s hand.

Ms. Lan Rou looked at He Tingchen shocked, "You said I was gone?"

"Yes, you have been gone for ten years," He Tingchen said.

Ms. Lan Rou looked pale and stunned.

"Let’s go." He Tingchen wrapped his arm around Fang Anning’s waist and walked away.

Ms. Lan Rou wanted to follow, but was stopped by a bodyguard.

Fang Anning and he got into the car, and she asked softly, "Are you okay?"

He Tingchen shook his head and ruffled her hair, "You did great just now. If it wasn’t for you, I might not have been so decisive."

"But she is still your mother, my behavior just now, I wonder if it counts as unfilial. I am now a mother myself, if my child treated me like that in the future, I would be very sad," Fang Anning said with a bitter smile.

"But you wouldn’t use him as a tool," He Tingchen said.

Fang Anning nodded, "When I was first pregnant, I actually had no feelings. But as he grew in my belly, started to move, and interact with me every day. And then he was born, and now he’s so adorable, I think of him every moment. I truly can’t imagine how a woman can be heartless enough to use her own child."

"So, I can’t forgive," He Tingchen murmured.

Fang Anning looked at him, suddenly extending her arms to hug him tightly.

After returning home, they began to pack up to leave this place.

He Tingchen had already booked flight tickets when suddenly he received a phone call from the front desk saying Ms. Lan Rou wanted to see him.

He Tingchen, hearing Lan Rou’s name, frowned slightly.

Fang Anning squeezed his hand and said, "Let me go meet her for you."

He Tingchen nodded.

Ms. Lan Rou was waiting in the lobby café.

But instead of He Tingchen, she ended up seeing Fang Anning.

Seeing Fang Anning approach, Ms. Lan Rou frowned displeasedly, and coldly asked, "Why did you come?"

"He doesn’t want to see you, so he asked me to meet you instead," Fang Anning said.

"Not even willing to see me, he really is a dutiful son," Ms. Lan Rou snorted coldly.

"Whether he is a dutiful son has nothing to do with you now, does it? Didn’t you abandon him ten years ago when you sent him back to the He family?" Fang Anning said.

"What do you know? What good does following me bring him? What could I give him? Nothing. With me, he could only be an ordinary person. But returning to the He family is different; he becomes the sole heir to He Group, able to have everything he desires. For example, if it weren’t for his status, would you have married him?" Ms. Lan Rou sneered.

"Yes, if it weren’t for his status, he and I would never have met, and possibly would never know of each other’s existence in this lifetime. Therefore, I wouldn’t have married him. Everyone could say this, but you alone can’t," Fang Anning calmly said.

"Why not?" Ms. Lan Rou frowned.

"He was originally from the He family and should have been raised there. So why didn’t he grow up in the He family? Isn’t it because of your selfishness? You saw the opportunity to cash in from two sides from the very beginning. Your reason for taking him away wasn’t out of love. Sending him back to the He family wasn’t because of love either; it was all for yourself," Fang Anning said.

"Is this what he told you?" Ms. Lan Rou asked.

"He told me some things, but not so clearly. To him, you represent a past he doesn’t wish to remember. That’s why he doesn’t want to see you. So, why did you come? To congratulate us? Or..."

"Put money into this account. Otherwise, I will publicly reveal that he and his former child are twins," Ms. Lan Rou took out a piece of paper and pushed it across the table.

Fang Anning paused, then scoffed and nodded, "Okay, I understand. I will let him know."

After saying that, she picked up the paper and left.

Fortunately, He Tingchen did not have to come in person.

Otherwise, how heartbroken he would have been to hear these words.

Returning home, He Tingchen looked at her.

Fang Anning did not want to tell him but still took out the paper and relayed Ms. Lan Rou’s message.

"Don’t be too sad," Fang Anning hugged him.

He Tingchen said, "I’m not sad, it’s expected."

Then, holding her hand, he said, "Let’s go."

Fang Anning nodded.

She didn’t know how He Tingchen handled it, whether he transferred the money to Ms. Lan Rou. But thinking they were returning home, she was surprised to land at the United States airport.

"Why are we here again?" Fang Anning asked with surprise.

Looking at her, He Tingchen said, "Since I am marrying you, I naturally need to inform your mother and get her permission, whether she is awake or not. I should tell her myself."

Fang Anning’s eyes instantly teared up.

Touched, she said, "Thank you, I didn’t expect... you’d remember these things, thank you."

"Let’s go see mother," He Tingchen took her hand and led her toward the car to the hospital.

In the hospital, Fang Yi had awakened two months ago and had been undergoing rehabilitation ever since.

Though not very effective yet, she can walk a few steps with assistance.

Seeing Fang Anning coming, Fang Yi was also very happy, looking at her tenderly.

"Mom, this is He Tingchen, my husband, your son-in-law," Fang Anning introduced, holding He Tingchen’s hand as she approached Fang Yi.

Fang Yi watched them smiling, nodded vigorously, and painstakingly said, "Ningning, mom is really happy, to see you happy."
