Chapter 130: Chapter 129: Becoming the Center of Attention_2
Fang Anning said, "But by doing this, you make everyone look at me this way? Didn’t you see how strange everyone’s gazes were towards me? It made my skin crawl."
"It doesn’t matter," Mrs. Chen said.
"It may not matter to you, but it does to me. No, you need to leave right now. Just walk around the school, and I’ll call you when I’m done. Don’t come back until I call you," Fang Anning seriously stated.
Normally, Fang Anning is very easy-going and friendly.
But those who know her well understand that although she appears easy-going and approachable, she can be truly intimidating when she gets seriously angry.
Even He Tingchen can’t handle her, not to mention Mrs. Chen.
Feeling threatened by her, Mrs. Chen nodded awkwardly and agreed to take a walk around the school.
After Mrs. Chen left, Fang Anning finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Qi Yaya hurried over and said, "Mr. He really cares about you."
"Pretty much," Fang Anning said proudly.
Qi Yaya smiled and said, "Seeing how proud you look, it seems you really like him too. It’s wonderful, I’m so envious of you both, having mutual feelings."
"You’ve never even confessed to Bai Yunyang, how do you know he doesn’t like you?" Fang Anning asked.
Qi Yaya sighed and said, "Every time I see him, he doesn’t even look me in the eye, how could he possibly like me?"
"That’s not necessarily true," Fang Anning said, "Some men are just taciturn and aloof. They might really like someone but pretend to disdain her. I think Bai Yunyang is exactly that type of person."
"Really?" Qi Yaya said, her eyes widening in surprise.
Suddenly, Fang Anning thought of something and frowned slightly, "But at Bai Yunyang’s age, hasn’t he had any girlfriends before?"
Furrowing her brows, Qi Yaya said, "Girlfriend? I’ve heard about one."
"Really? Who was she?" Fang Anning asked quickly.
Qi Yaya said, "I’m young and don’t know much. I heard he once had a childhood sweetheart, not from any prestigious family but a daughter of a servant. But then there was no more news. Oh, I heard he even had a conflict for her..."
"What conflict?" Fang Anning asked eagerly when Qi Yaya stopped mid-sentence.
Blushing and shaking her head, Qi Yaya said, "Nothing."
At that moment, the next proctor walked in and all the students rushed back to their positions.
Qi Yaya hurried off.
However, Fang Anning’s brow furrowed slightly, guessing that Qi Yaya must know something, and that it likely involved He Tingchen.
But she didn’t want to speak about it in front of her.
After three consecutive exams that morning, everyone was exhausted and then discussed where to go for lunch to treat themselves.
Mrs. Chen should have known the exams were over.
She called, sounding distressed, "Wife, I’m lost in the school. I’m near a sign that says ’Peaceful, and Far-reaching’, which way should I go to get back to you?"
"You are there? Then walk to the left and keep walking, you’ll find your way back," Fang Anning told her.
"Okay, I’ll be right there, you wait for me," Mrs. Chen said.
Fang Anning hung up the phone with a laugh and shouted to Qi Yaya, "Yaya, let’s have lunch together!"
She had intentionally told Mrs. Chen the wrong direction; by the time Mrs. Chen figured it out, she would already have finished lunch with Qi Yaya.
"Ah, eating together?" Qi Yaya was surprised.
Qi Yaya was always popular, and several girls were surrounding her, planning to invite her to lunch.
Smiling, Fang Anning said, "Wow, so many people inviting you to lunch, Yaya, you really have a lot of friends."
Yaya had already told them, "Today, I’m treating everyone to lunch, would you like to join too?" one of the girls asked Fang Anning with arrogance.
Raising an eyebrow, Fang Anning realized they weren’t just inviting her to lunch; they wanted to mooch off Qi Yaya.
No wonder Qi Yaya was so popular; everyone was inviting her because they wanted to take advantage of her.
Reminding herself of the time Qi Yaya walked around with a notebook looking for celebrities to sign contracts.
Though she was rich like a young lady, she acted like a little maid, presumably because these people were exploiting her maliciously.
"Yes, I’d like to join for lunch, Yaya, you wouldn’t mind, would you!" Fang Anning suddenly smiled, admitting openly.
Qi Yaya shook her head, "Of course not, it’s nice to have everyone together, the more the merrier."
"Then let’s hurry, otherwise we won’t get seats at ’Private Kitchen’. Even though I made a reservation ahead of time, it’s not good to go too late," another girl said.
Nodding, Qi Yaya agreed.
The group arrived at ’Private Kitchen.’
This restaurant, located near the school entrance, is quite upscale and expensive, catering to rich students.
That girl had reserved a large private room; with about a dozen people, it was quite packed.
There were originally twelve seats reserved; now with Fang Anning added, they had to squeeze in an extra, making it a bit crowded.
One of the girls complained, "Really, not close with us, and she just forces her way in, totally shameless."
"We are all eating together, what’s there to be shameless about? Aren’t you also here eating?" Fang Anning said with a smile.
"That’s different, we are friends with Yaya, it’s only right for Yaya to treat us to lunch. Who are you? We don’t even know you, yet you still want to take advantage." the woman shouted.
Qi Yaya quickly intervened, "Don’t argue, we are all friends, let’s not ruin the harmony."
"Yes, let’s order the food! Let’s order generously," Fang Anning said with a smile.
Her words were quite pleasant to hear, and it brightened up the mood of others as they started to order from the menu.
They ordered lavish dishes that they typically wouldn’t splurge on.
