Chapter 101: The Foodie Meets Her Crush
Chapter 101: Chapter 101: The Foodie Meets Her Crush
He Min’s face turned green with anger upon hearing Zhao Yuanyuan’s words.
Fang Anning could get away with not following the rules in front of her, but now, she was even embarrassing herself in public.
When had anyone ever mocked the He family’s rules and etiquette like this?
"He Min, I’m not being nosy, but you really need to take control of your niece-in-law. I see Mr. He is also quite doting on her, which makes her even more arrogant. But as young people lack moderation, you as her aunt cannot sit by idly. You’re her elder," Zhao Yuanyuan added.
He Min felt a pain in her chest from the anger.
She quickly assured Zhao Yuanyuan, "Don’t worry, I will take care of her."
Zhao Yuanyuan smiled, quickly comforted her, and then chatted about other things.
However, He Min remained distracted, frowning heavily, seemingly unable to get over the incident with Fang Anning.
Meanwhile, Fang Anning was totally unaware that Zhao Yuanyuan would snitch on her.
She followed He Tingchen around, exchanging pleasantries with those who came up to greet them.
Because she didn’t recognize anyone, although He Tingchen introduced her, all she could do was smile and say hello.
In less than half an hour, her face ached from all the smiling.
And most importantly, she was hungry.
Now the morning sickness was much better, aside from feeling uncomfortable when brushing her teeth in the morning and evening, she was fine most of the time.
But she got hungry easily.
She even wondered if she was carrying a glutton in her womb, she was that hungry.
"Hungry?"
He Tingchen, while chatting with others, actually noticed her and leaned slightly to whisper the question.
Fang Anning nodded and said with an embarrassed smile, "A little."
"There is food over there, help yourself," He Tingchen said.
Fang Anning quickly asked, "Can I leave?"
Wasn’t she supposed to accompany him? Wasn’t he going with her?
"I’m not hungry," the man replied.
"Oh, then I’m off," said Fang Anning, standing up quickly and heading towards the buffet.
At such a large cocktail party, there was naturally no shortage of food.
The area was filled with delicacies.
However, there were few people lingering there, after all, most people were at the party for business purposes—who would miss big opportunities for the sake of indulgence?
"Qi Yaya?"
Fang Anning took a piece of small cake on her plate and ate it first so her stomach wouldn’t feel so empty. Then, she wandered around with her plate, looking for something tastier.
Next, she saw a white porcelain plate with several crystal mochi balls, garnished with red threads, looking very delicious and tempting.
Just as she was about to use the tongs to grab a mochi ball, another pair of tongs collided with hers.
Was there someone else who also loved this?
Fang Anning looked up, only to see a familiar face.
Qi Yaya also looked up and saw her, exclaimed with both shock and delight, "Fang Anning? Why is it you?"
Fang Anning smiled and said, "I was about to ask you the same, what are you doing here?"
Qi Yaya replied, "I came with my aunt, what about you?"
"I... came with my husband."
"Ah, you got married?" Qi Yaya was surprised.
Fang Anning nodded with a light laugh.
Qi Yaya wasn’t too surprised; the last time Anning had come to take an exam with a nanny and bodyguards in tow, it was clear she wasn’t an ordinary person.
Qi Yaya had some understanding of Fang Anning’s family situation; if it had been good, Anning wouldn’t have suddenly dropped out of school. The most likely reason was that she got married to a wealthy man, so she began to live a life with nannies.
"Do you like these?" Qi Yaya pointed at the mochi balls and asked.
Anning nodded.
Yaya smiled and said, "I like these too."
She picked one up for herself and one for Anning.
The two of them stood there and ate the glutinous rice dumplings, commenting while eating.
"Do you like that? That’s really good too," Yaya went on, taking Anning to look at the honey-roasted goose, pointing at it as she spoke.
Anning shook her head: "Isn’t it too sweet?"
"Not at all, not at all. It looks sweet, but it’s actually not sweet at all. It’s quite tasty." Yaya strongly recommended it.
Seeing how eagerly Yaya recommended it, Anning agreed to try a piece.
Yaya hurriedly picked one up for her, and took another for herself. They stood in place, gnawing on their pieces.
However, in the midst of their happy munching, a handsome man in a white suit suddenly appeared.
The man saw them and gave them a slight smile.
Anning wasn’t affected; having seen He Tingchen’s face, she was immune to handsome men.
But she felt this man looked somewhat familiar, as if she had seen him somewhere before.
Yaya, on the other hand, had a different reaction.
Her mouth was wide open as she was gnawing on the roasted goose. Suddenly, she saw the man looking at her and even smiled. She instantly swallowed a piece of bone and started coughing uncontrollably.
Oh no, this was even more embarrassing.
Yaya quickly lowered her head, wishing she could just vanish into thin air.
But the bone was still stuck in her throat, and she could neither swallow it nor spit it out without embarrassment; she was in utter distress.
"Cough cough cough."
"What’s wrong? Is something stuck?" Anning saw her reaction and quickly patted her back.
Yaya’s face was scrunched up, and she quickly bent over, grabbing Anning as they ran all the way to the restroom.
Anning, panting from being dragged, couldn’t help but hold her stomach, and after reaching the restroom, she complained: "What’s the rush? Couldn’t you have gone slower? You’ve worn me out dragging me like that."
"Cough cough cough."
Yaya began to cough violently.
Anning saw that she was indeed choking.
Choking on food like this could be life-threatening, so she quickly patted Yaya’s back firmly.
She thought, if it really came to it, they would have to call 120 to take her to the hospital.
"Ugh."
Yaya gagged and finally managed to spit out the bone.
Anning looked at the bone in the sink and couldn’t help but shake her head and sigh: "Yaya, you really are lucky. Such a big bone nearly choked you to death."
"I would rather have died from choking," Yaya said, her face dismal.
"Why? Was the roasted goose not tasty, or was it the glutinous rice dumplings?" Anning asked in surprise.
Yaya lifted her head, her eyes brimming with tears: "The embarrassing way I looked just now was seen by Bai Yunyang. I might as well be dead."
"Who is Bai Yunyang?" Anning asked, puzzled.
Suddenly, a thought flashed through her mind.
No wonder he looked so familiar. Was it him?
The guy who gave her two necklaces last time?
"You don’t know Bai Yunyang?" Yaya asked, surprised.
Anning said, "I remember now, he’s like the young master of Bai Group, with a sister who’s quite beautiful but not too bright."
"So, you like him?" Anning asked with a smile.
Yaya blushed and said, "Bai Yunyang is so outstanding, who wouldn’t like him."
"It’s useless for you to like him. You think you can marry Bai Yunyang with your situation? Dream on!"
At that moment, the door of the adjacent cubicle was pushed open, and out came a pretty girl who looked disdainfully at Yaya and spoke sarcastically.
