Chapter 225: Are You Kidding

Chapter 225- Are You Kidding

LOGAN’S POV

"What does it look like I’m doing?" I asked him, one eyebrow raised, staring straight into his judging eyes.

Tyler’s face twisted with that same expression he always wears around me—like I’m a virus he caught by accident.

"Are you that shameless? Can’t you fix yourself properly without shoving your annoying ass in my face?" he snapped.

I smirked.

There he goes again. Like seeing my back was a crime punishable by death.

"You see, Tyler..." I drawled slowly, not even bothering to hide the mockery in my voice. "When you’re done complaining about me getting naked to take a bath like a normal human being, let me know. I’ll be right here. Still naked. Still unbothered."

He opened his mouth like he wanted to argue again, but I beat him to it.

"Honestly, what do you expect? That I enter the bathroom in full clothes and somehow take a bath with them still on? Should I wear a suit in there too?" I asked, tilting my head with fake innocence.

He rolled his eyes. "You’re a jerk."

I didn’t reply. Not because I had nothing to say—but because I knew silence would piss him off even more.

And that, right there? That was exactly what I wanted.

I walked into the bathroom, and locked the door behind me. Then I turned on the shower and stepped in, letting the cold water hit me like a blessing.

God.

Finally, peace.

The water ran down my skin, and for the first time in hours, I could breathe properly. Everything—the bus ride, the shouting, the stupid accusations washed down the drain. Cold water does that to me. Not warm. Not hot. Cold. It shocks your skin, wakes your brain, and calms the fire burning in your chest.

I leaned against the wall, eyes closed, arms hanging loosely at my sides as the water fell over me.

This?

This was freedom.

I must have stood there for like thirty minutes, maybe even more. Just breathing. Thinking about nothing. Letting myself forget everything bothering me.

And then, like the demon he is, he ruined it.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

"Are you giving birth in there?!" he yelled through the door like a man possessed. "What the hell are you doing that you’re still inside? Get out and let others use the bathroom!"

I opened my eyes slowly, sighed, and rolled them.

"Yes, Tyler," I shouted back. "I’m giving birth in here. Triplets, in fact."

Silence. I could imagine the look on his face and it gave me deep satisfaction.

"And point of correction," I added. "There is no ’others.’ You and I are the only ones in this room. So yeah—I’ll bathe as long as I want. You’re not going to stop me."

He huffed like an angry goat.

"If you’re so desperate to pee or whatever, you can go outside and borrow a friend’s bathroom," I said sweetly.

Then I paused and grinned to myself. "Oh wait—I forgot. You don’t have friends. You’ve chased all of them away with that disgusting attitude of yours."

That one definitely hit.

"Go fuck yourself!" he shouted back, full of rage.

I let out a low, wicked laugh. The kind that made people want to throw things at me.

"You wish," I said.

God, this was fun.

I leaned back against the cold tiles, enjoying the way I could push all his buttons with just a few words. He was always so easy to mess with. So reactive. Like a time bomb waiting for the smallest spark.

"Anyway," I called out, calmer now, "you’ve got two options. Either wait for me to finish or go do what I told you to do. Up to you."

After that, I tuned him out completely. Closed my eyes again, tried to return to the peaceful place I had found earlier.

But it wasn’t the same anymore.

His voice had already seeped into my head like poison, and suddenly, the water didn’t feel so calming anymore. It just felt cold.

And annoying.

I sighed loudly and turned off the shower, frustrated that I let him ruin this too.

I grabbed my towel, wrapped it tightly around my waist, and stepped out, dripping water all over the floor.

He was still sitting on his bed, acting like he wasn’t waiting the whole time to throw another insult.

I started drying off, ignoring him, heading toward my bag to get clothes.

"I thought you wanted to sleep in there," he said with a mocking smile. "What happened? Water break early?"

I didn’t even look at him. "Didn’t feel like it anymore," I said flatly, pulling out my shirt.

I could still feel his eyes on me, burning holes into my skin. Judging. Watching. Staring.

I turned slightly, not even hiding the irritation in my voice.

"Quit staring, would you?"

"And who told you I was staring?" he shot back quickly, but the way he stammered made it worse.

I turned to face him with a slow, knowing smirk. "Your stammer gave you away, sweetheart. So if you don’t mind, take your dirty little eyes off my back before I start charging you per second."

He scoffed like he wasn’t caught red-handed, but his face said it all.

I rolled my eyes dramatically and finally found a shirt I could tolerate wearing. Nothing fancy, just something comfortable. I grabbed it, then let the towel drop from my waist without warning, not even sparing him a glance as I slipped the shirt over my head and stepped into my shorts.

That’s when I heard him complain again, in that voice of his that always sounds like he’s being forced to live in the same airspace as me.

"Why are you always getting naked everywhere?" Tyler asked, clearly annoyed—and something else he was trying to hide. "First it was your ass, now it’s your d—your... ugh. Can you just stop already? It’s getting me confused and pissed off."

I turned around slowly, biting back a laugh. Oh, Tyler.

"I can assure you," I said calmly, "that if you stopped paying attention to my every move—especially the parts where I’m naked—you wouldn’t be this worked up."

I walked closer, just enough for him to see the sarcasm in my eyes. "So maybe the problem isn’t me, Tyler. Maybe the problem is you. Your eyes are the real issue."

I gave him a smile—empty, sharp, mocking. It didn’t reach my heart.

"You’re a jerk," he muttered and stormed into the bathroom like a grumpy old man.

"You already said that, Tyler!" I called out, raising my voice just enough to carry over the sound of running water. "Come up with something new! Be creative, love!"

He didn’t answer. Good. I didn’t need a reply. I needed space.

But of course, my mind didn’t give me either.

I found myself thinking about that day. That one freaking day he barged into my house without knocking. Like it was his house. Like he had the right to walk in.

He found out about me and Lucian. That I dated him. And Naomi knew too. That I kept secrets.

Secrets I wasn’t ready to share.

I flopped down on the bed, letting my head fall back onto the pillow, and that’s when I heard it.

Growl.

No, not a dog. My stomach.

"Great," I mumbled. "Now I’m starving."

I hadn’t eaten all day. Not because I was dieting or trying to look hot—though, let’s be honest, I already do—but because the entire day had been a rush. From getting ready for this stupid trip to dealing with Tyler’s endless drama, I hadn’t had a second to breathe, let alone eat.

I grabbed my phone and checked the time. 6:03 PM.

Dinner time.

I sat up, stretched, and was just about to drag myself out of bed when something clicked in my head.

Wait.

Why am I stressing?

Why should I go get food myself when I have slaves?

Okay, maybe not officially. But still.

There’s Naomi. And there’s Tyler. Two perfectly annoying people who can be useful for once.

I was going to text Naomi but then remembered—I didn’t have her number. We weren’t exactly "good morning" type of friends. So that left me with one option.

Tyler.

Lucky for me, he wouldn’t want to stay in the bathroom forever. He was probably hungry too, which meant he’d come out soon. And right on cue...

The bathroom door opened.

There he was, stepping out, dripping wet from head to toe. Water running down his chest, hair sticking to his forehead.

And... goddamn.

I hate that he looks like that.

He had already put on clothes inside the bathroom. Typical Tyler. Mr. Modesty. Mr. Rules. He probably wanted me to do the same earlier, but sorry babe, I’m not changing my ways for you.

I cleared my throat quickly, pushing down the heat that rushed up my neck. I wasn’t going to let him see the way I was looking at him just now.

"I hope you’re done dressing," I said casually, crossing my arms. "Because you need to go get me my food."

His head turned sharply, and the look he gave me? Pure disbelief.

Like I had just asked him to sacrifice his kidneys.

"It seems you hit your head on the floor when you were a baby," he snapped. "Why the hell would I go get you food?"
