Chapter 63: A Union Blessed by Love
"I think it works. Kaelion Chernobog Jörbahamut," Ignatius said.
"I agree," the Queen added, while the King also nodded his head approvingly.
Shen Xinghui felt reassured and began to play gently with the warm little one in his arms.
"Your name is Kaelion now," he said softly
Whether or not the baby understood, Kaelion let out a joyful sound and laughing happily in Shen Xinghui’s arms.
...
A month had passed since Kaelion’s birth.
Shen Xinghui was in the royal capital on this day, standing before a gathering of countless well-wishers.
The white tuxedo tailored specifically for his frame was still slightly oversized, requiring the resizing spell to come to the rescue.
The outfit was stunning—gleaming white with light purple lining and silver embroidery—but almost excessively luxurious.
In contrast, Ignatius’s attire was black, the traditional garb of royalty.
His long black robe, adorned with gold thread embroidery, perfectly complemented his tall frame, making him look so regal that Shen Xinghui couldn’t help but stare in admiration.
Among the guests attending the celebration were Dominus, Giovanni, Augustine, and Gabriel, all of whom extended their congratulations once more.
Shortly after Kaelion’s birth, this group had gathered to offer their blessings and shower Kaelion with affection.
They even bestowed various magical "blessings," reminiscent of the fairy godmothers in the tale of Sleeping Beauty.
Not curses—blessings!
Dominus wished for Kaelion to "grow up healthy and strong," Giovanni for him to "be wise and gentle-natured," Augustine for him to "be loved by all," and Gabriel for him to "always have light guiding his path."
Shen Xinghui had been deeply moved by their heartfelt words.
Kaelion was growing steadily, just as everyone had wished.
Augustine’s wife had even become a close friend of Shen Xinghui’s, bonding over their shared role as mothers.
He was a beautiful Fox Beast Man with silver fur, and their child, a Dragon Man with silver hair, had become a playful companion to Kaelion.
"I guess I’m the older brother," said Augustine Jr., who was two years old.
The sight was so endearing that both Shen Xinghui and Ignatius couldn’t help but laugh.
The decision was made to hold the wedding in the royal capital.
Bringing Kaelion along, Shen Xinghui’s first visit was to see Jenna and Henry.
Naturally, Ignatius and Kaelion accompanied him.
Jenna and Henry were overjoyed, shedding tears of happiness as they blessed the union and doted on Kaelion.
In that moment, Shen Xinghui reaffirmed that these two were truly his family in this world.
On the church’s red carpet, it was Henry who escorted Shen Xinghui to the altar.
While Henry initially hesitated, Shen Xinghui had insisted.
Taking each step deliberately, Shen Xinghui advanced toward the altar, surrounded by the warm gazes of the many who celebrated and blessed him.
Each step was heavy with meaning, a reflection of the journey that had brought him to this point.
At first, Shen Xinghui had thought, Why has such misfortune befallen me?
Stranded in an unfamiliar forest, attacked by bizarre plants—it had all seemed like a cruel twist of fate.
But those feelings soon faded.
Ignatius had been there, guiding him through this new world with kindness and protecting him every step of the way.
Looking back, Shen Xinghui realized he had likely fallen for Ignatius from the very start, though he hadn’t recognized it then.
It was his first experience with such feelings, and he hadn’t understood them.
Otherwise, he might have rejected the idea outright, even under the influence of the potion that had heightened his vulnerability.
In that moment of crisis, his thoughts had been solely focused on Ignatius saving him.
That was why Shen Xinghui had been so distraught over his seemingly useless ability.
The only talent he had, "God of Pregnancy and Fertility’s Blessing," felt pitiful to him.
He understood, of course, that it was precisely what Ignatius needed most, but he couldn’t bring himself to admit it.
He had felt ashamed and frustrated, blaming himself for Ignatius’s injuries and his own perceived inadequacies.
Desperate to prove his worth, he had pressed forward impulsively, only to fail and retreat in embarrassment.
Looking back now, Shen Xinghui thought, I was such a mess back then.
Thanks to everything that had happened, Shen Xinghui had met people in this world who felt like parents to him.
The month he spent with them was a treasure.
Having never experienced parental love, he found a family here with strangers, and that gave him a kind of courage he had never known.
After connecting with Ignatius, his feelings for him grew so strong that he wanted to have his child without hesitation—and that wish came true.
It had been chaotic and, honestly, exhausting.
The pain was something Shen Xinghui would rather avoid for a while.
When he confessed as much, Ignatius widened his eyes in surprise before smiling gently and saying, "Of course."
"My husband’s such a good man," Shen Xinghui thought.
His milk had dried up after a month, and apparently, that meant he could have another child.
"I’m not some child-producing machine," he thought wryly.
However, Ignatius understood his feelings and had been by his side during the ordeal, witnessing Shen Xinghui’s suffering firsthand.
Ignatius had even gone so far as to say, "If it’s that painful, then we only need one child."
It was an incredibly kind gesture.
Even so, Shen Xinghui felt that once Kaelion was a little older, having one or two more children might not be so bad.
His own childhood had been lonely, and he’d always admired big families.
Besides, the staff at the estate—maids and the elderly caretaker—were all willing to help him to look after Kaelion, so Shen Xinghui didn’t feel overly burdened.
Whatever the future held, one thing was clear: he was happy now.
Standing beside Ignatius at the altar, Shen Xinghui placed his hand over Ignatius’s as Henry handed him off.
Before the altar in the church, Shen Xinghui looked up to meet Ignatius’s soft, reassuring smile, and his heart settled.
