"Dominus, don’t go running toward a pregnant person."

"What’s your deal, Giovanni?"

"It’s dangerous! If you running toward him recklessly and he falls, he and the baby could be in serious trouble!"

The person called Giovanni had a long light-blue hair and striking sapphire-like eyes.

He spoke with a calm yet firm tone.

Realizing his mistake, Dominus adjusted his posture and apologized sheepishly.

Shen Xinghui approached them slowly and stopping just in front of the pair.

"Nice to meet you, Shen Xinghui. I’m Giovanni Azureis Aetherion of the Azure Dragon Family. I’ve been close to Ignatius since childhood. Congratulations on both your marriage and your pregnancy."

"Thank you for your kind words. I’m Shen Xinghui. Please continue to look after us."

Giovanni was very polite, while Dominus seemed fidgety and restless beside him.

"Dominus, is something on your mind?"

"Well, yeah. I mean, I heard you’re carrying Ignatius’ child. That makes me so happy!"

"Happy?"

"Of course! Ignatius has always been searching for a way to have a child, and he loves you so much. Even though love is enough, not being able to have children can feel isolating. But now, you’re together and expecting a baby. It’s amazing!"

Dominus’s pure-hearted excitement made Shen Xinghui smile.

Overwhelmed by emotion, he hugged Dominus tightly, though his growing belly made it slightly awkward.

"I’m so happy too. Thank you, Dominus, for celebrating with me, even though I’ve caused so much worry."

"Of course! Xinghui, you’re a great person, and Ignatius looks so happy. There’s nothing to worry about!"

"You’re a great friend, Dominus!"

Shen Xinghui laughed, feeling truly lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful people.

"Well, well, what a lively group we have here," a gentle voice suddenly interrupted them.

Shen Xinghui looked up to see another figure approaching alongside Ignatius.

This person seemed about the same age as Ignatius, with short green hair and soft green eyes exuding a tranquil aura.

"Nice to meet you, you’re Xinghui, right? My name is Augustine Verdanith Sylvanara. I’m from the Green Dragon Family and an old friend of Ignatius."

"Nice to meet you, I’m Shen Xinghui," he replied politely.

"Ah, how cute. Ignatius is so lucky to have someone as adorable and sincere as you," Augustine remarked with a warm smile.

Although Augustine’s gaze remained kind, there was something distinct about the air around him that made Shen Xinghui feel a little uneasy.

Reflexively, he shrank back slightly, but when he realized what he have done he scolding himself inwardly for being rude to a stranger.

"Augustine."

"Oh, no need to scold me, Ignatius. I assure you, I’m not so wicked as to meddle with someone else’s spouse. Besides, if I tried, my dear wife would certainly scold me," Augustine said teasingly.

"Your wife?"

Shen Xinghui blinked his eyes in surprise, realizing Augustine was married.

He focused on that detail, consciously avoiding any implications in the conversation he didn’t want to dwell on.

Augustine nodded with a smile. "I have a two-year-old son. Once your baby is born, I’ll bring my family along to celebrate. Incidentally, my spouse is also male, like you. Perhaps the two of you could share advice or discuss your experiences."

"Your spouse is a man? Oh, thank you so much! I’d love to meet him!"

The excitement in Shen Xinghui’s voice was evident.

Having someone to answer his questions about raising a child as a man was incredibly reassuring.

Augustine smiled warmly and said, "Understood."

Thus, an impromptu tea party was arranged.

A table was set up in the garden, and Shen Xinghui rested on a soft reclining chair that had been prepared for him.

His belly had grown even larger, though he had been told it would continue to grow until just before delivery, when it would become fully round.

For now, it wasn’t quite there yet.

"Still, it feels so strange," Dominus said while looking at Shen Xinghui. "The Xinghui I know is completely different now."

"Dominus, when people are expecting a child, they naturally take on a nurturing, maternal expression," Augustine replied.

"You don’t look like you would," Dominus shot back.

"Oh? Is that so?" Augustine responded with amusement.

The lighthearted banter between the two carried on, and Shen Xinghui couldn’t help but think that Augustine had quite the unique personality.

"I’ve heard that Xinghui’s condition is stable. They say the baby will arrive in just a few days," Giovanni remarked calmly.

"Ah, yes. Um... three days," Shen Xinghui answered, feeling a quiet tension within himself.

He tried not to dwell on it, as he doubted he could fully prepare for the moment until it arrived.

"Three days, is it? While everyone around you is likely excited, I imagine the one most anxious is you," Giovanni said, his tone steady and kind.

Shen Xinghui smiled softly, appreciating Giovanni’s understanding nature.

He glanced at Ignatius, who returned his gaze with a reassuring nod.

"My, Ignatius is showing a father’s face now," Augustine teased.

"You haven’t changed even a little bit," Ignatius retorted.

"I am a father, you know. Even my spouse says I haven’t changed."

"He probably don’t like you much," Ignatius quipped.

"I prefer to think of it as love disguised as frustration," Augustine said with a sly grin. "But honestly, someone who abducts his spouse and relentlessly pursues him until he have a child isn’t one to talk."

"!"

Shen Xinghui’s ears caught something shocking.

What was that?!

He couldn’t help but stare at Augustine, who met his gaze with a mischievous smile.

"Every night, I whisper ’I love you’ by his bedside. It’s fine, truly. If he truly rejected me, he wouldn’t have given birth to my child. Deep down, he really care for me," Augustine declared confidently.

Is that really okay?

Shen Xinghui wondered silently.

Before he could process further, Dominus leaned in and whispered conspiratorially.

"It’s pretty amazing. He confessed his feelings as soon as they met, got rejected a ton, and then abducted him, kept him half-confined, and kept pursuing him until he gave in. And now, they’ve had a child together. Augustine’s intense, but he’s also super cool—he’s still leading the military, too."
