Chapter 50: Bound by Love

However, Ignatius shook his head and smiled reassuringly. "No, it’s not defective. The intensity of the color represents the depth of love and the strength of the bond. The richer the color, the stronger the child that will be conceived."

"Oh, then it’s a good thing!" Shen Xinghui said, exhaling in relief.

Shen Xinghui then picked up the pill and placed it in his mouth.

It wasn’t too large, so swallowing it wasn’t difficult.

Without hesitation, he gulped it down.

He wondered if he would feel any changes.

Come to think of it, Ignatius hadn’t explained much about the process.

And now that he thought about it, wasn’t it a little scary?

This pill could make a male body capable of pregnancy.

Would it hurt?

Would there be strange side effects?

His heart raced as he contemplated the possibilities.

Gradually, though, he became aware of a warmth spreading through his lower abdomen.

It wasn’t an unpleasant heat—intense, but comforting, almost like a gentle glow from within.

He could feel subtle changes taking place in his body.

Soon, a circular black mark resembling intertwined vines appeared around his navel.

"That was quick," Ignatius observed.

"What is it?" Shen Xinghui asked, startled.

"It’s a sign that the birth pill has fully integrated into your body. You’re ready now—prepared to conceive a child," Ignatius explained.

Wait, so this mark meant he was ready to conceive a child?

Like, whenever you’re ready ready?

The thought made Shen Xinghui’s face flushed red with embarrassment.

Lost in his thoughts, Shen Xinghui didn’t notice Ignatius gently guiding him to lie down on the bed.

The soft weight of the blankets and Ignatius above him filled him with a sense of security.

Shen Xinghui’s gaze lingered on Ignatius.

He really is handsome, he thought, admiring the sharp lines of Ignatius’s face, the way his short black hair framed his features, and the depth of his dark eyes.

Even the faint sheen in Ignatius’s gaze carried an alluring intensity.

His body was lean and strong, his hands and legs long and elegant.

Shen Xinghui traced his fingers over the mark on his navel absentmindedly.

He thought to himself: If we’re going to have a child, it better take after him.

If it looks like me, it’ll be short and scrawny, and people in this world already treat me like a kid!

"Does it hurt?" Ignatius asked, his voice gentle.

"Hm? Oh, no," Shen Xinghui replied, shaking his head. "I was just making a wish."

"A wish?"

"Yeah. I was wishing that the child takes after you. If it ends up looking like me, it’ll be short!"

Ignatius chuckled softly, his expression warm and affectionate.

When Shen Xinghui said it, Ignatius’s expression turned adorably conflicted.

Wait, why does he look like that?

I’m not trying to charm anyone here! Shen Xinghui thought.

"It’s hard when you say such cute things," Ignatius said with a sigh.

"Cute?" Shen Xinghui asked, confused.

"I think a child who looks like you would be adorable. If we have a daughter, I’d want her to take after you."

"Take after me?"

"Yes. But then again..." Ignatius paused, a faint smirk on his lips. "I wouldn’t be able to let her marry anyone."

"How far into the future are you worrying right now?" Shen Xinghui exclaimed, exasperated.

They hadn’t even started trying, and Ignatius was already acting like an overprotective father who are giving his daughter away.

Oh no, is he going to turn into one of those doting dads who gets told, "Dad, you’re so annoying"? Shen Xinghui wondered.

Still, the thought amused him.

He could already picture Ignatius sulking after being scolded by their hypothetical child.

Leaning in, Shen Xinghui gave Ignatius a quick kiss on the cheek.

The affectionate gesture sent a strange warmth curling through his body, almost like a twinge deep inside.

It was a peculiar, tightening sensation.

Was that normal?

"Well then," Shen Xinghui began with a smile, "let’s focus on making a happy family first. I’ve always dreamed of having a loving family. I don’t mind having lots of kids."

"Xinghui..." Ignatius said softly, his gaze tender.

"But," Shen Xinghui added firmly, "only if we can raise them with love. If we can’t give them enough care and affection, then I don’t want a lot of children. Love is non-negotiable."

Shen Xinghui’s voice grew quieter as he spoke.

His own parents had abandoned him, and while the people who raised him afterward were wonderful and became his irreplaceable family, that early wound had never fully healed.

Even as a child, he had asked himself, Why keep me at all if you’re not going to love me?

Ignatius nodded his head solemnly, understanding the weight of Shen Xinghui’s words.

He smiled gently before leaning in and giving Shen Xinghui a sweet, tender kiss.

The sensation of Ignatius’s lips brushing against his skin sent a shiver down Shen Xinghui’s spine, an unfamiliar tingle that made his back straighten involuntarily.

Is this... normal? he wondered, feeling both electrified and unsure.

"Xinghui, try to relax a little more," Ignatius murmured, his warm breath brushing against Shen Xinghui’s ear.

Relax?

With him this close?

Impossible!

Shen Xinghui thought, his mind a whirlwind of emotions.

A soft chuckle escaped Ignatius’s lips.

Shen Xinghui felt entirely out of control of his own body.

Ignatius’s hands traced his body with careful precision, as if memorizing every curve, while his lips explored gently, testing for Shen Xinghui’s reactions.

He was utterly overwhelmed by the sensations—gentle but utterly consuming.

And why wouldn’t he be?

Shen Xinghui was a complete novice at this.

He had spent over twenty years as a virgin, with only the faintest brush of intimacy from Ignatius before now.

That had been his first and only experience, a small glimpse of what was now unfolding.

Compared to Ignatius, Shen Xinghui was utterly defenseless.

And those sounds—soft, breathy sighs and murmurs—where were those even coming from?

What’s with all the "Hnn" and "Ahh" noises?

Are those really coming from me?
