Chapter 414: Chapter 414: Didn’t Do Much

"Carson, can you help me pick up my car from the 4S repair shop tonight? I’ve got a date with a beauty tonight, no time to go myself."

Henry was sitting on a chair waiting for the barber to start cutting his hair.

Carson walked alongside Dale Land with his arm slung around her shoulder, replying to Henry, "Sure, send me the address. Which beauty are you meeting?"

Henry’s private life was always colorful.

"It’s Eleanor Thompson," Henry said.

Carson had been schemed against by Eleanor before. Recently, he was too busy with wedding preparations to confront her.

When he heard Henry was meeting with Eleanor, he advised, "I suggest you stay away from her. That woman harbors resentment toward both me and Little Dale. Her intentions in approaching you might not be pure."

Henry froze for a moment, "Huh? Could it be love turning into hate? Didn’t she say she had already given up on you?"

Carson was speechless, "What love turning into hate? What nonsense are you spouting? Anyway, steer clear of her. That woman is vicious."

Henry frowned slightly at Carson’s advice, "Carson, I know there might be bad blood between you two, but Eleanor’s been pretty nice to me. She probably wouldn’t target me, right? I mean, we’ve... slept together."

"..."

For a moment, Carson didn’t know what to say, so he simply replied, "That woman’s trouble. You ought to be careful."

Henry laughed lightly, "Alright, I’ll avoid her next time. I need to get my haircut now, let’s hang up. I’ll send you the 4S shop address in a bit."

Carson didn’t say much more. He simply nodded, "Alright, be careful."

He hung up the phone, his brow furrowed.

Dale Land sipped her drink, "What’s wrong with Henry?"

Carson glanced at Dale Land, "He’s gotten too close to Eleanor. I’ve always felt Henry should keep his distance from her."

Dale Land’s brows knit together slightly. She nodded in agreement, "You know what Henry’s personality is like. Remind him again next time. If something serious happens, it’ll be a problem."

Carson nodded, "Yeah, I’ll remind him next time. Little Dale, I’m thirsty."

His gaze landed on the milk tea in her hands, making his intentions clear without saying anything.

Dale Land looked down at her drink, raising her eyebrow, "I’ve already drunk from this."

Carson chuckled, "That doesn’t bother me. Do you mind sharing with me?"

Dale Land nodded, "Alright, you can have a few sips. I’m very generous."

Carson noticed her ears turning red. He suppressed his laughter.

Henry woke up and rubbed his temples.

"Awake?" Eleanor Thompson, fully dressed, sat elegantly on the sofa.

Henry sat up on the bed, his voice raspy, "You’re up early."

Eleanor curled her crimson lips, "I couldn’t sleep. By the way, do you remember what you said last night?"

Henry instinctively asked, "What did I say?"

Eleanor casually reminded, "You mentioned last night that Carson doesn’t like Dale Land. The reason they got together at first was because..."

Henry suddenly remembered.

He regretted saying too much about Carson and Dale Land’s relationship the previous night.

Eleanor’s eyes sparkled mischievously as she looked at him, "Henry, is it true that Carson doesn’t like Dale Land?"

Henry laughed awkwardly, "Are you still not over him? That’s in the past. Carson really likes Little Dale now."

Eleanor narrowed her eyes slightly as she heard this, her expression shifting momentarily, "Don’t twist my intentions. I’ve given up on him long ago. I was just surprised and a little amused to hear that."

Henry rubbed his nose uneasily, chuckling, "Eleanor, I drank too much last night. Don’t take what I said seriously or spread it around. Carson really cares about Little Dale now. You’ve seen it too—they’re getting married soon."

Eleanor stared at her freshly painted nails, speaking with a faint smile, "Relax, I won’t spread what you said. I wouldn’t ruin their wedding. I just find it surprising that this tidbit even exists."

She then added in admiration, "That girl is truly courageous."

Henry sighed to himself, thinking of that incident.

But he was now more worried that his accidental slip-up might cause trouble for Carson.

He dared not say anything more, simply replying, "Just pretend I was talking nonsense last night."

Eleanor listened to his feeble attempt at dismissiveness, smiling meaningfully, "Alright, I’ll treat it as nonsense."

Her eyes sparkled with calculation.

This was an unexpected windfall.

Henry got out of bed, glancing down at his chest where there were several scratch marks, "You really went wild last night. Your nails scratched me all over."

Eleanor looked at the marks on his chest, a flicker of disgust flashing across her gaze.

Those scratch marks weren’t hers; they were made by the sick woman Eleanor had brought to Henry the night before.

She casually replied, "You were too rough last night. Can’t I scratch you a little?"

Henry laughed it off, not giving it much thought, "Fine, fine. It’s just one or two marks. Doesn’t matter, men have thick skin anyway."

Eleanor smiled brightly.

I hope you won’t be laughing much longer.

When Henry went to shower, Eleanor left the room, disgusted.

By the time Henry finished his shower and came out, Eleanor was gone. He knew she had left.

He picked up his phone from the bedside table, hesitating about whether to call Carson to warn him that Eleanor had learned about the incident.

But as he mulled over how to broach the subject, a colleague from his company called him, urging him to get to work quickly.

Once Henry got busy at the company, he temporarily forgot about calling Carson.

Meanwhile, Eleanor, who had left the hotel, was pondering ways to use that girl’s story to break up Dale Land and Carson’s relationship.

She spent the whole day thinking without coming up with anything. When Bella Quarter returned home that night, Eleanor rushed to find her.

"Sister Bella, I found something out from Henry. It’s about Dale Land and Carson."

"What is it?" Bella had been busy all day and was exhausted. She leaned back against the sofa, turning her head to look at Eleanor.

"Carson initially approached Dale Land because of another girl. That girl is dead now. According to Henry, two years ago Carson and that girl went mountain climbing. She died saving Carson by falling off the mountain."

Eleanor hugged a pillow, sneering at how foolish that girl had been.

Bella’s interest was piqued, "Why did Carson approach Dale Land?"

Eleanor’s expression turned regretful, "Henry was drunk at the time and his words weren’t clear. Apparently, this girl had signed an organ donation agreement while she was alive."

Bella nodded. This detail could be exploited, but it would require Eleanor to handle it. Bella wasn’t going to interfere.

Eleanor scooted closer to Bella, blinking her eyes, "Sister Bella, you’re smarter than me. Give me some advice—how can I use this?"

Bella chuckled, tapping Eleanor’s head lightly with her finger, "Stay out of trouble. If you anger James and Julia, nobody will be able to save you."

Eleanor pouted, "I’m not planning anything big."

Bella said indifferently, "That girl’s family must have been heartbroken. Losing someone so young must be devastating."

Inspired by Bella’s words, Eleanor suddenly came up with a plan—to use the girl’s family to stir up trouble.

However, she still needed to investigate where the girl had lived and other details about the incident from two years ago.
