Chapter 410: The Bald Guy Watches Gossip
Chapter 410: Chapter 410: The Bald Guy Watches Gossip
Sea Pearl City, Dunn Family.
Today, Carson Dunn is bringing his fiancée home, and the family has invited some close friends and relatives over.
They were chatting warmly.
"The fiancée is the daughter of the Capital City Dale Group?" A glimmer of envy flashed in the relatives’ eyes.
The Dunn Company can’t compare to the Dale Group at all.
"Capital City Dale Group, that’s an internationally renowned corporation."
"What’s her personality like?" Mrs. Jiang asked Lorenzo Thornton.
Lorenzo Thornton smiled and said, "She has a great personality. You all chat here; I’ll make a call to check where Carson and the others are."
As Lorenzo Thornton left, Mrs. Jiang turned to speak with a young woman, who was Carson Dunn’s cousin.
Carson’s cousin whispered, "Aunt Jiang, her family background is good, but I heard she’s, well...a bit full-figured."
No one is perfect; as long as her family background and personality are good, that’s all that matters.
Carson Dunn entered the living room holding Dale Land’s hand.
"Carson, let go first," Dale Land was still feeling shy about holding hands with Carson in front of everyone.
"Not letting go. It’ll give you courage."
Seeing her son and Dale Land had arrived, Lorenzo Thornton walked over with a smile and held Dale’s hand warmly. "You’re finally here. I was just about to call you."
Dale Land smiled, "Aunt, hello."
Everyone sitting in the living room was shocked when they saw Dale Land.
Carson Dunn was so handsome—how could his girlfriend be so round?
But of course, in such occasions, no one would be stupid enough to make offensive comments.
A few exchanged knowing glances, while outwardly maintaining politeness and warmth.
Carson Dunn stood beside Dale Land and introduced her to relatives; Dale followed along to greet them individually.
Dale Land’s family background spoke for itself, and nobody was foolish enough to trouble her.
So today’s meeting went smoothly, and in the evening, Carson took Dale for a walk outside.
"Little girl?" Tara Young’s grandmother squinted, looking closely. It really was the girl she had encountered before.
Dale Land smiled, "Grandma, hello."
The elderly woman raised her head to look at the man beside Dale Land.
Dale Land laughed, "This is my boyfriend, Carson Dunn. Carson, this is Grandma Young."
The elderly woman sighed inwardly. Such a lucky girl, yet she belongs to someone else now.
Carson Dunn smiled and greeted her, "Hello, Grandma. I’m Carson Dunn. It’s a pleasure to meet you."
The grandmother looked at Dale Land and Carson Dunn with a kind gaze. "Hello."
The three stood and chatted for a while.
The elderly woman finally found out that Dale Land was preparing to get married.
She smiled kindly and gave her blessings, "Congratulations to you both! May your life be as sweet as candy."
Dale Land nodded, "Thank you."
Seeing that it was getting late, the elderly woman waved her hand and smiled to say goodbye, "Alright, you young ones continue your walk. Grandma will head back for now."
After watching the grandmother leave, Dale Land and Carson Dunn continued strolling the night streets.
They passed a street vendor selling flowers, and Carson bought one to give to Dale Land.
The man looked down at her, his eyes filled with tenderness.
**
The grandmother had just returned home when she put on her reading glasses, took out her phone, and called Tara Young.
In the car, Tara Young rubbed his temple as he heard his phone ring. Looking at the caller ID, he saw it was his grandmother.
Worried something had happened, he quickly picked up, "Grandma."
"Grand what? Argh, my heart feels like it’s hurting. I’m dying!" The elderly woman clutched her chest and shouted.
"...."
Her loud voice suggested nothing serious.
Tara Young calmly pointed out the truth, "You don’t have heart disease."
Upon hearing this, the elderly woman felt even more aggrieved. "No wonder you don’t have luck with women—you’re too rude. Dale’s getting married, and my heart aches."
Tara Young remained silent.
The elderly woman, not hearing a response, continued on her own, "Tara, your grandmother saw Dale today. She told me she’s getting married, and her fiancé is so handsome—handsomer than you."
Tara Young raised his brow slightly, "Oh, really? She’s getting married?"
The grandmother answered, "Yes, indeed. Good cabbage always gets taken by others."
The grandmother shook her head regretfully.
Tara Young replied nonchalantly, "Oh."
What "good cabbage"? She wasn’t even his type.
Feeling the conversation was going nowhere, the grandmother huffed coldly and hung up the call, unapologetically.
Tara Young, "..."
So the grandmother just called to recite the news of Dale’s upcoming marriage.....
The car arrived at a hotel.
The bodyguard opened the door. As Tara Young stepped out, he heard a cold yet slightly sorrowful female voice.
"Tara Young, please, help the King Family."
Ella King stood ahead, looking much thinner and frailer than before.
Tara Young frowned slightly and walked forward without sparing her a glance.
With bodyguards and James Fitzgerald by his side, Ella couldn’t get near him.
She looked at the man, her eyes filled with despair and sorrow, "Tara Young, the King Family is truly on the verge of collapse now. My parents, being older, couldn’t handle the stress and have been hospitalized. I’m begging you—help us."
Tara Young’s expression showed no sign of being moved.
Ella King’s tears welled up as she chased him into the hotel, pleading, "Tara Young, I beg you. I’m willing to give anything, as long as you can help the King Family one last time."
The man’s cold indifference was terrifying.
Suddenly, Ella took out a knife and placed it against her delicate neck. "Do you believe me? I’ll die here tonight!"
James Fitzgerald glanced back at Ella King before looking away, "Boss, she’s holding a knife, threatening suicide."
Tara Young’s gaze darkened with icy intensity. He stopped and turned around.
Ella King’s teary eyes fixed on him. She hadn’t expected that refusing their arranged marriage would lead the Dunn Clan to withdraw investment, driving the King Family to the brink of bankruptcy and causing her parents to fall ill.
Tara Young spoke coldly, "Ella King, this is someone else’s hotel. If you want to die, find another place. Life and death are your own choices."
Ella King was utterly shocked at his words, completely despairing.
She staggered slightly, but ultimately bit her lip, lifting her chin defiantly, "Tara Young, you..."
Uninterested in hearing further, Tara Young had no desire to become a public spectacle for gossip.
Turning away, he caught sight of a little bald-headed child by the reception desk.
The child wore suspenders and held a baby bottle, a pacifier in his mouth, his large eyes curious as he watched the scene.
Even kids loved watching drama this much?
