Goodbye, Ex-husband! I’m Pregnant with Your Uncle’s Child!
Chapter 340: Moved the Elephant’s Leg

Chapter 340: Chapter 340: Moved the Elephant’s Leg

The night has settled, and the whole house quieted down.

Julia Land snuggled up against James Thompson.

"Dale has really grown up; he has his own thoughts and goals now," Julia softly said, her eyes filled with pride yet tinged with worry.

James stroked Julia’s hair, his brows and eyes exuding a gentle warmth, "Are you worried that our daughter will get hurt in her relationships?"

Julia nodded and sighed, "I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t worried. We won’t know what kind of person Carson is until we meet him."

James understood Julia’s concerns. He whispered, "I worry too, but we have to trust Dale; our daughter is a smart and strong child."

Julia recalled the time she secretly went to school to surprise her daughter and happened to overhear her classmates unabashedly mocking her for being fat.

As a mother, hearing such mockery was deeply painful for Julia.

"Nowadays, how many excellent men are there who wouldn’t care about a woman’s appearance?" Julia muttered under her breath, a hint of worry flashing in her eyes.

James chuckled, his eyes deep, "Our daughter’s excellence isn’t just skin deep. She won’t let herself fall into a messy relationship. It’s just a man. If Dale wants to support a few men in the future, she can well afford to."

Julia thought about Mr. Thompson’s words and nodded; they made a lot of sense.

And she also believed in her daughter.

"Mrs. Thompson, life’s pleasures await. Shall I," James’s hands gently caressed her waist, hinting, "attend to you, my lady?"

Julia turned her body, her delicate and fair arm hanging on the man’s neck. Her pearly teeth gently nibbled on his Adam’s apple, "Alright."

Her gaze caught the tablet screen standing on the cabinet.

Just as James reached for her waist, he was stopped.

Julia pressed Mr. Thompson’s hand and lazily raised an eyebrow, "Look at your son, what is he up to?"

James turned to look at the tablet, thinking Alice had already fallen asleep, but he saw her crawling off the bed, stomach down.

The four-year-old boy got on his knees, half his body wriggling under the bed, and soon he crawled out with a watercolor box in hand.

The watercolor box was opened; aside from the paint, there were two candies.

Alice counted with chubby hands, two pieces; she’ll have one tonight!

Baby Alice is happy!

Julia couldn’t help but laugh.

James swore, "I didn’t give her any candy."

Julia said, "Neither did I, I’ve put away all the candies at home."

So where did Alice’s candies come from?

Alice peeled the candy wrapper with her tiny paws, counting the snacks she ate today, "I had a piece of bread today, and a candy!"

As soon as James heard his son mention bread, his brow twitched; with agile movement, he pulled the blanket over and wrapped Julia in the cocoon of the bed.

"Little Julia, wait a bit. I’ll take him to brush his teeth and stand in the corner as punishment! Let’s focus on our matters first."

The next day.

After a night’s rest, Dale Land was in high spirits.

After breakfast, she went for a walk with her parents. Upon returning, she went back to her room to call Carson, "Boyfriend, guess where I am right now?"

Carson Dunn was buying breakfast for Chairman Bella Quarter when he heard the soft and tender voice of his girlfriend on the phone and smiled, "Little Dale, have you returned to the country?"

"Correct answer! You’re so smart." Dale Land squinted her eyes with a smile as she moved her elephant-like legs to continue exercising, "When do you get off work?"

Carson Dunn asked Dale Land to wait a moment, then turned to the steamed bun vendor and said, "Boss, a box of steamed buns and a cup of sugar-free soy milk, thank you."

After getting breakfast and paying, he took the initiative to explain to Dale Land, "I’m buying breakfast for my boss."

Carson Dunn had a tall and slender figure, handsome features, and warm eyes.

He always seemed calm and composed when dealing with matters, which gave people a sense of reliability.

Hearing his explanation, Dale Land curled her lips into a smile and responded with a hum.

Although she had already eaten breakfast, she still cooed to her boyfriend, "I haven’t had breakfast either."

If someone saw Dale Land acting coquettish, they might find it incongruent with her appearance and perhaps even feel disgusted.

On the other end of the phone, Carson Dunn said warmly, "Send me your address, and I’ll order delivery for you."

"Okay." Dale Land hadn’t yet revealed her true identity to her boyfriend, so the home address she sent to Carson Dunn was still the fake one arranged by her "parents."

Carson Dunn had to hurry to work, so Dale Land hung up the phone first.

Before hanging up, the two had already arranged to contact each other and meet up in the evening.

**

Sitting in the car, Bella Quarter rubbed her temples.

Last night, late into the night, William Thompson returned from a night of drinking, and she was busy taking care of him.

Right now, she felt somewhat fatigued.

Without meaning to, Bella Quarter glanced out of the window and saw a figure, "Uncle Li, stop the car, please."

The car stopped, and Bella Quarter lowered the car window and called out, "Assistant Dunn."

Carson Dunn was in line waiting for the bus when he thought he heard someone calling him.

He turned his head and saw the chairman, so he walked over, "Good morning, Chairman."

Bella Quarter smiled faintly, "Get in."

"Thank you," Carson Dunn nodded. He walked around to the other side, opened the car door, and sat down. After fastening his seat belt, he handed over the breakfast in his hand, "This is the breakfast I bought for you."

Bella Quarter accepted the breakfast and thanked him, "Thank you, is today’s meeting material prepared?"

Carson Dunn nodded, "It’s ready. I’ve sent it to your email."

Bella Quarter looked at the breakfast in her hand, very pleased with Carson Dunn’s attention to detail.

She took a light bite of a steamed bun, and after eating two, along with a few sips of soy milk, she then turned to Carson Dunn, "How is the handover work with Assistant Hunter going? If there’s anything you don’t understand, just ask Assistant Hunter; he’s very capable in his work."

Carson Dunn nodded with a warm smile, "Assistant Hunter has been very dedicated during the handover."

Bella Quarter nodded and did not continue the conversation.

She had intentionally transferred Harry Hunter to manage the branch company.

After all, Assistant Hunter was the assistant from William Thompson’s grandfather’s time.

He had an intricate understanding of the company’s operations.

If he continued to stay at the head office, by her side, it would be inconvenient for her work.

Bella Quarter thought of her grandmother’s plan, pursed her red lips, and slightly furrowed her brows.
