Chapter 339: Chapter 339: Talked About Boyfriend

At the dining table, the family of four was eating dinner.

James Thompson and Julia Land were accustomed to a vegetarian diet, so the two of them had always been vegetarians.

However, they did not impose their vegetarian diet on their two children.

Today, Julia specially cooked a lavish meal for her daughter, which included chicken, duck, fish, and meat.

Dale Land looked at the lavish spread and said with emotion, "Mommy, thank you, you’ve worked hard."

"Cooking for you is not hard, Dale. This is your favorite braised fish." Julia used the serving chopsticks to pick up a piece of fish for Dale and placed it in her bowl, making sure to pick a piece without bones for her daughter.

Dale smiled at the bowl full of love and happily accepted, "Mommy, eat some yourself too, don’t just take care of me all the time."

She also served some food to Julia.

Julia smiled gently, "Okay."

James Thompson ate his meal slowly and deliberately.

Meanwhile, Alice Thompson felt sorry for herself, as no one was helping her to a drumstick.

Holding a spoon, she scooped up a spoonful of white rice and put it into her mouth, her round bright eyes continuously staring at the chicken, duck, fish, and meat on the table.

Mommy’s cooking is so delicious, it’s a pity that there isn’t a portion for darling Alice.

Alice’s little nose sniffed.

James Thompson was sitting next to Alice and turned his head to look at her when he heard her sniffing.

"....."

Eating is more enjoyable with nice smells.

Recently, Alice was strictly ordered by Julia to eat more vegetables and less meat.

Being a child, she was incredibly picky about food; she liked sweets and meats, but she just didn’t like vegetables.

Unable to resist the temptation any longer, Alice looked at Julia with her irresistibly cute eyes, "Mommy, there’s so much food, it’d be a waste to not finish it."

Julia nodded, she had unintentionally cooked too much today since her daughter came home.

Alice flashed a toothy smile and batted her eyelashes, "Mommy, baby’s tummy can stomach a lot!"

James Thompson felt like burying his face in his hands; at home, they really didn’t stint on providing Alice with food.

Seeing her son’s helpless eyes, Julia curved her lips into a gentle smile, "What does Alice think we should do with all this food?"

Alice’s eyes brightened and she raised her hand, "Mommy, can baby help eat some of the meat?"

Julia picked up her chopsticks and put some carrots, the vegetable that Alice hated the most, into his bowl, "Alice’s tummy is indeed impressive, it can definitely take some carrots too, go on."

Alice was stunned by the unexpected addition of carrots; she had clearly been talking about meat.

She looked up helplessly at her sister, whose bowl still had a crispy and fragrant fried drumstick.

She sent a plea for help to her sister.

Dale Land, enjoying the lovingly served braised fish by her mother, pretended not to see her brother’s pleading eyes.

Although she adored her brother, she dared not defy Mommy.

Julia really wanted to spank her son; she pretended to be stern, "Alice! Eat properly!"

Alice immediately behaved when he saw Mommy was about to lose her temper.

When it comes to getting spanked at home, no one does it more than Ms. Julia Land.

Julia scolded her son with a stern face but then instantly switched to a smile when she looked at her daughter, happily putting some scrambled eggs into her daughter’s bowl.

After the family finished eating, Julia asked Alice to go play while the three of them sat in the living room to talk.

"Dale, what do you want to do in the future?" Julia respected her daughter’s desires; whether taking over the company or doing something she liked, she wouldn’t object.

James Thompson couldn’t bear the thought of his daughter working hard in the company, he said lazily without thinking, "It would be nice to just eat and drink every day, our Dale doesn’t need to do anything, Daddy and Mommy have enough money to support you, and all this money will be yours eventually."

He clearly thought his daughter could afford to just lie back at home.

The forgotten Alice was pouting her bottom while looking for her ball, her sharp little ears caught the words "eat and drink," and her eyes lit up like lightbulbs.

She turned her head to look at her dad, "Alice loves to eat and drink the most."

Dale Land couldn’t help but turn her head away so as not to look at her dad’s increasingly dark expression.

James Thompson showed a mysterious smile, "Eating and drinking costs money, once you start working and earning money, you can afford to eat and drink."

Alice Thompson with her shiny black eyes said, "Mom and dad are rich!"

James Thompson, the elderly father, helplessly and sorrowfully said, "Alice, let me ask you, do mom and dad eat vegetables for lunch and dinner every day, right?"

Alice Thompson tilted her head and nodded, "Yeah, vegetables don’t taste good."

Alice doesn’t like eating vegetables!

James Thompson smiled, "Mom and dad don’t have much money to buy meat, so we can only eat vegetables every meal."

Alice Thompson instantly understood, sobbing, their family was out of money, "Dad, Alice will work and earn money in the future!"

James Thompson showed a relieved smile, "Good son."

Julia Land, "..."

Dale Land looked up at the ceiling, where the crystal lamp was worth a lot of money.

This conversation shifted off topic.

Coughing lightly, Dale Land started discussing her work plans, "Mommy, I plan to become Uncle Xu’s assistant to better understand the company’s operations."

Julia Land smiled, "Good."

Regardless of whether her daughter wanted to manage the company in the future, Julia Land hoped she at least wouldn’t be naive and easily deceived.

Although James Thompson was reluctant to let his daughter go to the company, he knew it was part of growing up. He sighed, "Dale, since you’ve decided, dad supports you, but don’t work too hard, and tell us if anything happens."

Dale Land looked at her parents gratefully, "Thanks, dad."

The daughter had grown up, Julia Land inwardly sighed, "Sweetheart, you go back to your room to rest first, if there’s anything else, we can talk about it tomorrow."

Dale Land had taken a plane and car today; she should rest first.

Dale Land nodded, but before she went to rest, there was one more thing she had to say, "Dad, mommy, I have something to tell you both."

After saying this, she smiled awkwardly.

Seeing her daughter’s embarrassed expression, Julia Land raised an eyebrow while James Thompson’s face turned stern.

Dale Land awkwardly said, "I have a boyfriend in school, when I skipped grades, he helped me organize my materials, and as time went by, we became close."

She cautiously checked her mom’s expression and then her dad’s.

Julia Land encouragingly said, "Dale, as long as you like him, mom and dad won’t object."

She nudged James Thompson, who was sitting next to her with a stern face; why so serious when the daughter is just dating?

James Thompson, nudged by his wife, immediately lifted the corners of his mouth, smiling.

Dale Land wasn’t one to beat around the bush, she continued, "He was originally a senior student, but after I skipped grades, we were in the same grade and major. Last month, he returned to Capital City and is now working there."

Julia Land nodded, "Where does he work, what’s his name?"

Dale Land paused, then said, "Mommy, his name is Carson Dunn, and last week he became a special assistant at the Thompson Group."

She knew about the current relationship between the people of the Thompson Family and her dad.

Carson Dunn going for an interview at the Thompson Group wasn’t something Dale Land initially knew about.

Her boyfriend had shared this good news with her after he received the job offer.

Upon hearing her daughter’s words, James Thompson frowned.

Seeing her daughter’s tense face, Julia Land laughed, stretching out her hand to pinch her daughter’s face.

"Don’t worry, we won’t be angry, Carson Dunn doesn’t know about our family’s relationship with the current Thompson Family. For the last decade, to protect you, we’ve kept your identity a secret from the public, baby, I’m sorry."

After their daughter was abducted as a child, Julia Land and James Thompson have been very protective and kept the outside world from knowing ever since they recovered her.

Hearing her mommy apologize, Dale Land shook her head, smiling while holding Julia Land’s arm, "Mommy, I know you did it for me. Carson always thought my dad was a manager of some company, and mom was a homemaker, mommy, he really is excellent."

Because of her looks and physique, Dale Land hadn’t really been pursued by anyone from childhood.

She initially felt quite insecure about it, but later came to terms with it herself.

But she never expected to meet a boy willing to date her in her last year of university.
