Chapter 338: Four-Year-Old Alice Thompson
Chapter 338: Chapter 338: Four-Year-Old Alice Thompson
Fifteen years later.
Capital City Airport.
Four-year-old Alice Thompson stood in the crowd, her chubby hands clutching a piece of bread and nibbling on it.
The way she ate the bread was different from others; first she would lick it, squint her eyes to enjoy it, and then take a big bite with an "ah-woo".
Alice Thompson, male, four years old this year.
He became a new life created when Julia Land, on her fortieth wedding anniversary, took advantage of James Thompson’s drunken state to overpower him.
As to why he was named Alice Thompson, it’s because his sister’s name was Dale Land, and when put together, the siblings’ names meant "kangaroo".
James Thompson looked down at his son Alice, who was endlessly munching on the bread, and couldn’t help but feel a pang of disdain in his heart.
How could he have fathered such a gluttonous son?
Alice Thompson was sensitive. He lifted his head, catching his dad’s lethal gaze, smiled with a grin showing his little teeth, and with bread crumbs still clinging to the corners of his mouth.
From the combined height of half of his dad’s long legs, plus half of his body, plus his neck, and then his head, he sensed his dad’s disdain for his baby self.
Ah, the drool is about to drip.
Alice Thompson heroically wiped off his drool with his hand, and that was that.
Dad’s disdain didn’t matter; mom was important, and so was his sister.
Seeing his son’s silly look, James Thompson took a deep breath.
With resignation, he shook his head, bent down, and pulled out the small towel Julia Land had prepared to wipe his son’s mouth.
"Remember not to tell Mom when we get home that Dad gave you bread to eat, okay?" James Thompson’s glare landed on Alice Thompson’s face, threateningly.
Recently, Julia Land had been controlling the frequency of Alice Thompson’s snacking.
And today, after going out with his son, James Thompson had made a bread-for-silence deal with Alice Thompson, a deal that couldn’t reach Julia’s ears.
Alice Thompson nodded his little head; the little guy was trustworthy, "Dad, Alice shook on it with you, I won’t tell mommy."
But he could tell his sister later!
James Thompson had no idea of his son’s thought process and was quite satisfied with his son’s cooperation.
He patted his son’s small head and stood up, putting the small towel back into his pocket.
*
"Sister!" Alice Thompson raised his little hand, trying hard to wave and call out, "Sister, Alice is here!"
As Dale Land pushed her luggage and walked out of the arrival gateway, she heard a little boy’s call. Following the sound, she saw her dad and brother.
Her lips curving into a smile, she quickly walked over with her luggage.
"So fat and yet walking so fast, not afraid of bumping into people," a slim woman frowned and murmured quietly as the chubby woman hurried past her.
Dale Land’s footsteps momentarily paused, but she quickly continued on as if nothing had happened, heading towards James Thompson.
She had grown accustomed to such gossips and knew how to not let them affect her.
It took her a long time growing up to restore her face back to a normal human appearance.
And because of a health condition that required medication, her weight had reached 260 pounds.
She was very fat.
But she had a family that loved her.
Dale Land’s voice was in stark contrast to her appearance, tender and soft, "Dad, why are you here? You should be careful with your health, just getting out of the hospital."
Now forty-six-year-old James Thompson always showed a tender and spoiled look of an old father when facing his daughter, "Just considered it as a walk."
Alice Thompson saw that his sister did not see him at first glance and blinked his eyes.
Little as he was, he sighed, blaming his short stature!
He still needs to eat more to grow taller!
His sigh was hard to ignore.
Dale Land looked down at her brother, bent over to lift up Alice Thompson with a smile, "Baby Alice, why the sigh? Unhappy to see your sister?"
"Happy! Alice loves sister the most!" Alice Thompson’s eyes shone brightly as the sweet words flowed from his little mouth.
James Thompson snorted, "This morning you said you loved mom the most. I’ll tell your mom when we get home that you lied."
Alice Thompson’s accusing little eyes looked at his cold and heartless dad, "Dad, Alice didn’t lie, I love mommy the most, and I love sister the most!"
Both are his greatest loves.
Bodyguards escorted James Thompson and others out of the airport.
Dale Land smiled as she listened to the argument between her father and her little brother.
James Thompson reached out to lift Alice Thompson, knowing well the weight of the little guy, reluctant to let his daughter get tired.
"Dad, let me carry her," Dale Land said gently.
Alice Thompson looked towards James Thompson cockily, her eyes saying that sister would carry him!
"Sister, I can walk by myself," said Alice Thompson, who still cared for his sister.
"Dale, let him walk by himself, he needs the exercise," James Thompson also said.
Dale Land knew her dad cherished her, and obediently put Alice Thompson down, holding her brother’s hand with one hand and James Thompson’s arm with the other.
Their group proceeded to walk out of the airport.
*
Meanwhile, the other side of the airport’s arrival hall suddenly erupted with deafening screams.
Someone in the crowd was shouting, "Eleanor, Eleanor, I love you!"
Eleanor Thompson, tall and with perfect curves, heard her fans’ shouts and took off her sunglasses to wave at them.
Eleanor Thompson is a goddess of fashion design in the fashion industry.
She’s haughty but has a unique eye for fashion, and coupled with her status as a princess of the Thompson Group, she has always enjoyed high profile and popularity.
Eleanor Thompson, carrying her high heels, walked out of the airport under the protection of her bodyguards.
The car door opened.
She sat down in the car, and when she saw the beautifully featured, serene-tempered woman inside.
Eleanor Thompson immediately took off her sunglasses, excitedly hugging the woman’s arm, "Sister-in-law, aren’t you very busy? How come you’re here to pick me up?"
Bella Quarter smiled gently, "No matter how busy, I have to pick up our princess."
Eleanor Thompson leaned on Bella Quarter’s shoulder, acting spoiled, "Sister-in-law, you are the kindest to me. By the way, where’s my brother?"
A flash of sadness quickly passed through Bella Quarter’s eyes, but Eleanor didn’t notice as she softly said, "Your brother has been busy lately; we have already prepared a party at home to celebrate your victory at the international fashion competition."
Eleanor Thompson said angrily with a snort, "Sister-in-law, stop hiding it for my brother. He’s probably messing around in some woman’s bed right now."
The Thompson Group is now managed by Bella Quarter, while William Thompson spends all day out and about, enjoying life.
The smile on Bella Quarter’s face was a bit forced, but she still said gently, "Eleanor, I have a gift for you. Open it and see if you like it."
She handed a beautifully wrapped gift box to Eleanor Thompson.
Eleanor Thompson opened the box and was a bit disappointed at the sight of the gift, "I don’t really like this necklace design. You keep it for yourself, sister-in-law."
Bella Quarter helplessly shook her head, laughing as she took back the gift, "Alright, us mortals cannot comprehend the taste of our fashion master."
The sisters-in-law got along harmoniously.
Just then, Bella Quarter’s phone rang; she answered the call from the new assistant who took office, alerting her to urgent business at the company that needed her attention.
**
On the other side.
The Thompson’s car arrived at the house.
Dale Land hadn’t yet gotten out of the car when she saw Julia Land, dressed in home attire, waiting for them at the door.
Julia Land’s hair was up in a bun and at the age of 45, her figure was still well-maintained.
Seeing her daughter getting out of the car, a smile emerged at the corner of her mouth as she went over and extended her arms to embrace her daughter, "My baby is finally back home."
Dale Land smiled, "Mommy."
James Thompson and Alice Thompson stood aside, looking lonely as they watched the mother and daughter pour out their feelings.
"Baby, have you not been resting well lately? Why do you have dark circles under your eyes?" Julia Land touched her daughter’s face with concern.
Look at these dark circles; they must be from the hardship of studying. It’s all James Thompson’s fault, sending the daughter so far away for school. Thankfully, she’s graduated now.
James Thompson received a glare from Julia Land, "?"
Dale Land, seeing her mother’s concerned gaze, felt sweet inside, but still said, "Mommy, it wasn’t hard at all, really. I have missed the dishes you cook."
Last year, James Thompson suddenly collapsed and his health had hit a red light. Dale Land chose to work hard to skip grades and compress her graduation time.
She graduated early this year specifically to return home and be with her dad and mom.
