Chapter 335 Oh My Goodness
Chapter 335: Chapter 335 Oh My Goodness
Jack Munday, carrying an honest look, brought bamboo shoots from Basket Village as a gift for the two neighboring households on the floor.
"These are bamboos grown in our village, not something very precious, just brought them for you guys to try," he said with a naive smile on his face.
Seeing his honest expression and the freshness of the bamboos, and acknowledging the fact that they were indeed not expensive, the neighbors accepted them.
"Thank you, really thoughtful of you," said one neighbor as they accepted the bamboo shoots, "Our family happens to love eating bamboo shoots."
After giving the bamboo shoots, Jack Munday returned home.
Hazel Fields saw Jack Munday with a smile on his face and couldn’t help but say, "You went to give away stuff? Why give it to them? You are not even close."
Jack Munday snorted, "What do you know? Get things organized quickly, see what’s missing, we’ll go buy it in a bit."
Hazel Fields turned to Dale Land and scolded coldly, "Ugly girl, hurry up, get these things sorted!"
A little girl could only pack up things so fast.
Jackson Munday excitedly toured the new house again and touched his stomach, hungry, "Dad, can we go eat beef noodles?"
Jack Munday felt like eating too, "Let’s go."
It’s convenient to eat anything when you’re in town.
Hazel Fields also chimed in, "I’m going too, and after eating we can go to the supermarket to shop."
"If you’re going, who will watch her?" Jack Munday pointed to Dale Land.
Since Dale Land had work to do, she did not have a rope tied around her ankle.
Hazel Fields placed her hands on her hips and snorted coldly, "I’ll lock her in our bedroom, let her help us organize the bedroom first."
She didn’t believe Dale Land could unlock the security lock.
Jack Munday didn’t object, as long as the person couldn’t escape, it was fine.
Hazel Fields pulled Dale Land into the bedroom, and before locking the door, she warned, "Do a good job cleaning up, if you’re not done when we come back, you’ll get a beating."
Dale Land lowered her head and remained silent.
Hazel Fields locked the door, put the key in her pocket, and left the house with Jack Munday and the others.
The bedroom quieted down.
Dale Land, at her young age, looked around somewhat fearfully and anxiously—did she really know how to clean up?
When Hazel Fields and her family returned home full and carrying bags three hours later,
Hazel Fields took out the bedroom key from her pocket, unlocked the door, pushed it open, and seeing the mess all over the floor, she stomped her feet in anger, "Damnit, ugly girl, how did you tidy up!"
She stepped into the bedroom, casually raised her hand, and slapped Dale Land several times.
Facing Hazel Fields’ scolding and slaps, Dale Land stood silently in fear, taking the hits.
She sobbed quietly, not daring to resist.
"You fool, you can’t even handle a small task properly!"
Jack Munday sat on the sofa, turned on the TV, and upon hearing the scolding from the bedroom, he frowned and looked towards the bedroom, "Stop hitting her, just clean up the room quickly, I want to sleep. What a waste of time."
Hazel Fields reluctantly responded, "Got it."
She glared at Dale Land, pointing at the clothes inside a box on the floor, "Put these clothes into the closet!"
**
Julia Land had been in Cloud Thought Town for a full six months, still without any news of her daughter.
She was wearing clothes worth less than a hundred yuan, holding a popsicle, standing beside a street in Cloud Thought Town, watching the passersby.
James Knight stood half a step behind her, glanced at his watch and spoke softly, "Miss Land, BOSS should have arrived."
Julia Land nodded, turned around with sharp eyes, "Let’s go."
James Thompson was waiting downstairs for Julia Land; upon seeing her, he walked briskly towards her.
The man reached out and embraced her tightly.
He bowed his head and kissed her forehead, "Sorry, I came late."
Julia Land buried herself in James Thompson’s embrace, whispering, "We couldn’t find our daughter in Cloud Thought Town."
It’s time to search elsewhere.
Holding Julia’s hand, James Thompson led her upstairs into a room, and James Knight did not follow them in.
After a bath, Julia came out to find James Thompson looking at a map. She handed him a bottle of water, sat next to him, and asked, "Mr. Thompson, any ideas?"
James Thompson took the water and looked up at her, "Next, we’ll start searching in the towns near Cloud Thought Town."
Julia nodded as she studied the route, "Alright, let’s head to Zhouxiang Town first."
James Thompson switched on the computer and pulled up the personnel who had previously searched in Zhouxiang Town, "Good, let’s search there again."
He stretched his arms and embraced Julia.
Julia rested against James Thompson’s chest and closed her eyes.
Despite the long road ahead, all they could do was pray that one day they would find their child.
Early the next day, they packed their luggage and set out for Zhouxiang Town.
The car jolted along a mountainous path.
Joseph Wilson and his brother Ian Wilson had received a call the previous night and had swiftly arranged accommodations.
Now, they were waiting at the building entrance early in the morning for their boss’s arrival.
"I heard the boss came personally for the search, could it be that he’s dissatisfied with us?" Joseph Wilson whispered nervously.
"Don’t overthink," Ian Wilson said calmly, "We’re short-handed here, and this time the boss brought more people with him."
Joseph Wilson nodded, still slightly anxious, but his brother’s composure reassured him a bit.
The car carrying James Thompson finally entered Zhouxiang Town.
After getting out of the car, James Thompson saw Joseph Wilson and Ian Wilson waiting at the entrance.
Having their photos and information, James Thompson recognized them.
And for Joseph Wilson and his brother, it was their first time seeing their boss’s face.
This was a man with a commanding presence, his hair partially grey, which did not make him look old but rather added a refined and handsome charm.
He was holding a woman’s hand, walking leisurely towards them.
James Knight walked up to Joseph Wilson and his group and slightly reminded them, "The boss has arrived."
Joseph Wilson nodded, leading the way respectfully, "Boss, we have arranged the accommodations, please follow us."
Hazel Fields carrying a bag of vegetables, returned to the community building and spotted a group walking into the community. She curiously sneaked a glance.
Her eyes widened in amazement, thinking to herself: My goodness, has a big boss come to our remote little place?
Looking more closely, Hazel recognized the Wilson brothers.
She was even more surprised and joyful; weren’t these two brothers who once tried to lease land for farming in Basket Village?
Why would they bring such an impressive boss here?
Unable to contain her curiosity, she followed them and realized they were heading the same way.
She saw them entering the building next door.
Eagerly Hazel rushed home to share the exciting news with Jack Munday, "Darling, do you remember the people who came to our Basket Village months ago wanting to lease the mountains? I saw them again today. The people they brought have a real city air about them. If they buy our land, we’ll make a fortune!"
Thinking of her mountain land being sold, Hazel was overjoyed.
Jack Munday, who was watching TV, looked up in surprise, "Really? I’ll call the village chief!"
However, several months had passed, and perhaps they might not buy the mountain land in their village.
Immediately, Jack Munday picked up his new cell phone and dialed the village chief’s number.
