Goodbye, Ex-husband! I’m Pregnant with Your Uncle’s Child! -
Chapter 329: I’ll Cheat Too
Chapter 329: Chapter 329: I’ll Cheat Too
James Thompson sat in the chair in the study.
He looked at the documents on the table with an expressionless face, his fingers gently tapping the tabletop.
Julia Land walked into the study, came up to him, and picked up the documents from the table to read.
When Cody Thompson was transported back to Capital City, James had people secretly take his body to the hospital for a secret examination.
The documents now on the table were the results of that examination, which had turned up nothing unusual.
Julia furrowed her brow, put down the documents, pulled a chair over, and sat down, "Uncle Thompson’s death only has two possibilities, one being a true accident, the other being man-made, Mr. Thompson, which one do you think it is?"
James turned his head to look at Julia. Seeing her in short sleeves and fearing she might feel cold, he first grabbed the remote control to adjust the air conditioning.
He still harbored suspicions about the old man’s death. "I asked Assistant Hunter. The old man had just had a health check last month, and he was in reasonable shape, always keeping his ’three highs’ well under control."
"But, Jasper Winters couldn’t find any suspicious information from Alice’s end. However, I will still send people to watch over the second wife’s side."
As for the inheritance of Thompson Group and Thompson Family’s wealth, which the old man had almost left to the twins, James thought of the old man’s approach, and a faint, cryptic smile played on his lips—that was very much in the old man’s style.

Meanwhile, at the old Thompson residence.
Maya Chant personally lulled Eleanor Thompson to sleep before she went to check on William Thompson in the adjacent room.
Seeing him playing games, she smiled and closed his bedroom door, letting him play to his heart’s content.
Afterward, she went to the study to make a video call to Noah Quarter.
"Noah, are you currently outside?" Maya asked through the phone lens, noticing that Noah seemed to be sitting at a bus stop.
It was pouring rain tonight in Dunmore City.
Noah, wearing Bluetooth earbuds and listening to the sound of the rain, replied, "Grandma, I’m waiting for the bus at the stop, there’s no one around right now."
Maya’s face instantly turned cold, her grandson actually had to wait for the bus on a rainy late night.
"Why are you out so late, were you kicked out by Emily Yeat?"
Hearing the name Emily Yeat, a flash of aversion passed through Noah’s eyes, and he gently assured Maya not to be angry, "Grandma, don’t be angry, I’ll actually be more comfortable going to stay at a hotel."
Emily Yeat had long since trampled on his dignity without reserve.
Maya took a deep breath, "Well, it’s for the best to leave a woman like Emily Yeat. I’ve already prepared a new identity for you abroad. Wait a while and find a way to go overseas, then you can start anew."
Noah nodded and thought for a moment before saying, "Wouldn’t it be better to postpone my departure? I’m worried that James might suspect something about Cody’s death. Grandma, you need to be careful."
Maya smiled softly, speaking in a gentle tone, "No need to postpone. You should leave the country as soon as possible and get away from the Yeat Family. Let James suspect if he wants to, after all, there’s no evidence to prove I hurt anyone."
She continued with a cold laugh, "Next week I will take the twins to Alice’s. When the time comes, I’ll ’cultivate’ the twins properly. I can’t believe that for ten years James would have someone keep tabs on me every day."
"After five or six years, we can slowly shift the Thompson Family’s wealth. As for Thompson Group, when William lacks the capacity to manage it, our little Arabella will be just right to take over Thompson Group."
James caused her grandson to lose the Quarter Group and made him live humbly begging for a living for these past few years. Let’s take everything from the Thompson Family as compensation!
Listening to his grandma’s words, Noah felt only gratitude and admiration, but there was one thing he was worried about, "Will James take away the twins to raise them? If so, our plan will fail."
Maya chuckled, "He won’t possibly take the twins to raise. Have you forgotten Julia Land? He wouldn’t let Julia Land suffer such an indignity."
When Noah heard the name Julia Land, he lowered his gaze to hide a fleeting complexity.
"Grandma, I understand. I will arrange to leave the country as fast as I can," Noah said with a cool smile, "There’s also something we can use to our advantage. Dale Land isn’t dead, but she should be missing now."
"What?" Maya asked in shock, "Dale Land isn’t dead?"
"Mhm, I saw her being taken away by a strange man in a car in Dunmore City a while ago," Noah suggested coldly, "We can use the news of Dale Land to distract Julia Land and James, so they have no time to pay attention to what we’re doing."
Maya nodded slightly, "I’ll take care of this matter. Noah, your grandma believes in you, you’re the hope of our family. As long as you make something of yourself in the future, we won’t have to fear James."
Noah Quarter curved his lips into a smile, he would never forget the humiliation James Thompson brought him. He nodded, "Grandma, you also take care of yourself."
After hanging up the phone, Noah Quarter also waited for the bus, boarded it and went to check into the hotel.
*
On the other hand, after Emily Yeat kicked Noah Quarter out of the house, she felt moody.
She started to find Noah Quarter more and more irksome.
Not considerate at all.
She sat on the sofa, picked up her phone, and called Zachary Wenchester.
On the other end of the call, Zachary Wenchester quickly answered, "Emily."
Emily Yeat felt a sense of grievance upon hearing Zachary Wenchester’s voice, "Zachary, would you go out for a drink with me?"
Today was her birthday, and Noah Quarter had actually forgotten it.
Zachary Wenchester looked at the pouring rain outside and hesitated for a moment before suggesting, "Emily, how about come to my place for drinks? Don’t worry, my sister is also home, it won’t be just the two of us."
Emily Yeat considered Zachary Wenchester’s suggestion for a moment.
But remembering that today was her birthday, and not only had Noah Quarter forgotten, but he had also angered her,
she eventually accepted Zachary Wenchester’s invitation, "Alright, then I’ll come to your place."
Emily Yeat changed into a dress, put on makeup, grabbed her purse, and called her bodyguard to take her to Zachary Wenchester’s residence.
She discovered tonight that Zachary Wenchester could do a lot of things, like cooking great dishes, folding flowers, painting, and even playing the guitar to cheer her up.
Emily Yeat covered her pounding heart; she stayed overnight at Zachary Wenchester’s place.
The man was very considerate and didn’t touch her.
*
The next day, as Emily Yeat opened the door to leave Zachary Wenchester’s place, the tenant across also happened to open their door.
Leah Thompson never expected to see her daughter-in-law walking out from the newly moved-in neighbor’s home.
"Emily Yeat!" she glared at the man behind Emily, "Well, well, the scoundrel lives here too! Wooing a married woman, you, a full-grown man, aren’t ashamed!"
Seeing Leah Thompson, Emily Yeat’s expression shifted slightly, but she quickly regained her composure, "Auntie, I’ll divorce Noah Quarter tomorrow!"
Right now, it was Noah Quarter who depended on the Yeat Clan, not the other way around; what did she have to worry about?
Emily Yeat nodded to Zachary Wenchester, "I’m leaving now, you don’t need to bother with the auntie across, just call me if anything."
Zachary Wenchester coolly replied with a faint smile, "Okay."
Leah Thompson, seeing this man and woman completely ignoring her, blocked Emily Yeat’s way directly, "Did you stay overnight here yesterday?"
Emily Yeat wasn’t afraid of Leah Thompson, she lifted her chin and sneered, "Move aside, where I spend the night is none of your business, right? Don’t forget, your son is now working at Yeat Clan."
Leah Thompson’s face turned ugly. If Quarter Group were still around, no one would dare treat them this way, "Emily Yeat, you haven’t divorced Noah yet, and your actions now can already be considered infidelity! Aren’t you worried about your own reputation?"
Emily Yeat laughed as if she had heard a joke, covering her mouth before speaking disdainfully, "Do you dare to spread this around? It will make Noah Quarter lose even more face, won’t it?"
Upon hearing this, Leah Thompson was angry yet impotent since her son would also be ridiculed.
With contempt in her eyes, before leaving, Emily Yeat coldly sneered, "After your son married Julia Land, didn’t he also lovey-dovey with his ex Arabella Shaw outside? He cheated, and I learned to cheat from him, how fair is that? Right?"
Leah Thompson watched Emily Yeat’s defiant departure, struggling to breathe as her chest heaved up and down.
Zachary Wenchester nodded coolly at Leah Thompson, then turned to go back inside and close the door.
Yesterday, he had just moved here obeying Douglas Hayes’ instructions, and first thing in the morning, he witnessed such a scene.
