Chapter 321: Chapter 321: Delicate Friction

"Sister-in-law, are you sure?" Mason Moore asked uncertainly.

Did Daniel Moore actually lose that much money?

Claire Hamilton nodded, "The younger sister-in-law said Daniel went big this time."

Mason Moore couldn’t sit still anymore; he stood up and paced back and forth, his face ashen, "This is impossible, what is that idiot Daniel up to! I’ll go ask him."

Mason Moore hurriedly left the study.

Uncle Moore had been silent; a spark of inspiration flashed through his mind.

He quickly called his subordinates with a stern face, "Go check how much Daniel has lost gambling recently, and get me an answer as soon as possible."

After hanging up the phone, Uncle Moore frowned, lost in thought.

The doubts Mason had not long ago might actually be true.

This plan was supposed to be foolproof, but Julia Land unraveled it.

Julia Land might really have known about their plot to harm her in advance through some channel!

Seeing Uncle Moore with a stern face thinking, Claire Hamilton quietly excused herself from the study.

Shortly thereafter, Uncle Moore’s subordinate called him, "Mr. Moore, we found out that last night Mr. Daniel Moore lost fifteen billion at the casino, and he has also lost a lot before and has now borrowed a significant amount of high-interest loans."

Uncle Moore’s expression turned ugly upon hearing this.

He suddenly realized, Daniel may have leaked their secretive plot against Julia Land.

However, he needed to investigate further before drawing conclusions.

"Keep investigating, see who Daniel has been in contact with recently," Uncle Moore ordered coldly.

Uncle Moore decided to go and probe Daniel’s situation.

Not long after Mason Moore arrived at Daniel’s house, Uncle Moore also arrived.

Daniel was catching up on sleep but was rudely awakened by Mason, which made him very irritable. He didn’t dare lash out at Mason, so he snapped at his wife instead, "It’s your big mouth."

Daniel’s wife’s face also turned sour, disgraced by being scolded by Daniel in front of his cousins.

Seeing that Uncle Moore was also there, Daniel could only irritably scratch his head, "Can you wait until I’ve had enough sleep before coming to find me?"

"No," Mason huffed coldly and went straight to the point, "I heard you lost over ten billion at the casino?"

Showing no energy, Daniel slumped down on the sofa and said resignedly, "Yeah."

"Daniel, are you out of your mind? Why go so big on this?" Mason was speechless.

It wasn’t his money, but considering their long acquaintance, he still felt he should advise Daniel.

Daniel had no excuse; he had gotten carried away and by the time he realized, the loss was substantial.

Uncle Moore, who had been silent, stared at Daniel with a calm yet imposing tone, "How much exactly did you lose?"

Daniel bowed his head, vaguely replying, "Over ten billion, I guess."

Uncle Moore scoffed, "Over ten billion? I’ve already had it checked; you owe high-interest loans, high-interest loans, it couldn’t just be over ten billion, could it?"

Listened to what Uncle Moore said, Daniel’s wife stared at her husband in shock, "You took out high-interest loans?"

Daniel glared at her, "Shut up, get out."

Uncle Moore’s eyes turned cold, "I think the one who needs to shut up is you. How much high-interest debt do you owe outside?"

Suddenly, Daniel looked at Uncle Moore and Mason, his tone pleading, "Could you lend me money to pay off the high-interest loans? For you, it’s not much, just twenty-five billion."

Uncle Moore and Mason’s expressions turned serious.

Mason frowned, "Daniel, twenty-five billion? Do you know what you’re saying? You’ve accumulated so much high-interest debt outside? Are you out of your mind? Who would lend you so much?"

With a tone of helplessness and despair, Daniel said, "I know I made a mistake, but I really have no other choice. Help me this time, and I will definitely pay you back. I borrowed high-interest loans from the casino."

Uncle Moore was reluctant to lend money; if he did, it might never come back.

But he couldn’t just say that outright; he had to minimize the losses, "You brought this upon yourself. Now you want us to clean up after you. You can go to Logan and the others, have each person lend you a little."

Daniel Moore thought that Uncle Moore’s suggestion was good. By each person lending a bit, they would be able to gather enough money.

After contemplating, Uncle Moore still found it strange, "Were you set up by someone?"

Otherwise... how could it have escalated to almost ruining your family’s fortune.

Daniel Moore was startled for a moment, "I don’t think so?"

Could it really be that someone had set him up?

Uncle Moore took a look at Daniel Moore, stood up, and said, "I’ll leave now, I’ll look into this for you."

Daniel Moore nodded gratefully, "Cousin, thank you."

As Uncle Moore left, Mason Moore followed, feeling upset.

After leaving Daniel Moore’s house, Uncle Moore returned to his car with a furrowed brow, feeling that there was more to Daniel Moore’s situation.

Upon returning home, he received a phone call from a subordinate.

The subordinate spoke cautiously on the phone, "We discovered something. Recently, Director Land’s assistant, Assistant Hughes, had met with Mr. Daniel Moore. We’re not sure if it was coincidental."

Uncle Moore’s brow furrowed even more, and a chill flashed through his eyes, "Assistant Hughes?"

He then sneered, "Well, it seems I might have been betrayed by one of our own."

After hanging up, he planned to probe Daniel Moore later to see if he indeed betrayed them.

However, he was already ninety percent sure that Daniel Moore had betrayed them.

He then directly called Daniel Moore.

Daniel Moore picked up the phone, puzzled. Why was he calling again right after leaving?

Uncle Moore spoke calmly and kindly, "I can lend you two hundred million temporarily," he pretended to sigh and continued, "Tomorrow, I plan to send someone to wait for Julia Land below the Dale Group building, to splash sulfuric acid on her. It must be painful for a woman to have her face disfigured."

When Daniel Moore heard Uncle Moore could only lend him two hundred million, he felt a bit unhappy.

But when he heard what Uncle Moore said next, he glanced around slyly, feeling delighted.

He was ready to make another score from Julia Land.

Daniel Moore asked curiously, "Cousin, are you really planning to send someone to splash disfiguring liquid on Julia Land? Is the person you’re sending dependable?"

Uncle Moore narrowed his eyes and gave a cold smile, "Very dependable."

After ending the call with Uncle Moore, Daniel Moore immediately contacted Tyler Hughes.

When Tyler Hughes answered the phone, he heard Daniel Moore smiling on the other end, "Assistant Hughes, I have some information to negotiate with Julia Land."

Tyler Hughes also chuckled, "Good."

Daniel Moore informed Tyler Hughes about Uncle Moore’s plan to have someone wait for Julia Land at the company building the following day.

Both parties were very satisfied with the transaction.

After hanging up, Tyler Hughes knocked on Julia Land’s office door.

After hearing the invitation to enter, he pushed the door open and walked into the office, just in time to see James Thompson feeding Julia Land.

Seeing this display of affection, Tyler Hughes waited for Julia Land to finish eating before speaking, "Director, Daniel Moore called to sell information. He said Uncle Moore has arranged for someone to be near the company building tomorrow."

James Thompson squeezed Julia Land’s ear with a smirk as Tyler Hughes spoke.

Julia Land, "....." Why is he pinching her ear again.

Tyler Hughes wisely turned and left the office.

After Tyler Hughes left, Julia Land quickly spilled the beans, "The fact that Daniel Moore is in debt from high-interest loans, and his meeting with Tyler Hughes, were all intentionally let slip to Uncle Moore by me. Uncle Moore must also suspect that Daniel Moore has betrayed him now."

James Thompson released Julia Land’s ear, reached out to pinch her chin, and asked with a smile, "Little Pear, are you planning to let them fight each other first?"

A sly glint flashed in Julia Land’s eyes, "Exactly, I just need to give them a little push to make them turn against each other completely."

James Thompson chuckled deeply, his fingertips gently rubbing the crafty corner of Julia Land’s eyes.
