Chapter 319: Chapter 319: Dominating Him

Julia Land was placed in the backseat, feigning unconsciousness.

The car’s destination was unknown.

She listened to the conversation of the two in the car, sneering inwardly.

"Tonight went so smoothly. I heard this woman is really rich," a sleazy male voice said, "It’d be a pity if she died."

Another female voice warned, "Our main priority is to complete the mission. Once we get the money, I won’t care how many women you find for yourself."

"Big sis, I know." The sleazy man was very obedient to his ’big sister’.

Unsure how long the car had been driving, it finally stopped.

"We’re here," the woman’s voice said, "Get her out."

Julia Land heard the sound of the car door being opened.

The man helped her out of the car.

Julia Land was pushed by that man into a hole they had dug in advance.

Luckily, the pit wasn’t deep.

Otherwise, her fall would’ve been miserable.

"Hurry up and fill it in," the woman urged.

So they planned to bury her alive.

The sleazy man answered and began to shovel dirt into the pit.

"Don’t move!"

Police suddenly appeared from all around, surrounding the sibling duo.

Tyler Hughes and Michael Scott quickly jumped into the pit.

"Chairman."

"Boss."

Julia Land opened her eyes. Tyler Hughes helped her up, with Michael Scott patting down the dirt on her body.

The three of them climbed out of the pit.

Julia Land’s gaze fell on the siblings who had attempted to murder her.

A police officer came over, "Miss Land, we need your cooperation to take a statement."

Julia Land took the wet wipes Tyler Hughes passed to her and wiped the dirt off her face.

Her expression was grave as she spoke to the officer, "I suspect the mastermind behind this wants to commit murder for wealth, likely targeting the Dale Group."

The group set off for the police station.

While Julia Land went in to record her statement, James Thompson, waiting for her to return home, grew worried as he hadn’t seen her and called Julia Land.

Tyler Hughes looked at the vibrating phone in his hand, glanced at the caller ID, and quickly stuffed the phone into Michael Scott’s hand, "Senior, you take it."

Michael Scott gave Tyler Hughes a cold look, devoid of alumni affection, "You take it."

He pushed the phone back to Tyler Hughes.

Tyler Hughes, not daring to delay further, obediently answered the call, "Hello, Mr. Thompson."

When James Thompson heard Tyler Hughes on the phone, his eyes narrowed. His action of stirring coffee with a small spoon suddenly stopped, "Where’s Little Julia?"

Tyler Hughes rubbed the back of his head, quickly making up an excuse, "At a banquet."

James Thompson’s brows furrowed slightly, "She said she would just show her face and come back."

Tyler Hughes quickly replied, "The boss is discussing business with some cooperating business owners at the banquet. She’ll be back soon, don’t worry."

Mr. Thompson’s lips curled up slightly, his tone cooling, "Tyler Hughes, are you sure there’s nothing wrong?"

Tyler Hughes wanted to cry out for help internally; he thought he hadn’t given anything away.

"Mr. Thompson, really, everything’s fine."

Mr. Thompson fell silent for a moment, his voice remaining calm, "Good, I understand. If anything happens, notify me immediately."

Tyler Hughes breathed a sigh of relief, "Understood, Mr. Thompson."

After hanging up the phone, Mr. Thompson tapped his coffee cup with his index finger. He was about to call Jasper Winters to check but then stopped.

Not long after, Julia Land completed her statement and walked out of the police station.

Seeing Tyler Hughes and Michael Scott’s hesitantly speechless expressions, she frowned, "What happened?"

Tyler Hughes explained, "Mr. Thompson called, and we told him you were at a banquet."

Julia Land, "...I see. Let’s hurry back."

The group quickly got into the car, and while on board, Julia Land instructed Tyler Hughes, "Assistant Hughes, wait another two days and then hand over the premeditated murder recording we bought from Daniel Moore to the police."

Assistant Hughes nodded, "Yes."

Julia Land returned home.

She saw James Thompson already waiting for her at the door.

James Thompson’s gaze immediately fell on the disheveled and dirty dress Julia Land was wearing, "Are you injured anywhere?"

Julia Land shook her head, "No."

James Thompson didn’t rush to ask what had happened, instead he asked her to take a shower first.

Julia Land originally thought that the matter would be left at that, that Mr. Thompson probably wasn’t angry.

Unexpectedly, as soon as she came out from the bathroom, James Thompson pinched her ear.

The man was smiling without showing his teeth, and asked in a sinister tone, "Tell me, what happened?"

Julia Land knew she couldn’t escape, so she stood up straight and honestly confessed, "Tonight, Uncle Moore and his people hired someone to harm me, but thankfully the police arrived in time and caught them."

James Thompson’s sinister smile did not fade, but his tone became even colder, "Someone wanted to harm you? Did you already know about it, and then used yourself as bait?"

Julia Land forced a silly laugh, looking up at the ceiling. The ceiling light was too bright, it hurt her eyes, so she looked down at the floor.

Seeing Julia Land looking up and down nervously, James Thompson understood everything.

Good job.

Julia Land explained in a soft voice, "This is called luring the snake out of the hole, to catch them all in one fell swoop."

James Thompson took a deep breath and smiled slightly, "Do you know how dangerous this kind of thing is? The slightest carelessness, and you would have been done for! And why did you hide it from me?"

James Thompson continued to pinch Julia Land’s ear, not letting go.

Julia Land deliberately covered her ear and cried out in pain.

James Thompson knew she was crying out deliberately, but still let go of her ear, his expression still stern.

Julia Land extended her little finger and hooked onto James Thompson’s clothes, "I’m sorry, I didn’t tell you right away because if you knew, you would definitely not agree to me using myself as bait."

"Mr. Thompson, please don’t be angry anymore, okay?"

Julia Land was almost twisting herself into a knot, as she planned to coax James Thompson all night.

On the other hand, Uncle Moore, who had left the banquet and returned home, had not yet received a call from that pair of siblings.

He paced anxiously back and forth, feeling an inexplicable urgency in his heart, "Could something unexpected have occurred?"

Mason Moore also wanted to hear the news of Julia Land’s death, so he followed to Uncle Moore’s house after leaving the banquet. He turned his head to look at Uncle Moore who was pacing, "What unexpected thing?"

"The people I hired to kidnap Julia Land, they haven’t called me back until now." Uncle Moore furrowed his brow.

"Could it be because it’s too late tonight that they haven’t called?" Mason Moore speculated.

Uncle Moore shook his head, "No, that shouldn’t be the case. They should have called me immediately after completing the task."

Mason Moore frowned, "Could it be that they failed?"

Uncle Moore and his group were not at all worried that the siblings might confess to their involvement after failing their task.

Because the siblings didn’t actually know who specifically had hired them.

Uncle Moore’s eyes were fiercely intense, "Let’s wait a bit longer, I hope Julia Land has already been buried alive."

The casino lights were dazzling, and the noise was deafening.

Even the air was permeated with a palpable sense of tension and excitement.

Daniel Moore held a large stack of chips, his eyes bright and full of life.

Tyler Hughes, however, stood on the second floor, coolly observing Daniel Moore’s excited demeanor.

He had specifically arranged for a few seasoned gamblers to accompany Daniel Moore in play.

Daniel Moore was immersed in the world of gambling, his eyes turning red with excitement, his chips dwindling.

"Another round!" Daniel Moore clenched his teeth, fiercely betting his last stack of chips.

The seasoned gamblers exchanged glances, subtly signaling each other.

As Daniel Moore watched, the dice slowly came to a stop. His face turned pale in an instant, losing all his chips for the night.

"That’s some bad luck," muttered one of the seasoned gamblers, apparently having lost a lot as well, he showed a bitter smile. "I don’t believe this! Get more chips!"

Daniel Moore angrily slammed the table, "Get me another batch of chips, too!"

Seeing this from upstairs, Tyler Hughes shook his head and chuckled, thinking it’s not good for a man to lack self-control.

Daniel Moore continued restlessly, "I just don’t buy that I can’t turn things around today!"

Tyler Hughes smiled faintly.

The casino lights shone on Daniel Moore, making his red eyes even more glaring.

A gambler.

Tyler Hughes turned and left the casino.

He knew that Daniel Moore had already fallen deep into the abyss of gambling, and with a little guidance, Daniel Moore would sink deeper and be beyond salvation.

Leaving the casino, he called Julia Land, "Boss, everything is going according to plan."

Julia Land nodded lightly on the other end of the phone, "Mm, keep an eye on him."

Julia Land hung up the phone and directly pulled James Thompson’s hand, imperiously making him wrap his arms around her waist.

"Mr. Thompson, stop being angry, look, I handled this matter very well."

She saw James Thompson lazily lifting his eyelids to look at her.

Julia Land continued to nuzzle into his embrace, whispering softly and tenderly, "Next time anything dangerous comes up, I won’t hide it from you anymore."
